I had made reservations for a Specialized Prime Rib Dinner that Brigantine emailed to me. When we had arrived, I was told that they were completely out of the Prime Rib, but we stayed for dinner anyway. When we asked if there a substitution for the Prime Rib, Brigantine offered the Rib Eye Steak. Let me tell you, that was the best Rib Eye Steak I have ever had. It was cooked to my taste perfectly. It was one of the best dinners I have had at the Brigantine.

Have enjoyed dining at the Brig for years. Made reservations for their Monday night prime rib/lobster special, but they ran out and substituted what appeared to be a very nice 'grass fed New York cut steak'. Turned out to be about 1/4 gristle and fat. Service was great and all the other meals were just fine--mine was the only disappointment.

We came in specifically for the Prime Rib w/Lobster Sauce special, which was excellent! However, the wine pairing was not very good. Tasted like an inexpensive house wine.

Great atmosphere and a lively place even on a Tuesday night. Food was good and our waiter was good however something happened with our order that delayed the food delivery about 20-30 minutes. With that said i would definitely give it another shot we really want to love it!

The Brigantine is always one of my favorite places. The hostess Patti is always so sweet and friendly, and the service is usually very good. On this visit, we had Ben as our waiter and he was excellent, especially knowing that we had to have pretty swift service as we were going to the show. I must say, however, the Mahi fish sandwich that I ordered was fair. The fish was very thin and a small portion; there was more lettuce and tomato than fish. I am sure the Chef probably just ran out of the decent portions as it was a late lunch for us; 2 p.m. I will be back again soon regardless, as this was a very unusual situation with the food because the food is usually excellent.

I am new to San Diego and we had some friends visiting the area and they wanted to eat at a nice restaurant. My wife wanted seafood so I did a Google search for seafood restaurants. There were many but the Brigantine caught my eye. I went to their website and it was easy to navigate and within a minute or two I knew everything I needed to know about this restaurant. We chose the Poway branch because it's close by. I then used Yelp to get some reviews. They were good so we made a reservation. The atmosphere in the restaurant was festive but not loud. People were enjoying their experience. When we were seated we immediately understood why. The service in this restaurant was excellent! Our every need was catered to and the food was delicious!

The menu had changed since we were here last and now seemed to be mostly seafood. Somewhat limiting for me, as a non seafood eater. However, as usual, the service was wonderful as well as the food. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon and my husband had the jumbo prawns. Portion sizes were just right. The apple crisp we ordered for dessert was so delicious...a perfect size for two to share. This was a great dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Requested a booth on reservations, & it apparently didn't show up on the reservations when we checked in at the hostess counter. When I looked back at the reservations, it didn't show up either. So I didn't make a fuss /complained about it to the waitress but they didn't do anything to even try to accommodate us. The place was packed & noisy, and clearly we wanted a nice, table for two. Instead we were seated in the middle of a room even though they were other tables on the ends for two. We asked to be moved, and were. Our waiter however, was great! He was very friendly, attentive, and accommodating as well for menu items we had seen on site but weren't on the actual menu. Overall, our experience was OK but it could of been better.

We had the prime rib dinner and were please from end to end. Wonderful, friendly staff; nice wine selection. We live in Escondido and have eaten at the Escondido Brigantine many times over he last 35 years. But now that the Escondido Brigantine is not recognizable and is incredibly noisy we had to venture forth and are very happy to have found a place similar in ambiance to what the Brigantine Escondido once was that we can now call home. It is well worth the additional 12 miles to get to the Poway Brigantine. Very well worth it.

We enjoyed a crab cake - has a very soft texture and good flavor, clam chowder - rich and creamy, and two entree specials which were both good. Staff was very accommodating of our 6-mo-old and set us up with a highchair right away. Service was efficient and friendly. We've been here several times, alone and with others, and it's always been a pleasant experience.

This place is okay for a night out in Poway. My fish was cooked perfectly but the sides were weird; veggies were super salty and the potato salad was just mayo, as far as I could tell. On the other hand, where else are you going to go?

I went there with my daughter and we had a nice Friday evening. Service was excellent and food very good to excellent. This restaurant is on more expensive side compared to other places in Poway, but if you don't mind to spend money you get a nice dining environment and treated nicely. It was not ridiculously expensive either.

Our experience was not the best. The crab and lobster cobb salad was smelly and required a lot of manual doctoring to reduce the smell. Probably should have returned it. The fried seafood entree was also sub-par in flavor and was not fresh. The clam chowder had a lot of sand/grit and was over-salty. We saw another couple walk in, get seated and immediately walk out. That should have been a clue. Not going back.

San Diego chain restaurant. It's just boring and plain. Fish tacos are good. Recently tried an entree of "stuffed" giant prawns. They were absolutely terrible. Dry, hard and with no crab "stuffing" to speak of. Gross, they tasted like something you would buy in the frozen food section of a grocery store. Incredibly disappointing for $27...

been here a few times and it always seems to just miss the spot. Nothing bad, just little things that you'd think a $$$ place would get right. This time, the waitress was a little forgetful with who ordered what and was slow bringing drinks out even through it was not very crowded. Bus boy gave me water, then put it down right in the middle of my menu. Again, nothing major, just when I'm going to spend $120 for dinner with my fam (wife and 3 kids) I expect something more from the servers than what I'd get at Outback or Chilli's.

We were greeted, from the moment we walked in the door for our lunch, by a very friendly hostess at the front desk. She walked us to the table that I had reserved and then very soon our very sweet waitress appeared. Our waitress was very nice to let us visit for awhile before ordering our meals, as we had not seen each other for a bit and needed some time to catch up. When we did order our food and service were both excellent. I usually always order the delicious spinach salad and this time ordered a swordfish taco too. Great place, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff.

First time here. Our server went on about them even said they were on special.we ordered the fish taco plates. Said she would be back with bread. Next time we saw her was with our fish taco plates. No bread. When the check came, the fish tacos were full price. When asked about it, the response was "oh you have to be sitting in the bar." This was slightly annoying since it was made know this was our first time here. The food itself was great.
