Diner Reviews
  • "The hostess took 10 minutes to come to the station, and I made reservations for outside, but she sitted the couple before us outside, they had no reservations. She told us there wasn't any tables avaialbe and we would have to wait another 5-10 minutes, so we went to look outside and there was a few empty and she seated us outside. Confusing but food was EXCELLENT and our waiter was EXCELLENT!"

  • "We are never disappointed with Bridges. They have everything anyone could want in an upscale restaurant- seafood, steaks, chicken, duck and vegetarian. Wonderful service, great wine list."

  • "Bridges is a pleasant dining spot. The service and ambiance are just right for a nice luncheon. The food is above average, but not exciting. The lunchtime sandwich fillings are tasty combinations, but one friend pushed what looked to be hamburger buns off of her chicken curry sandwich in favor of the bread basket on the table. Bridges is more fun for its bar scene and happy hour with more interesting dishes paired with affordable cocktails. Weather permitting, the outside tables are plentiful and, with a location away from the main street, fairly quiet. I appreciate that noise is quite moderate and conversations are actually possible, unlike many dining destinations these days."

  • "We had a great time on a recent Friday night at Bridges for a date night. The food was delicious and the ambience and service were great. They were knowledgeable about what dishes were gluten-free which is helpful for a newly diagnosed person with Celiac. I'd highly recommend Bridges! I've been there for lunch too which was delish!"

  • "We have been to Bridges many times for lunch and dinner but this was our first brunch experience. Our table had the frittata, which was bland and really didn't seem to have any cheese in it, as described, though the truffle creme fraiche was very good. I had the bacon eggs benedict which was good, but the muffin was cold, and untoasted, which was disappointing. My husband ordered the belgian waffles, which were good, but very dry, so we asked for syrup which was brought out ice cold-not good. Even my husbands mimosa was not very good, the champagne was of poor quality. Though the prices were reasonable, the food lacked overall attention to detail and I am not sure we would go back for brunch."

  • "My co-author and I were meeting with our new marketing manager for the first time. There were excellent menu choices for dinner, and the service was attentive and friendly, without being a distraction. The restaurant was relatively quiet, so it was easy for us to get acquainted and talk about marketing plans."

  • "While tasty, the Caesar salad had too much yellow lettuce rather than nice green romaine. We had a slab of pork cut like a t-bone steak. It was very good but huge! The waitress was very delightful and attentive. Go ahead and try Bridges."

  • "From the minute I was greeted by the hostesses then sat at the bar to wait for my friend (the birthday girl!) to arrive, the dinner (food and service!) on the patio, and lastly, the after dinner drink back at the bar, I experienced such attentive service - it was truly amazing!! The staff was very accommodating and very, very personable - the whole evening was thoroughly enjoyed by me and the birthday girl - it was a memorable experience!!"

  • "The food was magnificent and our server was so nice. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary and they made it special. The kitchen did an excellent job and we won't wait for a special occasion to return (although the nice touch from the pastry shop made it even more memorable)."

  • "We went for the first time and had lunch. The menu was great, the service was wonderful and overall a very special day. We would recommend Bridges to anyone. Will return for dinner with friends. We live in the South Bay Area, but the drive is worth it."

  • "We went there as a "by the way" and we were plesantly surprised! Good food, really great prices and the service is great.. Maybe more egg dishes for brunch would be great. The portions are actually big enough for 2 people to comfortably share. The wine list is great! We went to the adjusent Vine later and enjoyed the half off bubbles on Sunday. Nice lil find for a Sunday and it's so close to home! Will definitely return."

  • "This time, I brought my sister and niece for their birthdays--their first time. We reserved a table for five. We truly had a great time, got great service from our waiter, Rick. We shared the ahi tuna dinner as an appetizer and all of us loved it; he Aztec forbidden rice that came with it was special. The scallop dinner was another hit, moist and succulent, & not overcooked. Bridges has always beena great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, what-not."

  • "We found Bridges to be a very nice restaurant, more casual than we had anticipated. Choosing a dinner was difficult as everything on the menu looked great. The meals we did choose were both very, very good. All of the staff were cordial and friendly however we both felt the service could have been a bit more attentive, twice had to request silverware be replaced when a course arrived."

  • "I wanted to try this restaurant since I first saw Mrs. Doubtfire almost two decades ago. I sat on the patio, tasted many wonderful dishes, and celebrated my birthday in style at Bridges. I live in Palo Alto but making the drive to Danville for this meal was more than worth it. Thanks for the wonderful service, Sean. My compliments to the chef!"

