  • "In the past couple of months, I have met a couple of friends for a drink and a light meal. The Ahi Tuna appetizer is the best and always consistent. We weren't happy with the chicken salad--rather bland. However, I have had good meals in the past and would recommend it. The atmosphere is good, casual, and you can have a good conversation."

  • "Our waiter seemed rushed and distracted. Instead of introducing himself and asking for drinks orders he seemed to want to rush us into ordering everything as soon as we sat down. He then didn't write anything down and forgot two appetizers. One glass of wine arrived ten minutes after the others. Entrees arrived in haphazard order. The food itself seemed fine, it just wasn't possible to enjoy the experience given the quality of the service. A shame really, since the lace looked quite nice. I daresay we'll give it another chance in the future."

  • "I had the flank steak. It was tender, juicy and cooked to order, but, it was kind of small. I would have liked a few more ounces. However, everything else, including the desert, flour less chocolate cake was excellent."

  • "I've enjoyed my meals every time I've come to this restaurant. The menu isn't extensive, but the food is tasty, the service friendly and good and the prices are reasonable. Last time I ate here was at the bar for happy hour, which I think is every night. Great prices on tasty small plates that you can make a meal out of! The glass wines are on tap so you don't have to worry about a spoiled glass of wine either!"

  • "I hope never to be go back..the host seemed high on coke, the waiter was friendly but a nervous wreck and the food was okay, when we got it.We were the first peopel seated in the back room and the last to get our dinner. The whole place smells of stale beer and the bar scene is from 1989. WON'T be going back."

  • "This is our 3rd time back, I am not sure if they were short staffed but we waited over 10 minutes to be seated to our table, the host was busy, we waited more than 10 minutes before our waiter came to our table, since my previous times were better, I'll give it another chance but feel the waiting time was unacceptable."

  • "We almost gave up due to lack of parking. Once we attempted to park in another lot down the street and walk to the restaurant, we were seated right away. The place was busy and noisy in the bar area, even on a weeknight! The menu had great options, food was tasty and served to us very quickly -- we were impressed!"

  • "It's a little pricey for a weekly go to kind of place but that makes it a bit more special. Everything this visit was great. The best is the kids menu steak offering. For 9 dollars your little one gets a healthy sized portion OF the 26 dollar steak dinner. Incredible value and if order it myself if I had a fake ID."

  • "Food was not as good as previously and certainly not worth the price."

  • "My husband and I were on the way to SF from Santa Rosa and we were getting too hungry to wait to get to the city. I googled restaurants in Corte Madera and found Brick and Bottle. We booked our reservation via open table and 20 minutes later were seated at a lovely corner booth. Excellent service, excellent food and wine. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant for future date nights away from the kiddos. :-) "

  • "I didn't want to comment abt this restaurant openly but wanted to speak to the GM first who never returned my call even after leaving a detailed message wanting to give him my negative comments and not on Open Table for all to see. The Romaine Hearts Salad was too salty/thick with ordinary romaine, and in contrast to the original artisan baby romaine salad they had served before. B and B previously obtained their baby romaine from a local artisan farm which had a light & tasteful dressing. The Skirt Steak was so tough that we literally gave up in struggling to cut the "leather-like" meat. The Pot Roast was so-so---a small portion and not delectable. The mash potatoes were warm. In contrast, the Sweet Corn Succotash was delicious."

  • "This location has seen several restaurants come and go across the past twenty some years. This one, hopefully, will be around for awhile. My wife and I entertained four out of town guests at dinner and each remarked at the fine quality of their meal. Our server was okay but was lacking in the polish that I would have expected from the mature woman she was. Entrees varied from grilled salmon with succotash (yes succotash!) to hamburger and fries. Friday night featured corkage without charge and our bottle of Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc was a nice addition to the meal. Desserts were fabulous including my my lemon tart - yum!"

  • "Head over for the early bird dinner specials. It's especially great on Fridays where corkage is FREE! The menu changes, so call ahead to see what's cooking for that day! Bon appetite!"

  • "Locked out of all the big spots in the Bay Area as a late booker, I found this place through a Google search of good mother's day brunches. It's a great little spot tucked away in a quiet shopping center. Normally I wouldn't love the idea of a shopping center as the setting for my wife's mother's day brunch, but the patio has a great view of Mt. Tam, and the food is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone in the area looking for a nice-casual meal."

  • "First time there. Would like to go for dinner to be able to select specific food. Brunch was good. The short rib hash browns were great. "

  • "It is such a shame that the restaurant is so ugly, loud & poorly designed, because the food is terrific & the menu is great. Over the years I have hesitated going to this restaurant specifically because I hate the atmosphere so much. I can't think of any other restaurant where the poor design has actually kept me away. It's really unfortunate, as it could be one of Marin's top restaurants with a re-design."

  • "When we booked through Open Table, a pop-up message told us that the restaurant would keep our table for 15 minutes beyond the reservation time, but would then release it. After a difficult journey, we were, unfortunately, ten minutes late. We found our reservation had been cancelled, so we then had to wait for another table to become available. If the pop-up message had not appeared, we would have called to say we were going to be a little late. So the moral of this little tale is don't rely on messages like that. My wife order a hamburger, done medium-well. When it arrived, it was medium rare. This was quickly remedied with a new one. These experiences didn't affect our enjoyment of the meal itself and we'd still go back again."

