You order off the menu, no buffet brunch. Our waitress was great, the people friendly and we normally love going for lunch and Happy Hour and sit in the bar. Never had dinner there yet."

The fish of the day, especially my favorite - sand dabs, the variety of salads, soup of the day, Chinese salad - all are winners. Great atmosphere and quiet early in the lunch hour for a quiet meeting with business colleagues and later to energetic and busy as the lunch hour goes on."

  • "We come to the "Brig" often, seven times in the last five months and its normally excellent. But this evening was the worst. The food was OK, but the service was. . . . in a word. . . . painful. Service was very, very slow, had to ask for basic items, water glasses empty and remained that way. Server was unfamiliar with menu and said my favorite beer wasn't on menu, but it was. Check brought without ink pen, so had to wait a long time. . . again just to get a pen. Wife and I were surprised as this isn't the Brig we know and love."

  • "I thought that overall the place was nice. There was alot of people and we did make a reservation. The service was pleasant and attentive. The food was ehhh.....We started off with a jumbo crab cake, not a recommendation I would make for a future visit. My husband got Stuffed prawns they were not that great. They were wrapped in bacon and it completely over powered the rest of the dish. He had blue cheese and bacon potato salad and coleslaw. Not worth the $26.00 price. I had Blackened Mahi Mahi it was just below average. The seasoned veggies were too under cooked, and the jasmine rice was well bland. Again not worth the $26.00 price. I have spent the same kind of money at Pehoe's in Coronado and had a phi-nominal dinner."

  • "Looking for seafood in Poway area. Open Table offered Brigantine. Not bad for multi-location operstion. Chicken tortilla soup, house salad and shrimp cocktail made for a good start. Blackened mahi mahi was a HOT hit. First glass of pinot noir was not good so waiter made a smart switch! Overall a nice time.."

  • "Tried the Fresh catch menu (appetizer, entree, and dessert included at one very reasonable price) and wine Wednesday special (1/2 price on bottles or $1 off by the glass). Loved the wine (homeland red), the house salad, and the dessert (chocolate bombe was amazingly yummy). The sole almandine was a little disappointing -- drier and blander than I'm used to, but still very edible and a great value. Server was efficient, engaging, and helpful. Had a very enjoyable evening!"

"I've had fresh water lobster before" said one guest. "Excellent! I'd highly recommend". In fact, one group was out for lunch the next day and decided to stop back at the Brig for lunch! The report: "great tacos"!"

The food was excellent, especially the Filet Mignon and Shrimp that my daughter ordered, and we enjoyed everything. We were in the front table directly behind the greeter's station, which made it a bit noisy and busy, but not objectionable."

  • "We booked a party of 6 for a 7:30pm dinner on Christmas Eve. We were seated promptly, and waiter attention was adequate. From there, it went downhill. We got our Hors d'oeuvre with about a 20 minute delay, and then, about 8pm, began the long wait for our main courses. The waiter brought a single half order of bread to the table, explaining that they were out of bread and that some would be out of the ovens in a few minutes. We watched as other tables that had been seated after us received their orders, ate, and left. Several times we were told they were expediting out order, but it was almost 9:30 before we received our main courses. They did credit 3 prime rib orders to us, but the File Mignon was just adequate. Not a good time."

Staff friendly but as our waiter was training, it was quite a bit lacking...seemed as if he had never waited tables much before. But all - him, greeters, support staff all friendly and courteous. I might try this again but perhaps another location."

  • "Wife and I did an afterwork meet-up and mid-week date-night. Wine was $1.00 off per glass on Wednesday, which was an added bonus. The Wedge BLT Salad was great and all my wife's "extra request" were accommodated. Server packaged up our leftovers back in the kitchen, so we didn't have to scoop up food at the table and put it into boxes ourselves. That may sound like a small thing, but its one we really appreciated and a level of service that stands out."

The food is well prepared and a great variety to fit all taste buds. The service is always excellent and very attentive, and the dining area is spacious enough for people to not be seated too close to one another and able to chat. Try the sand dabs! Great taste. Or the salads, always fresh."
