The restaurant itself is nice with an open patio area. The staff is friendly and very responsive, BUT the food was far from expected compared to how it was described by the restaurant on Opentable. I was looking for a nice place in Escondido to take family i was visiting in the area and seafood sounded good to everyone so we picked this place. It is way over priced vis-a-vis the quality and presentation of the food. I left after paying almost $200 for a party of four regretting every minute. The next day, we headed to El Pescador Fish Market in La Jolla!

My experience at the Escondido Brigantine was really good we went to dinner to celebrate my birthday I had ordered an iron steak with a red wine sauce with mushrooms and ordered it with mashed potatoes and broccolini. It was not on the menu I had it about a year ago and the manager Alicia was able to duplicate my dinner and it was outstanding. I had also ordered a cheesy garlic bread which was not on the menu that they were able to accommodate because it was on their previous menu I'm not sure if they had discontinued it. My husband ordered a bacon wrapped fillet mignon which was cooked perfect I would recommend this place more for a group setting not so much romantic because of the noise level and the openness. At the end of dinner I was brought a crème brûlée which was really tasty, Thank you Alicia for making my night!!!

We used to dine often and have the prime rib, but it was not the same food quality as before. We had your special Prime rib and lobster. The meat was not tender and was hard to eat. no horseradish or ajus The lobster was ok but not much there. The mashed potatoes were very runny and the green beans needed cooked a little more. What happened? The service was good and we enjoyed the patio but not the food.

I ordered the three course meal. I got the Swordfish which was $27.00. I was billed separately for these items $4.25 for the salad, $25.00 for the Swordfish, and $4.25 for the creme Brulee. That came to $33.50. It should have been $27.00 total. $6.50 difference. Come on this was your deal and you can't get it right. I don't need to comment on the meal because we won't be back. I liked the resautrant before you remolded it. We went there at least four times a year. But no more. I don't know why but I gave the server a $15.00 tip on a $95.00 purchase. I really feel like you ripped me off but didn't realize it until we got home. Our check number was 100012 for your information.

We had not been to Brigandine since it was renovated in Escondido. It was gorgeous and so classy. The service was amazing and the food was wonderful. They gave us a mud pie for my husband's birthday. We will be trying brunch next. I highly recommend Brigandine for any occasion

I've read reviews about the service being slow at the Brigantine but that was not the case for us. Our waitress was not only friendly and helpful but everything was timely. Food was good too and reasonably price. Very nice overall and I will return.

We had a reservation for 7:30 and arrive 15 minutes early and we were advised our table was not ready so we went to your bar and had a drink. 30 minutes later we were still sitting at the bar and had to get up ourselves to find out why we have not been seated and they forgot about us and stated they sit us in 5 minutes. The food was great, our server was either too busy with too many tables or just pre-occupied that he forgot to bring us extra bread and very seldom came by our table. It was when your Assistant Manger came by that we were able to get extra bread. Over all the food was excellent , but the service needs some working on.

The service was excellent. The prices are reasonable. My wife had potato salad which we both thought was tasteless. I thought costco potato salad would be better I was going for the steak but now you only have 2 choices since the remodel. I was looking for a prime rib. My wife went for the fish and got the sea food platter which mentioned clams on the menu but unless they were fried with everything else we did not see them.

Sunday brunch was very nice, and the "bottomless mimosa" was replenished often and a good deal. My fish and chips were very good but a bit pricey. Our guests loved the eggs benedict. I would definitely go back. The newly redecorated venue is airy and bright with a nice nautical theme and friendly, efficient service.

The only real problem was the fact that even though they have a rather limited menu they were out of two, different seafood items. Mind you, this is a SEAFOOD restaurant. They were out of scallops and one fish item. This was at 7:00 on a Tuesday. Hard to figure.

We had our wedding reception at Azul La Jolla 12 years ago and have supported other Brigatine restaurants over the years. To my surprise, the Brigatine removed "steakhouse" from their title. My husband's prime rib came out cold - TWICE with hardly any other food on the plate (one little pile of mashed potatoes and 5 small veggie slices for $32!). He went without dinner. My rib eye came out warm except there was only 4 little slices of potato, no veggie, and maybe 1 TBS of sauce and 2 mushroom slices for $27. The kid's burgers could have been better at Denny's the way they were slopped on the plate and the fries were McDonald's quality. The Brigatine has gone downhill and we will not be returning. They did treat us with anniversary dessert.

We found the Brigantine in Escondido thru OpenTable. What a pleasant surprise! The atmosphere is light and airy, and the menu is fit for foodies. The patio sports a graceful canopy, fire pit in a granite table island, and wall chain fountain. It was Sunday brunch. My companion had the calamari strips with jalapeno cream sauce. I had the carnitas stack, with marinated corn tortillas layered with savory pulled pork, 2 poached eggs, guacamole & sour cream on the side. His Mai Tai is described as a Citrus beverage, lightweight, a little fruit juice, vitamin C, tempered with alcohol. I enjoyed a fragrant mighty leaf Earl Grey tea. All in all a perfect combination for a balmy summer afternoon.

Daniel and Anan (sp?) were outstanding servers Daniel remembered what we liked from our last visit and was spot on with the timing of our courses. He's very knowledgeable about the food as well. Adan (sp?) was the first server ever to ask me how fine or coarse I wanted the pepper out of the mill. It may seem like a small thing it's those special touches that are important. We've almost never had a bad meal here and this time we weren't disappointed. The oysters, the Brig salad, the clam chowder all delish as usual. This time we tried the big eye tuna with a perfect sear in a piquillo pepper sauce that was absolutely smoky and delectable. I had the almond crusted mahi mahi with a goat cheese polenta. What a great choice.

I've eaten here on many occasions and never had a bad meal. Unfortunately this time, my fish was horrible! There was a lot of blood lines and veins running through it and it was so over cooked it was rubbery. They made it right immediately--their service is amazing. we ordered water to start off as we didn't know liquor selections.....water came immediately; we then wait bout 10-15 minutes for waitress. We were then asked if we were ready to order. I asked if there were specials for the evening; I would have thought waitress would have shared that before asking us what we wanted to order. After that waitress did check on us. It was on cooler side in restaurant and my food got cold so asked if they could reheat which they did and brought out right away. I would visit again

This was our first visit after the new remodel. It is a lot lighter inside and a much better use of the space. We sat indoors , but the outside looked nice as well. The food was good , the service good. It seems they lost some people during the closure and the new ones are still learning. I am disappointed the prime rib is offered in only one cut size. They used to have a Mate's cut and a Capitan's cut. The salads were good, we will be back.

We have been to Brigantine many times. We are very disappointed in the new decor. The place used to have a more ship-like appearance and romantic, dinner, atmosphere. Now it has a bright open look that resembles an IHOP only with fish on the wall. The food is still pretty good. our server Daniel was extraordinary.
