Diner Reviews
  • "This used to be THE most desired place to get a bite, celebrate a special occasion. The menu used to be iron clad delicious for every item. No more. We came for summer outdoor ambiance to get away from the kids for a change. Why????? Music so loud we couldn't relax and hear each other, menu is so weird, I really just ordered to order. I wanted the caprese salad but it didn't go with the ahi tuna poke I wanted because no other entree looked appealing besides the fact that I'm allergic to seafood ( which is a lot of the menu). So I ordered Caesar salad. They are heavy on flavor/sauces. Need food to stand out. I could have had a burger but it wasn't there. The wine.....meh...nothing special. Try lunch if you have to."

  • "We have dined here numerous times over the 25 or so years living in the area. This visit was another birthday celebration and from a service point of view was handled flawlessly. The restaurant was (nearly uncomfortably) quiet on a Sunday evening and I suspect that it has finally come off the trendy list. We will stop by on another weekend night to see if that is in fact the case. the decor is nice, however more 1995 than 2014. The food was good, but not really great this time. The waiter actually recommended a menu item over the special and we should have listened to him. I had an appetizer and main course with heirloom tomatoes which did not appear to be, nor taste like, anything but your standard supermarket table variety."

  • "Our party of six - two adults and four kids (aged 8 - 15) had lunch at Bridges last Saturday (July 5). We chose this restaurant because we were visiting San Francisco, and our kids wanted to eat here because it was in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire. I hadn't read any reviews prior to making our reservation, and was really only planning on eating here because of the kids, but was very pleasantly surprised with our experience. The lunch was delicious (our choices were Belgian Waffles, Grilled Salmon Salad, Chicken Chop Chop Salad). The plates were beautifully presented, the service staff were great, and the live guitar music added lovely ambiance. The prices were very reasonable too. We ate on the patio and thoroughly enjoyed our experience."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed the wonderful Fixe Prix meal in celebrating my birthday. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent! I loved my Flat Iron steak with bread pudding, while my wife said her Salmon was the best she had ever eaten! I enjoyed the desserts - creme brulee and flour less chocolate cake with the meal and my birthday cupcake!"

  • "First time here and loved it. We were seated just inside on the edge of the patio. Wonderful ambiance, music outside drifting in. Can't say enough!!! Food was AMAZING!! Wanted to eat more but there was no room left!!"

  • "We've been to Bridges many times and find the food and service to be consistently good. The menu changes often enough offering enough variety to please everyone. There were at least 3 varieties of fish on the menu. I had the Ahi which was seared rare with lentils and was excellent."

  • "Excellent service without intruding. Food was well prepared to our satisfaction."

  • "With so many good choices in Danville, we find ourselves rotating amoung them so don't make it to Bridges nearly as often as we should. The outside dining patio is beatiful and, like the inside, the tables are spaced well apart so you are not hearing everyone else's conversations. Last night four of us each ordered different starters and entrees and all were delicious (even the hot roasted banana soup)! Being a Wednesday, the bar area was packed, the outdoor patio was full with a great combo band playing soft tunes and we were in a perfect location viewing all from inside. They offer a fixed priced 3 course menu as well as a full and varied selection with well sized plates and fair pricing. A really good location."

  • "Great setting, the food is always outstanding with unusual dishes being offered regularly, good service and great atmosphere inside or out. Can't go wrong with Bridges."

  • "I have eaten at Bridges Restaurant many times and I love the food, ambiance, and service here. This was my first visit for brunch and I thought the ham and pea fritatta was ok. Perhaps if I had ordered something else I would have given the food a higher rating. I'll try something else if I go to Bridges for brunch again in the future."

  • "Whether it is a special occasion or just to meet friends for lunch, Bridges never disappoints. You have your choice of indoor or outdoor dining, which is a nice feature. Everything on the menu is outstanding, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. On our most recent visit, they had some interesting fresh fish selections as well as old favorites on the menu. The server had caught that it was our anniversary and brought over a special dessert at the end. They are always a step ahead!"

  • "We took a client for lunch. We were three in all. Our wait-person Fidel was awesome. Great attitude, attentive yet not overbearing....allows you to enjoy your guests with the right amount of stopping by and checking in on you. Lisa the manager is always so sweet and inviting. Food was great, wine was delicious, just a super nice setting for business luncheons."

  • "I have enjoyed Bridges food for years. This last visit was very disappointing. The lunch special of soup, salad and 1/2 sandwich was mediocre in taste. The Carrot Soup was bland, the salad uninteresting and the chicken curry sandwich had too much dressing - (mayonnaise maybe?) and not enough flavor."

