Diner Reviews
  • "We made an early dinner reservation in hopes of having the best selection of a relative quiet spot to catch up with other. So many times we can't even hear our own conversations. This worked out well for the most part. It did get a little noisy at one point but wasn't too bad. It was a beautiful evening and lots of customers were taking advantage of dining outdoors. We took 3 1/2 hours for dinner and never felt rushed by our waitress. Everyone was very happy with the food. Their portions are good and prices are reasonable."

  • "Brickside is one of our regular favorites! We went to celebrate our 23rd anniversary and as always, we were not disappointed!! Our waiter, Michael, was very attentive even though he was quite busy with tables both inside and outside (beautiful day). The food is always consistently good -- prociutto shrimp appetizer is my wife's favorite. Very pleasant surprise at the bar with an excellent selection of beers (Ithaca Flower Power was today's choice!) and a great Scotch in the Highland Park 15. We'll be back soon!!"

  • "We went for brunch, which is always good. Nice selection. Brickside does have the best prime rib. It is one of the items on the brunch menu as well as on their dinner menu. For the oyster lover, they have several selections."

  • "Brickside Grille is very predictable. Food is good, atmosphere is very nice, service is about the best in the area and a great point of relaxation. We always enjoy our meal and we always note that the manager and staff never stop moving. Definitely a place to keep on our "go back to" list."

  • "We often go to Brickside Grille and have always enjoyed it. This time was not the best! The nachos were a it dry, not really moorish. The steak was so fatty and marled, really disappointed. Our children ate this and 1/2 of their meal on the plate was fat. The wine and drinks (good selection) were great. We usually have pizza and salad which is delicious. Will forget entrees next time Nd stick with what they do best - pizza and salad!"

  • "We come to Brickside all of the time and we have seen it start to decline. The service used to be excellent but we had bad service for the 3rd time in row. We will be back for the summer concerts... hopefully they will have new wait staff by then."

  • "We always have outstanding meals and service when dining at The Brickside. Excellent food, waitstaff, and we love the entertainment on Sundays for the little ones."

  • "The Brunch was excellent (a very good selection of menu items) and the service was superb!"

  • "We have been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. Since we live on the neighborhood it is very convenient. Have actually walked there on occasions."

  • "We went for brunch for the first time and were blown away! Everything was amazing! Our service was excellent and the food was delicious! We commented on coming back every Sunday! I would strongly recommend reservations for the brunch. We had them for a party of 6. People walking in were told 30-45 minute wait for no reservations. We will be back for sure!"

  • "Always a good choice, very good food, good wine and very good service. Not romantic, more bar scene. Enjoy"

  • "As usual dining at the Brickside was great. My husband had the Lamb Stew and claimed it was the best he has ever eaten. Definitely one of our favorite spots!"

  • "We go to the Brickside often--at least twice a month, but generally more. The service is great and the food is always very good. My meal on Saturday was exceptional--a pecan encrusted chicken that was sumptuous, along with candied carrots (not too soft, not too sweet) and very tasty wild rice. Add some fine wine at the beginning and come cappuccino at the end for an all-round enjoyable meal."

  • "I go especially for the prime rib - great natural flavor and the au jus is not over seasoned. My wife likes the seafood and they have a top notch oyster selection. It's one of our regular stops. The bar menu is also excellent (prime rib sandwich, nachos, oysters...). Very comfortable but it is loud - filled with people having fun!"

  • "Great buffet really worth the money since it includes the raw bar. still wish they would have waffles and sugar free syrup (really, is that too hard, sf syrup is available in any grocery store). The frittatas are a nice touch but usually dry and overcooked so I gave up trying to order them. servers are always very nice and very attentive. Sometimes when they have too many private parties. regular patrons get stuck in the noisy and crowded bar area."

  • "This was perfect for my husbands birthday dinner celebration. The resturant was very accomadating with our seating requests (a table larger than our party so there was room for a cake and gifts, needing a highchair ect). The atmosphere both inside and outside of the resturant is wonderful. It wasn't very crowded and even if every table were filled, the area is large so it doesn't feel crammed."

  • "The meals we had were all very good. Service was good, also. The restaurant was pretty noisy and seating was a little tight ( tables were close together ). All in all, it was good and we will go back."

