Food was fair. Two people ordered the seafood pasta and were not impressed. My beef carpaccio was excellent, but the eggplant parmesan was not good. The fried calamari was shared by all and there was leftovers! The cheesecake was a small portion and delicious. My kids said they would have rather gone to a Chinese restaurant, and the bill would have been half the amount.

Was this place supposed to be an Italian restaurant? If so, someone forgot to tell the chef. Our spinach salad was past it's prime, my husband's panini was overly salted, and my penne tasted like rubber, probably signifying it had come out of a box. We were one of the only couples in the entire place, as most tables were taken up by large families of tourists. To add insult to injury, the wait staff came out clapping and singing for a little girl's birthday. Had I known this place was an Olive Garden masquerading as a real restaurant, I would have chosen to skip dinner all together rather than endure the agony of unlovingly prepared cuisine.

Saturday night during the Christmas Holiday - Surprised to get a reservation & that the place was not crowded at 8pm. I ordered the Red Snapper Special, my friend a chicken dish - Both were good portion but mine was terribly salty & a little too fishy. My friends chicken was served with potatoes & mushrooms but did not look very appetizing & a bit on the dry side. Service was good!

My experience was great. Even when a third party arrived unexpectedly, the service team found us a bigger table and moved our dishes and drinks without a big fuss. The food was YUM! I suggest ordering the pasta special-- these lovely Italian folks are not messing around! But seriously, I've never met a Brio dish I didn't like. Dine classy, my friends!

rarely am i impressed with italian in NYC but this Brio had it's charms. the food was not outstanding but it was good, solid and balanced. the wine menu was kinda of boring and leaning too much on the italian side. The menus themselves were cheap photocopies that were laminated at Staples or something, but other than that, a good recommendation!

I'm not sure about the other Brio, but the Brio Flatiron was not that good. We had brunch on a saturday, and their eggs benedict was really bad. Didn't like their potatoes side either. I felt bad for taking my friend here.

Would have been a better experience had the service been good. Our server was nice at first but as soon as we could not find him and had to ask the manager for fresh pepper, it went down hill. The server was rude and ignored us the rest of the night. Completely killed the experience.

We had a business dinner for party of 10. The service was wonderful & attentive. The good was exceptionally good. Better than what I remembered. We didn't hang out in the bar. But it looked lively from the amount of people around the bar area. Price as good. All in all, a very nice experience. Definitely go back again.

It was my wife's birthday few days ago. I visited Brio with personal request to order a little cake with a candle. I was offered to choose a table ahead of time. I asked for his recomendation for a private table, and was offered a booth seat. Both requests were put in the system. Fast forward to my wife's birthday. We talk to host about reservation and he leads us to a random table as if there was no note. I politely ask to check for the note and tell him about the prior arrangement I made. The host brushed the request off saying the booth table is already reserved. Eventually we were moved to the booth seats, but the experience was ruined by rude staff that made impression they lack professional courtesy and coordination skills.

We all had trouble reading the menu and had to use cell phone lights because the place is so dark. Romantic, yes, but a little impracticable. Very friendly and efficient wait staff. Eggplant appetizer and tropicale salad were both delicious, and had a very nice swordfish steak. The others all seemed pleased with their meals. and most were too full for dessert so the portions are good. Basically this is a very good restaurant with some wonderful food and an excellent staff.

I've now gone to Brio flatiron three times so I feel like I can finally justify writing a bad review. Each time I go, the food is decent and the service is awful. The most bizarre part is the service is always differently terrible and with different staff. Always consistently in attentive staff that you have to wave down for water refills, the restaurant is always out of at least one main dish, and they have also made me wait 45 minutes when I had a reservation. Three strikes, you're out.

We were pleasantly surprised after reading mixed reviews on a number of websites. The service was attentive. Three pastas, mushroom ravioli, tonarelli cacio e pepe & rigatoni with eggplant were all flavorful & well prepared. My husband liked his Saltimbocca. We finished by sharing a tiramisu which was acceptable but not memorable. Expresso was also very good.

The service was terrible. I had to flag the waitress as they seated us in the corner at the window, and she hardly spoke English. My pasta did not come with cauliflower as it was described on the menu, but broccoli instead, and when I complained there was no apology just, "I don't know, they did it in the kitchen." Sort of entirely changed the dish, with no explanation, but OK! The bus boys tried to clear our food while my pregnant friend was still eating, and otherwise we were entirely ignored by the maitre'd. This is the second time I've been to that location and they do seem to hire wait staff with minimal language skills. The Brio uptown is much more classy and well-run--they really take care of you.

The food just wasn't that good. Risotto was more like sticky rice, pasta special of tuna overdressed and needed salt (even with capers and olives in the mix). Drinks sound good on menu but then just didn't pop on delivery. I will say the truffle fries were done well. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. Good location.

I arrived at 5:30 for a 5:45 reservation and decided to have a cocktail at the bar. I informed one of the waiters of my reservation and asked him to hold a table by the window. He replied, no problem. When I asked to be seated both tables by the window were occupied. They forgot my request and proceeded to ask if I had a reservation. I made it through Open Table but they couldn't locate it and asked if by chance I made it for one of their other locations. Fortunately, I was able to show him the confirmation on my mobile device. Our waiter was nice enough but I felt we were being rushed. At one point, they tried to clear our plates before we were done I asked, why the rush and the busboy replied, we're very busy tonight. Why return?

I have had several really sub-par experiences here now, and no longer go. I can't imagine how they continue to get people in. Maybe because it just looks so appealing, the corner location is eye-catching and in the warm weather they have some outdoor tables on a quiet stretch of Broadway. Otherwise they'd be gone by now.

If you are looking for good Italian food, this is not the place. I had high hopes for this place as I had brunch here with friends and the food and service was good. It just did not go right from the time of our arrival, the person had to have been told twice to ensure my open table reservation was given credit and the pasta was not al dente at all. I was expecting more . The server was not very attentive or listening very well as he did not listen that I only wanted one entree to share and not two different kinds. I am not going back here anymore.