  • "Bridges has the best al fresco dining in Danville. It was perfect for our birthday luncheon. The waiter was helpful and attentive, but not hovering. The food was very good and just the right portion for lunch. Our group will definitely come here again for special occasions and more."

  • "I made a last minute lunch reservation for two. A friendly, efficient hostess greeted us and offered a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The cozy patio is nicely shaded, surrounded by a garden making you feel like you are a guest in a private home. We started with their famed truffled French fries which did not disappoint. I had the chop-chop chicken salad, a delicious mix of tender chicken, avocado, bacon dressed just right. My guest had a turkey sandwich which he deemed the best he has ever eaten. We lingered awhile as the ambience was so inviting and even though the patio was almost filled, we did not feel rushed. Bridges has a great reputation and for our weekday lunch, it certainly lived up to it."

  • "We were disappointed. The brunch menu was very limited and quite expensive. We had very few choices and the food was good but not spectacular. It just seems to us that Bridges on Sunday and Bridges at dinner are two different entities. Same kitchen staff?"

  • "I thought the cost was outrageous. My final bill for a fathers day lunch for 4 was $284. I will never go back there for a special occasion. Still getting up off the floor!"

  • "Father's Day brunch on the patio was excellent. There was a special menu for the day with three choices, one from each section. Some of us shared, which made the portions perfect. I had short rib hash for my main course, it was delicious! Eric Wiley was playing jazz, which was not to loud, and allowed conversation without having to shout across the table."

  • "My daughter took me to Bridges for Father's Day. It was wonderful as usual. We go there for most of our special occasion meals. The steak was great, the dessert was excellent and the service was perfect. Of course we will be back again soon for other special occasions."

  • "Service is so important when you are having brunch. The food was good, but now spectacular breakfast. But the waitress left us sitting for long periods of time. 20 minutes from when she dropped off the check to when she collected it. I watched her setting other tables near us, but she never looked at us. Where was the busboy. Not my idea of a good experience for the prices."

  • "Bridges is a lovely spot but the food wasn't great for the price from where I was sitting."

  • "it was OK. I think they have lost some of their "food" quality. I think they need to re-visit the menu and just get a little more updated. The location is great, the service is great, the atmosphere is lovely, it's just the food wasn't quite what I would expect for such a pricey meal. It lacked flavor in every dish. "

  • "We came in here for my son and his girl friend high school graduation. I called in advance for them to prepare a candle for both and their name on the plates. They did not forget. It came out prefect. The restaurant was very accommodating. I called them that I am half an hour late due to traffic on a Friday afternoon. They told me they will hold the table for us. The food was good. My swordfish was a tap cool. But was good. I came to this restaurant back in 2000. As most of us remembered the movie "Mrs Doubtfire" took place. Our server was good. She did not rush us even I finished my plate before my wife. I will come back here again."

  • "Outside dining green and lush, perfect. Great spacing between tables so you could carry on a conversation. Matt was our waiter he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive he made our dining experience very special. Our group all enjoyed the Monday-Wednesday specials. We will definitely return. "

  • "Enjoyed the ambiance, food, and server was excellent. Server provided good recommendations and enjoyed our special occasion. Looks like this would be a great place to visit on a warm summer evening."

  • "We have really loved lunch at Bridges but every time we go in for dinner it seems quite lackluster. Menu selection is rather boring and predictable. The Caesar salad needs more garlic and lemon, the lamb shank was just ok, somewhat dry. The pizzetta was disappointing, lacking flavor and the dough was not a good crust. Our server seemed quite inexperienced as she asked how I wanted the lamb shank cooked. With Revel new in town, Bridges better step it up a notch, or two."

  • "My wife and I had heard great things about Bridges. Had our 6th anniversary dinner there this weekend. Got a 5pm reservation, and showed up at about 4:40 thinking of getting a drink or two at the bar before. The girl who met us said that we were way early and they didn't open until 5pm so we had to leave. Went across the street to Basil Leaf for a drink. Who ever heard of that? Food was ok. My pork porterhouse was over cooked and my wife's short ribs were spectacular. They gave us a cupcake for our anniversary. "

  • "Having dined here for the third time, Bridges has not disappointed me yet. Pre-fix menu was terrific. Sufficient entree varieties to accommodate different types of meal preferences and the perfect ambiance for three birthday celebrations. The meal was enjoyed by all."
