  • "First time here. Our server went on about them even said they were on special.we ordered the fish taco plates. Said she would be back with bread. Next time we saw her was with our fish taco plates. No bread. When the check came, the fish tacos were full price. When asked about it, the response was "oh you have to be sitting in the bar." This was slightly annoying since it was made know this was our first time here. The food itself was great."

  • "been here a few times and it always seems to just miss the spot. Nothing bad, just little things that you'd think a $$$ place would get right. This time, the waitress was a little forgetful with who ordered what and was slow bringing drinks out even through it was not very crowded. Bus boy gave me water, then put it down right in the middle of my menu. Again, nothing major, just when I'm going to spend $120 for dinner with my fam (wife and 3 kids) I expect something more from the servers than what I'd get at Outback or Chilli's."

  • "For lunch we want:Easy Access: Wasn't There. No available handi-capped parking; walk-up to front door was difficult. They had been told to expect a person using a walker. Either they didn't understand or didn't care. Little effort to aid the dining experience. Lunch Menu was not interesting Crab cake Sandwich was poor; side dishes unremarkable. Our drinks were not refilled in a prompt manner, Maybe if alcohol they would have been."

  • "We were greeted, from the moment we walked in the door for our lunch, by a very friendly hostess at the front desk. She walked us to the table that I had reserved and then very soon our very sweet waitress appeared. Our waitress was very nice to let us visit for awhile before ordering our meals, as we had not seen each other for a bit and needed some time to catch up. When we did order our food and service were both excellent. I usually always order the delicious spinach salad and this time ordered a swordfish taco too. Great place, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff."

  • "I took my father out for brunch for Father's Day, and it was a very pleasant experience. This was a special occasion, and it meant a lot to take him out. The food was excellent! My father had the machaca and I had the brunch special steak and eggs. Whitney, our server was on top of everything, and provided great sevice. She kept our glasses filled and checked on us frequently. I would definitely go back again!"

I was even more impressed because they didn't 'up the price' because of the holiday and while busy remained pleasant and accommodating. "

  • "The food was excellent, as was the service. A table near us had 3 very young children among about 10 adults. The oldest child, about 3 years old was obnoxious and noisy. The babies fussed a little, but the toddler made the experience unpleasant for a nice dinner out. We don't dine out very often. Not sure how to solve this for the future."

Escondido did not advertise any macadamia nut crusted fish - which is my favorite. We did not know your Poway restaurant would be serving the prime rib which is a favorite."

  • "We had particularly good service from our waitress (used to work in Myrtle Beach, can't remember her name). The food was great.. more than we could eat. The ambiance was great. The only negative was a noisy group seated by us... And that is not the restaurant's fault! Overall, we has a lovely Easter Sunday dinner! "

  • "We decided to eat here for Easter brunch because it's closer to our church and they promoted that there will be an event for kids. So we were excited that the kids will beable to do egghunt but disappointed that it was over when we had our reservation. When they promote this they should be specific on the time for the egghunt because our kids were looking forward to it and I asked the hostess about it she just told me the waiter will inform us but the waiter didn't tell us. I won't be taking my family here for Easter brunch again. I felt bad for my friends who joined us and drove 45 minutes because I told them Brigantne has an event for kids. "

  • "The Brig has been a reliable favorite that we had not visited for years. The menu is great with a perfect number and variety of options. As crazy as it sounds, I decided against the prime rib (one of my favorites for a nice dinner out) for the good old fish tacos! They were outstanding as usual! It's a little pricey for us to make a regular habit of but worth it for special occasions!"

I asked for a quiet spot in my reservation request, and the restaurant seated us in a room with just one other party. The food (I had an Ahi appetizer and the scallops) was absolutely excellent, and our server was personable, accommodating, and attentive."

You order off the menu, no buffet brunch. Our waitress was great, the people friendly and we normally love going for lunch and Happy Hour and sit in the bar. Never had dinner there yet."

  • "I come here often with clients and friends for a quick lunch that is not just 'burger and fries' and am never disappointed in the menu or the chef's prep. The fish of the day, especially my favorite - sand dabs, the variety of salads, soup of the day, Chinese salad - all are winners. Great atmosphere and quiet early in the lunch hour for a quiet meeting with business colleagues and later to energetic and busy as the lunch hour goes on."

  • "We come to the "Brig" often, seven times in the last five months and its normally excellent. But this evening was the worst. The food was OK, but the service was. . . . in a word. . . . painful. Service was very, very slow, had to ask for basic items, water glasses empty and remained that way. Server was unfamiliar with menu and said my favorite beer wasn't on menu, but it was. Check brought without ink pen, so had to wait a long time. . . again just to get a pen. Wife and I were surprised as this isn't the Brig we know and love."

  • "I thought that overall the place was nice. There was alot of people and we did make a reservation. The service was pleasant and attentive. The food was ehhh.....We started off with a jumbo crab cake, not a recommendation I would make for a future visit. My husband got Stuffed prawns they were not that great. They were wrapped in bacon and it completely over powered the rest of the dish. He had blue cheese and bacon potato salad and coleslaw. Not worth the $26.00 price. I had Blackened Mahi Mahi it was just below average. The seasoned veggies were too under cooked, and the jasmine rice was well bland. Again not worth the $26.00 price. I have spent the same kind of money at Pehoe's in Coronado and had a phi-nominal dinner."

Blackened mahi mahi was a HOT hit. First glass of pinot noir was not good so waiter made a smart switch! Overall a nice time.."

  • "Tried the Fresh catch menu (appetizer, entree, and dessert included at one very reasonable price) and wine Wednesday special (1/2 price on bottles or $1 off by the glass). Loved the wine (homeland red), the house salad, and the dessert (chocolate bombe was amazingly yummy). The sole almandine was a little disappointing -- drier and blander than I'm used to, but still very edible and a great value. Server was efficient, engaging, and helpful. Had a very enjoyable evening!"
