Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.

With an updated nautical decor, the busy Oyster bar is hands-down the local favorite. Lush flowering foliage outdoors creates an elegant dining experience on one of two charming patios.

The La Mesa Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, lunch Monday-Saturday, and brunch every Sunday.

My mom ordered the Halibut and Husband the Mahi Mahi and both were tasty, too. The ambience was great, very comfortable and nice. I would definately recommend this restaurant for special occasions, romantic date...for anything."

The waitress asked the cook if it was possible since it had been the special from the previous night and he agreed that that would be fine. So glad I asked - it was a really nice meal. Hubby thought the fish was dry but I was pleased with everything especially the Brig salad! Have made the same salad at home every night since - yum yum!!!"

Sure the prices are a bit steep for everyday dining, but for special occasions this is the pace to go to get great seafood made to perfection. My last meal consisted of a macadamia nut encrusted halibut and my wife had the almond crusted sea bass paired with the house chardonnay. It was a delight!"

Our server was nice enough, but she just seemed a little behind. The food was just okay; we come to the Brig all the time, and this was the first time it was a full miss. It's not that it was horrible. I just think my expectations had already been set high. The Happy Hour can't be beat; so if one is going to go, go for that."

  • "It was a birthday celebration that we attended. I had accidentally booked the wrong date. Instead of letting it cxl, they called me to ask if we were still coming. I called back and apologized for the error. They booked the correct date. When we got there, they seated those that arrived a little earlier and showed the rest to the table. The waitress asked who the birthday boy was and wished him a happy birthday. There was a special going for a 3-course dinner. A great deal. Everything seemed to run smoothly. My father's dessert came with a candle and was very good. I loved the swordfish. Didn't seem you could go wrong with anything. Our waitress was very accommodating. "
