Food was great, service was not. I reserved a table for 8 for brunch on Sunday 3/18 3 weeks in advance. Knowing it would be crowded, I made it for the time the restaurant opens, so that we would be among the first seated. Unfortunately, the manager said they did not have our reservation and blocked off all OT reservations. Confused, I showed my confirmation and he apologized for the mix up and sat us right away. However, they had to piecemeal some small tables to smash us between 2 larger tables, so close that none of the servers could get by. Service was extremely slow and it was clear they were severely understaffed. We constantly had to ask for things like menus, water, coffee and utensils and it seemed other tables were just as annoyed.

pineapple martini. My partner had buffalo steak cooked to perfection. I had two appetizers: tender fried calamari in a seasoned crumb coating, tender as could be, and a bean crepe with two sauces, corn and spicey Creole-type which complemented each other. We are not big eaters so that was it, but such a delicious meal. Place is tucked in under the Brooklyn Bridge, and many pictures of the Bridge grace the walls. Service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Fairly priced for quality of meal.

I love this place! Great reasonably priced food in an unpretentious "old world" Manhattan setting -- exactly as advertised. They also have a great selection of whiskey and beer. As one of the oldest bars in NY with a storied past, it can draw a mix of tourist and locals and fill quickly. But don't go expecting white glove service; the relaxed, unhurried, yet very personable service is part of the charm. I made the unfortunate mistake of dining with some business colleagues, who failed to fully appreciate that. (I'll go back with a less serious crowd.)

A restaurant has occupied Bridge Cafe's space for more than 200 years, the restaurant advertises, and the slightly ramshackle ambiance is charming. Service is friendly, too. If only the food were good.

Really love this romantic restaurant. Perfect for a date. Only issue we had was that it was EXTREMELY hot. So much so that we almost walked out. Perhaps this was a one time thing and they were having a problem with their heater. Other than that, the food and service were good.
