Anyway, better late than never. I'm not a regular beer drinker but I I loved the local ale of the season I was encouraged to try. So did my guest, who is a beer drinker.
The lunch menu offered good choices for our different tastes in food. I had a spinach and roasted beet salad because that's usually my fall-back choice when I'm feeling my way around a new menu. My guest had a roast pork sandwich. Not my thing, but he enjoyed it. We shared grilled shrimp for a starter. Everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented.
The restaurant is in a terrific riverside location. I was glad I chose it as a place to take my guest. Will go again.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMScenic DiningWonderful place to have lunch on the River! It didn't, but we were able to park down the street for an obscene $25. But the restaurant was well worth the parking tab. The hostess was delightful despite our tardiness and got us a table very quickly. All the staff members were friendly, patient and fast. The food was delicious, even the mussels with jalapenos, which blasted through my GI track like nitro through a dragster. We enjoyed everything: ceviche, mussels, wild mushrooms (wow!) and one other plate I can't even remember. Ambiance, too, was very pleasant. Sitting outside right along the river is great, and the decor is very nice. Food is always good between brunch or the small plates. Only order the horeshoe if you are starving and hungover!! I always am able to find a seat outside. The food is fantastic! Huge portions for reasonable prices. Whenever I have friends in town this is where I take them. The grits are fantastic, either with the shrimp, or on their own with added bacon. Entres were excellent as well, although $14 for the burger is a bit overpriced given how basic it is.
Excellent drinks, great view. Only complaint is that as attentive the service was at the beginning is how non-attentive it was at the end. Seems like our server disappeared when dinner ended. We struggled to get an after dinner drink and then even our check.
Given the energy, it was surpisingly, pleasantly controlled in noise. You could have an actual normal conversation and not have to yell at the person next to you.

It was too cold to eat on the terrace overlooking the river but that would be good on a warm day. The food was somewhat limited in choice but the dinners we chose were excellent (4 people, 4 different dishes). Great attentive service. Price seemed reasonable. Outdoor weather makes this an even better place to have drinks and then step inside for dinner when the weather cools down. Staff and owners do all they can. I have been here a number of times with business associates, this was the first time bringing the family. We all enjoyed our food and drinks (my kids are 21+). The food was absolutely delicious and our server Meigan was outstanding. She was so attentive and patient with our large and boisterous party.
