A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received numerous accolades during our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.

Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats.

A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado.

Completely remodeled in 2005, the "new" Coronado Brigantine is an elegant adaptation of its former self. The addition of an intimate private dining room, a surround-seating bar and street-side outdoor patio have been equally well-received.

The Coronado Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, as well as lunch Monday-Saturday.

  • "My husband and I found this restaurant on a whim online. It was delicious! We were surrounded by loud people all around, but on another night, it would have been quite romantic. They had many different seafood options to chose from, which was a nice change from our usual New Mexico fare. It's a little on the pricey side; our meal including a beer, a glass of sangria, calamari to share, and two entrees was over $70. However, it is well worth the money. We would definitely go again!"

  • "Love Coronado and this is by far one of the best restaurants I've been to in the San Diego area. The food was outstanding. From the bread, to the salads, to the main course. Everything was exceptional. The atmosphere in the place is really cool, without being overly fancy. It's a casual setting. We were seated at a booth which was nicely secluded. We made reservations and I would recommend doing so because when we got there just before eight the place was packed and there was a wait. However we were seated promptly and our food and service were top notch. Our server was exceptional and I am the type of person who truly appreciates good service when I'm in a restaurant. Considering where we were I felt the prices were very reasonable. A+"

Our food was tasty, and there was a good kids menu. Our whole family enjoyed the meal. Having said that, the reason I love the Brig so much is because I can always count on an amazing meal and good service. They never rush you and I have never had any room to complain about the service nor the food. I tried the fish tacos this time around (mostly I always choose steak here) and it was delicious! Couple that with a very lovely wine list and good company and you have the perfect dinner out. Seriously, if you want to have a great dinner and conversation, hit up either of the Brig restaurants. It's my San Diego go to place!"

  • "I always visit one of the Brigantine restaurant locations when in San Diego. Huge fan of the signature dish, marinated swordfish. First time at this one on Coronado, with all-around fine and friendly service, the outstanding swordfish, and my wife reported excellent on her bacon-wrapped stuffed prawns. Liked the idea of having the little booths, but too much spotlight on ours, and other booth conversations carried surprisingly into our hearing which was more distracting than expected. Not perfect, but we'll return again."

  • "The restaurant was softly lit, bright enough you could still see everything clearly but dim enough so it gave the entire place a very calm and low key kind of atmosphere. The waitress was very prompt and helpful, she greeted us right away, was able to tell me what a "sand dab" was, and gave recommendations for her favorite dishes. I took her recommendation and ordered the Brigantine Swordfish which was cooked perfectly, good texture but not too dry. The menu was priced very well, there were a range of options so even if you're on a budget, you could still afford to enjoy some of the lovely local seafood."

  • "A very busy night, we waited about 15 minutes in the tiny, busy lobby for our table. Service was efficient and a pleasant atmosphere. We got a free appetizer sampler - some ahi tuna which was quite good, a delicious crab cake, and what turned out to be calimari steak fingers - not recognizable as calimari. I had grilled swordfish which was ok - a little dry and a square piece. My partner had soft shelled crabs, which turned out to be deep fried such that you couldn't taste what crab there was and they were mushy. Having eaten soft shell crabs in Maryland, we were surprised by these. Also, not indicated as fried on the menu. Overall, the food was not as good as we had been told. We would certainly spend good money in a better place."

  • "Our family ate dinner here the weekend before Christmas. Luckily we had made reservations and were seated immediately. Our server was very good (and she had many tables to keep track of). Even though the restaurant was extremely crowded we did not have to wait long for our entrees. The seafood and steak entrees were delicious, the bread and our dessert (peppermint cheesecake) were excellent as well. This will probably be our go-to place for dinner the next time we are in Coronado."

  • "Arrived 30' before reservation time, were effortlessly worked into a busy evening. Service good, food okay, though managed to NOT overcook a thin piece of swordfish....nice job! The weekday option of three courses for the price of entre was a nice touch, though cream brulee was over-caramelized. Came back on a busier weekend, and service was uneven...how do you 'run out of sourdough bread'? Will probably try again, if only for the good service!"