  • "Our server, Michael, was pleasant and efficient. He was thoroughly familiar with the menu and specials. His wine recommendation was spot on. Although we have eaten at Brickside several times, we brought a "first time" couple with us. They were equally impressed with the food and service. Thanks for making us look good."

  • "I can't believe this restaurant is in our backyard. The food was delicious and our server, Andy, was fantastic. We had a last minute business dinner and were accommodated quite well. Thank you."

  • "Everything was wonderful from the fresh HOT rolls to the ice cream at the end. Unfortunately, the fire brick oven was not working so the pizza was not its usual best, which is not the normal. Very pleasant atmosphere, had a great time."

  • "Pleasant people but the warm beer and cold food did not do It for me."

  • "This was the second time my wife and I have eaten here. But for their error and omission everything was great. Nice service. They allowed a move from an aisle table in their traffic lane to a booth. The booth was much nicer than being in the thoroughfare of waiter/ patron traffic. Once in our booth the waiter was informed friendly. We sampled some beer before deciding on one. We enjoyed the beer we selected. The bread was great. The oyster sample was great. The conch soup was good. The only complaint I have is that,THEY FORGOT THE BACON ON MY BACON CHEESEBURGER! I pointed this out to the waiter and she was embarrassed. Instead of bringing me a new burger with bacon, they offered to bring me a side of bacon! HUH? No thanks,I replied."

  • "I've been critical in the past of Brickside, mainly because they failed to add vegetarian specials to replace their still broken pizza oven. Well the pizza oven is still down, but they have added a vegetable ravioli dish to the specials, at least for February. We were there early on a Friday evening. The bar was packed and loud. My wife & I were looking for a quiet meal. When they tried to seat us in the area near the bar, we had to have a "discussion" to get a table in the part of the dining room further away from the bar area. After that, it was an enjoyable meal - good food & god service."

  • "My new sweetie and I had a great evening at the Brick side. The food was very good and everything I expected. The service was flawless, the waiter was probably the best waiter I have seen in a long time. He did not miss a beat and he let us alone to enjoy each other. I love the mixed atmosphere of people. The bar area people did their thing and they looked like they were having a good time. The people dining were a mixed crowd of couples, families of parents with children, and small groups of friends. I love the fact that children are welcomed, they are just little people doing their thing... I give the Brick Side 5 stars... Good Job to everyone..."

  • "The food is always good at Brickside. We had a later reservation so one of the specials wasn't available but there were other great selections. Sunday brunch is great at Brickside..."

  • "Have been to the Brickside a number of times as I live locally. I have entertained business colleagues and family there. Service is always very good and the menu is diverse enough to appeal to everyone. The Brickside always provides a nice environment for all types of get-togethers."

  • "We have dined here for both lunch and dinner, but our favorite is the Sunday brunch, which offers a large selection of choices, including oysters and eggs benedict. They do offer mimosas. Add bellinis as an option for brunch and this place would be perfect!"

  • "Very nice buffet brunch at Brickside. Good choices and very good food in a very casual, friendly atmosphere. A nice touch is that you can order Eggs Benedict as part of what is included in the price."

  • "Picked this restaurant to accommodate a group of seven people - some picky, some not. I let our server know when we arrived that we were going to a play that night and needed to be served promptly. I wish I remembered his name because he was GREAT! Every meal was delicious and served within a few minutes of each other. No one had to wait. Thank you Brickside!"

  • "This place is in our neighborhood, so we try to stop by a few times a year. The menu is getting a bit predictable so it's not easy to find something to get excited about anymore. Ended up splitting a mushroom pizza which was pretty good even though it was using gluten-free dough (they are doing this because the normal ovens are being refurbished). Had some black bean & turkey soup, which was a special, and it was very good - very salty and very little beans & turkey in it. The local stout beer I chose was not very good. It was a Friday night so it was very loud inside, with most of the noise coming from the bar area. Service was acceptable."

  • "Relaxing at a friendly, umbrella-shaded table by the lovely commons of Towne Center, with its gazebo, pond and weekly concerts, is a Chester County tradition at Brickside in great weather. But it's a cozy haven on a frigid night as well. Sunday features a terrific dinner special...a prime rib dinner, including the signature Caesar salad and a glass of house vino, for $19.99! The menu is creative, and dinners change monthly, with a core group of favorites always available. Huge and well made nachos too! Enjoy!"