  • "I hadn't been to Bridges for awhile. My last time there was a very good experience. Saturday's brunch was quite disappointing. Service was slow. We asked for butter for our bread and it came when we had finished our meal. I waited a long time for an ice tea refill and had to flag down the waiter to pay the bill. Overall, not a good experience."

  • "Bridges is always great. The atmosphere is warm, upbeat and beautiful. Love the patio."

  • "Usually we eat here and the food is outstanding. The service is also often excellent. This time things were just a little off (waited initially about ten minutes for our server). Service was slow to start but picked up after our order was taken. Had the scallops which were a little on the fishy side (I have had these before and they are usually excellent). Again, just a slightly off night at a great place, we will be back."

  • "Bridges treats you like family. There is no other place like it. The entire staff, including the chef and part owner Kevin Gin, are exceptional at what they do. My wife and I enjoy fine dinning and this restaurant is at the top of our list. We come weekly.... Thank you Bridges!"

  • "Scallops that are cooked perfectly are hard to find. These are gems. Just right! The addition of a lovely sauce just enhances, but you never lose the flavor of the scallops. I have also eaten lunch at Bridges and the salads are original and very tasty. Happy hour has its own menu of delicious side dishes. Great place to gather."

  • "Bridges has met both "Excellent service and great food". It is important to me that the restaurant provides both good service and food. Otherwise, it does not reserve a five-star rating."

  • "Had a wonderful lunch outdoors on the patio and took the suggestions of waiter for selections and were not disappointed! Appreciated the service that was efficient but not intrusive so we could chit chat."

  • "This was an excellent experience. My wife and I booked this Danville favorite for our Valentine's dinner. While I the prices for the dinner where a bit high, it was Valentine's day and we knew this going in. From what I have heard the prices for the quality of food we received on non-commercialized- your wife will make you do this no matter what you say about the price-romance-day are quite good. Great experience."

  • "Brunch at Bridges was a very pleasant experience. The menu was not extensive, but what they offered looked intriguing. My husband and I both chose an Asian salad with Chinese cabbage, Asian noodles and grilled prawns. It was outstanding, and I would likely order that again if I were not so curious about the other items. We sat on the patio, which was lovely. The only drawback was that there were only a few tables occupied, and we felt that our server was not very attentive. Also, the very small Mimosa was almost as expensive as our salad!"

  • "Price fixe menu was boring and tasteless. They served the courses too quickly to turn the tables over for new diners. Would not recommend on these types of nights."

  • "Bridges is popular for a reason - the steak, salad, and sides I had were all excellent. My wife's Ahi was great as well. I don't drink wine, but my wife liked the list. The prices were not as high as I'd been led to expect (most expensive plates were around $30). Service was prompt and courteous, noise level was acceptable. A bit on the large-and-crowded side by not annoyingly so. Overall this is a safe bet for a date, and I'd be surprised at anyone having anything short of a very-good experience."

  • "Bridges is a long standing place to go for a great dining experience. They always have a nice selection of special martinis. I enjoy trying different drinks and they do not disappoint. They don't have a huge menu but what they do is perfection! The ambiance of the restaurant is romantic."

  • "When the kids were growing up, we went here more often (Mrs. Doubtfire location). So for a pre Valentine experience, we thought we return. Excellent, my wife loved the Okinawan sweetpotato gnocchi, and I went with the salmon. The gnocchi melted in your mouth."

  • "My sister was visiting and all she wanted to do was eat at the restaurant where Mrs. Doubtfire was filmed. It turned out to be excellent. I live here and go there a lot. I love it. Patio and Happy Hour are a fun thing to do."

  • "We went to Bridges for our wedding anniversary with four other friends. It's the first time to Bridges for all of us, and we were delighted we went there! We each ordered a cocktail - Martini, Margarita, Mojito..., and everyone liked it. We also ordered appetizers for the table: Crispy Chicken and Shrimp Spring Rolls, Warm Phyllo Wrapped Brie with Balsamic Honey, Vietnamese Pork and Prawns Wrap, Hand Crafted Pizzetta. They were delicious. The salads and main courses were very good, too: Pan Roasted Pork Porterhouse, Maple Leaf Duck Breast, Mexican Prawns with Thai Red Curry & Coconut Milk Sauce and Grilled Creekstone Farm New York Steak. Let's just say that we all left thinking that we should come back again!"

  • "I visit often and and am usually quite pleased. Not last Saturday where we were seated in the main dining room on a table that had metal chairs with plastic tops. That's not right for a classy place where meals run upwards of 60 dollars a person! In addition my favorite dish and my main reason for going, Portabella Wellington, was not available. Please bring it back! At least keep your online menu upto date so that those of us who expect the online menu to be accurate are not disappointed. Thanks."