  • "This place made for an enjoyable, nice quality dinner with friends. Good wine list, and nice choice of entree options, including Gluten Free choices for friends who might need this. We had the tuna tartare for an appetizer, it's a nice size and VERY tasty. Also shared the flourless chocolate "cake" which was quite luxurious and good for sharing."

  • "Great food and Great ambience. This is the second time that we've been to this restaurant, both times were for birthday celebrations. We made same day reservations for a party of six and were sat immediately. Two people in our group have dietary sensitivities (gluten & dairy). There were several menu options for them to choose from. The waitress helped make recommendations for the items that needed to be substituted. We were sat at the chefs table and the chef, popped by to make sure all was well. I've never rated a restaurant before but the food and the service were exceptional. I would have felt inconsiderate not reviewing. "

  • "absolutely fabulous food in a casual and unpretentious setting. The roasted artichokes are a must. As good as anything we have had in upscale restaurants in the city. My husband had the short ribs which were beautifully presented and couldn't have been more tasty and tender. My petrale over crab mashed potatos was amazing. The service was wonderful and we felt extremely satisfied. We will be back!"

  • "I had been looking forward to going to Brick and Bottle for awhile. The service was good but they overcooked my burger and the Malbec was not that good. On the positive the artichoke appetizer I had was delicious."

  • "Front door reception area is confusing. We stood about for several minutes waiting to be helped. We were never greeted and several staff walked past us uninterested. Almost walked out. We were finally greeted by the hostess. Service at the table was good."

  • "The food was good but the environment was noisy and the server was not very sensitive. She kept interrupting us in the middle of conversation and it seemed like she was trying to hurry us up. That constant interruption spoiled the experience for us, although the food was very good."

  • "A very nice if not a little load describes our experience. The menu read well. The kitchen doesn't work as well. I had the applewood smoked pork. I figured it would be very sweet with a decent smoke, accompanied with the jalapeño cole slaw would cut it nicely and add some complexity. Wrong. No jalapeños in the slaw. Asked for some chopped up. Brought chopped bell pepper, no heat, no flavor. Pork shoulder steak, super sweet,. hardly smoked. Just a waste of time. The muscle appetizer was surprisingly good! Third time time I've been here. It does not get better."

  • "A friend raved about B&B so we finally decided to try it. My sautéed shrimp appetizer was fantastic - best dish of anyone's that evening. But my wife's salad was a bit soggy. My grilled skirt steak was decent but not off the charts. My wife's margarita pizza looked great but was bland and disappointing. The service was okay but could have been much better. At least two items we asked for, we had to ask again. That is unacceptable in my book. Overall we rated it a 7.5."

  • "This is a good stop for a nice dinner for folks who cannot abide chain-type restaurants. Staff friendly but not annoying. Good food, prepared nicely. I'd return if in the area"

  • "We picked this restaurant to try something new in town and the menu looked good. We ordered the tuna tartar appetizer - the portion was generous, but it had no flavor. It needed some wasabi or salt or seasoning. For dinner, I asked the waiter about the pork chops - specifically if they would be dry and he said no. Unfortunately, they were dry and had no flavor. The butternut squash puree side tasted like baby food. My husband ordered the pork shoulder - it also was dry. This restaurant is in a great location - the owner should get a great chef and it would do well."

  • "Restaurant is loud which makes it good for kids but no printed kid menu - server has to verbally give you the kids menu. Never received bread even after asking. Hamburger was wonderful; steak and ahi tuna were okay."

  • "When a hostess tells you "I have a lovely table for you" it's their way of saying "You're getting a choice of bad tables, out of sight." I know, I am a host myself. Sitting in the back room of what looks like a Tahoe log cabin bar, complete with old wreaths decorated with Christmas lights, our table honestly sucked! Too small, against a pole, and with the runners and back waits bringing out multiple courses sooner than they should or expected, my dining guest immediately went into critique mode and wondered how this place even got any recommendations at all. The timing was off, even at our request, the drink I had was blah, and the starters ok, but the main courses lacked flavor. All in all it was an experience to remember, poorly."

  • "After movie early dinner. 6:30 Sides of mac and cheese and spinach were excellent, and more than enough for a meal. We used to go regularly when they offered an "early bird special" and bring your own wine, and they donated corkage to local charities. Bar scene VERY loud and we were unable to hear each other talk, so ask for a table in the back room, if you want conversation."

  • "Arrived little before 6:30 so was offered prix. fix menu as well as regular one. Three items were outstanding. Don't usually eat that much but this was good. This was a Saturday night so was pleasantly surprised to get this offering. I would go back. Also, good cocktails."

  • "Although this is a relatively new restaurant the interior looks tired and dowdy. We sat near 'banquet' room and was underwhelmed by ambiance. Ghastly interior. Mediocre food."

  • "We were a party of four that were seated close to the bar...had to shout to hear each other. We asked to move to another table further away from the noise. Service and food were very good, if you go (especially on a Friday night) request a table way in the back if you want to have a decent conversation."

  • "We went on Valentine's Day and it was absolutly wonderful. They were booked solid, but the service was perfect, friendly, efficient. Food was outstanding! We were not rushed in the least even though every table was occupied."

  • "I took my wife of 30 years here for Valentine's Day. I spent about $150 bucks, not including tip, which included 2 glasses of wine each, and one dessert. The food was good, but nothing special. My wife had oysters on half shell as an appetizer - they were kinda small, and not as good as the ones at our local neighborhood bar, especially for the price. There is no view of anything (bay, ocean, etc). Since it is not particularly close to me, I probably will not go back. But were it in my neighborhood, I might go a couple of times a year for a semi special occasion."
