  • Parking Details: The Brigantine is located at the south-east corner of West Felicita and Centre City Parkway. There is ample free parking in the shopping center lot, as well as two handicap spaces in front of the restaurant's entrance.

Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.



Located near the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, the Brigantine features fireside seating in a casual dining room, and in the adjacent lounge. Outdoor dining is available on one of our intimate patios, which include both fireplace and water features.



Private dining is available in the elegantly-appointed Rock Room.



The Escondido Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Monday-Saturday. Join us for our signature Happy Hour.

  • "we ordered water to start off as we didn't know liquor selections.....water came immediately; we then wait bout 10-15 minutes for waitress. We were then asked if we were ready to order. I asked if there were specials for the evening; I would have thought waitress would have shared that before asking us what we wanted to order. After that waitress did check on us. It was on cooler side in restaurant and my food got cold so asked if they could reheat which they did and brought out right away. I would visit again"

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary on 7/4. We picked the Brigantine because they offered steak and seafood and it was some where we hadn't eaten. We had a great dinner everything was fresh and was prepared perfectly. The fondue we had as an appetizer was to die for. They were very attentive and even gave us a cute anniversary card. We had a wonderful night and we look forward to eating there again soon."

  • "This was our first visit after the new remodel. It is a lot lighter inside and a much better use of the space. We sat indoors , but the outside looked nice as well. The food was good , the service good. It seems they lost some people during the closure and the new ones are still learning. I am disappointed the prime rib is offered in only one cut size. They used to have a Mate's cut and a Capitan's cut. The salads were good, we will be back."

  • "We took my husband here for Father's Day brunch. We sat in their new patio area. It was really pretty and relaxing with the water feature. We had the fish tacos and I drank their mango sangria’s which were delicious! My hubby was very happy with their beer selection as well. The children enjoyed their lunch as well.   • "We have been to Brigantine many times. We are very disappointed in the new decor. The place used to have a more ship-like appearance and romantic, dinner, atmosphere. Now it has a bright open look that resembles an IHOP only with fish on the wall. The food is still pretty good. our server Daniel was extraordinary. Knew his stuff and was extremely kind and attentive."

  • "We celebrated an anniversary dinner here. The waiter was good, but his timing was off a little. He brought out the first entree THEN the salads and THEN another entree! They comped the salads. Overall, the remodel made us feel like we were in a cafeteria. It was very sterile with NO character. And it's much louder than it used to be. But the food was delicious. SUGGESTION: One thing we didn't care for were the side dishes because of the lack of variety. There were WAY TOO many potato dishes. Why don't more restaurants offer mac 'n cheese, creamed corn, creamed spinach, fruit, or a micro-salad as a side dish? Nothing like this was available, even on the "Small Plates" section on the menu."

  • "My wife and I looked forward to a quiet, romantic dinner at the Escondido Brigantine. We weren't aware that it had been renovated. The changes have, unfortunately, completely destroyed the atmosphere we loved so much. Too many hard surfaces make the noise level unbearable. It's light and bright, kind of like a hospital critical care unit. The warm and cozy ambiance that made the Brig ideal for an escape from the hustle and bustle, is now gone forever. Very sad. We did have a minor issue with our server seeming to ignore us for 10 or 15 minutes after she took our beverage order. No excuses were offered, but the staff bent over backwards to make it right once they realized what had happened."

  • "Can't believe how much this place had changed. Gone is the ambiance of a huge warm fireplace and coziness of the place and enter the very loud, cold modern, chrome feeling of the texting crowd. We Miss the good old place. Food was still good but service was not so good. This is our second visit since the new Brig makeover,may not come back."

  • "I recently went to check out the renovated Brig with my husband and friends for his birthday. The service was good and our waitress was very attentive, but we were all very underwhelmed with the portions of our food. My husband had the ahi and for $24, he barely had any vegetables and a really sad scoop of rice. Also, two of us at the table ordered the burger, and the maybe had about a dozen fries on our plates. We wanted to really like the new Brig, but it left much to be desired. The only positive was that my husband really enjoyed his oysters."

  • "We made reservations here for Mother's Day Brunch. Two days before, we had unexpected guests come in town. I called and spoke to a manger about increasing our reservation of six to a party of nine. I completely expected her to tell me it could not be done, as Mother's Day is a very busy brunch day. She looked at her seating chart, gave me a few options and made it happen! The brunch was wonderful, our server was great and we had a terrific time. The remodel is beautiful, too!"

  • "We dined at the newly remodeled Escondido Brigantine location and the place looked fantastic. It was a vast improvement over the old dark and very dated "ship" motif of the old version. Our meals were all delicious but I must say that it was pretty obvious that the portion sizes have been reduced. Not sure if the prices went up, but it did seem rather expensive as 2 meals with 1 appetizer and no wine or alcoholic beverages was $75 before gratuity. Despite that, it was still a wonderful evening at a newer "upscale" restaurant in sunny Escondido."

  • "I know the staff was trying but the friendly place we expected has gone away. We did not enjoy the noise, lighting, A/C anything about the newly remodeled location we had recommended so often to others. We want our old great place back. The food was not as good. The service slow and the room was like a fast food restaurant. We missed the nice patio area with pond now a noisy and hot luncheon pit. I am sorry we will not return even though we have been regulars. So sorry new is not nice or better. Hope you don't ruin too many of your other locations. Sorry to be not happy."

  • "I have been a frequent guest of the old Brigantine over the years and the one thing I really enjoyed was the warmth and ambience of the restaurant. It has lost that in the new Brigantine .The new Brigantine is all chrome and modern like a fast food atmosphere I also miss the ship The staff is still great and the food is good but I had a client from New York with me and she would have enjoyed the old atmosphere also. "

  • "The Restaurant has recently been remodeled and is beautiful, however the removal of carpet and acoustic ceilings has made the noise level intolerable. This has always been one of our favorite places to go for a romantic dinner out. The romance is gone. The food and service are still great, so if you like noise it would not be a problem. Overall we were disappointed"

  • "Been coming here for 10 years and know that since the remodel there are things to work out. New employees, traffic patterns etc. Food was just OK and had to sent back once. Server was fantastic and overcame the negatives about the food. We used to eat in the bar, this time chose the dining room as it was our anniversary. Bar volume and accoustics WAY too loud. Can no longer have a quiet evening there. Hard floors and open ceiling, sound bounces all over and you have to yell to overcome all the other people. Of course,, that makes everyone else do the same!. Like the outdoors areas and fire counters. I think that I would drive to Poway to visit the Brig in the future and I live in Escondido"

  • "Congrats on the remodeled Brig! Still needs some interior glass walls to help dampen the loud noise. We sat in the corner booth & could hardly hear ourselves talk. I've always said that it's the sound of people enjoying themselves..and it is....but it's over the top! Calamari "strips" were extremely disappointing. Nice flavor but they should be called "sticks" and not "strips". Bring back the 1" wide strips! Prime Rib now a "wkend spcl" vs. daily. Big mistake. It was the best meat item on the menu before. We asked for a substitution from Chicken Piccata to the old Tequila Chicken (same chicken prep but w/ the Jalapeno Cheese Sauce.) It was SO good..thank you! Glad Stella is back on draft. Waiter, Ubaldo, was excellent! - John K"
