A word from Bricco
Bricco’s star has been rising steadily since restaurateur Frank DePasquale revamped the menu to feature modern interpretations of regional Italian dishes.

Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.

The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.

Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with a full dinner menu.

We were excited to dine here as we had read such great reviews of the chef and restaurant. We decided to stick with pasta dishes as its known for its creative Italian cuisine. The 3 of us ordered 3 different pastas, 1 being a special. We were very underwhelmed by the food. It was expensive and didn't taste like anything I could have put together in my own kitchen. Maybe we didn't order the right things. The waitress acted like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Personally, we couldn't recommend it.

not fantastic. Good service, food pricey for what actually arrived. Caprice saiad was skimpy and Mista salad was dry and almost all greens. Entrees were average, nothing special. We love high energy places but the noise level here was excruciating loud. We had to actually shout to be heard across our table. This forced which a quick dinner..... with dessert down the street.

I went to Bricco with a couple of my girlfriends for dinner. We all work in the service industry and are fairly understanding of and empathetic to servers, however the service was inexcusable. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone even came to great us. We were there for a half hour before getting our wine. After dropping off our wine, our server took our dinner order. The food took a long time to come out and our server never checked on us once it did. After our meals we ordered espresso martinis and we never saw our server again. About 20 minutes after finishing our drinks we finally asked another server where our server was and he responded she had left. We weren't notified, there was no transition, no one even stopped by our table when we were clearly sitting there for 15-20 minutes with empty plates and glasses.

We went here to celebrate my 30th birthday and it did not disappoint. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, and the service from our waiter Salvatore was great. We had the zucchini flowers and Caesar salad to start- absolutely loved the fried ricotta cheese balls in the salad in place of croutons. I had the tortellini pumpkin and my fiancé had the seafood risotto and both were wonderful. The food was unique and just had so much flavor. It was one of the best meals I've ever had out, and as a picky eater with high standards, that's saying a lot. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning in the future!

As someone who grew up in an Italian household, I tend to hold Italian restaurants to high standards. Bricco was a great all around experience from welcome to bar to the food. It's non-traditional so if you're looking for spaghetti and meatballs then look elsewhere. The Osso Bucco was among the best I've had!

    Celebration
    Dined on 11/21/2014
We were at Bricco for a multiple celebration one son was admitted to the Bar that afternoon, tour other son had just received a promotion that very morning morning and my wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. The hostess and server for our table helped us select a combination of appetizers and pastas family style . We ordered individual Secondi . Champagne flowed, the stuffed zucchini and procuitto appetizers we shared were beautifullt presented and substantial. We then shared two pastas family style : the papadele with wild boar Ragu and the pumpkin tortelloni . The pasta itself was delicious and Al Dente and the two choices selected by our lovely server complemented each other beautifully. The short ribs and the veal chop Secondi were substantial; my wife and I each brought some home in a doggie bag. We also brought home the chop bones for the family pooches. We skipped desserts to go to Modern Pastry next door to buy lobster tail pasteries to bring home , but had coffees and espresso at Bricco. The complimentary limoncello was a welcome digestif. The only downsides were (1) the potatoe accompanying the Veal chop was stone cold as if it just came out of the refrigerator and (2) while sitting on the first floor is lovely, the front door sent Arctic breezes into the dining room every time the door was opened. The over -the -door heater was not doing its job. Those two things aside we all agreed that Bricco was an exceptional place to celebrate and we had a great time and definetly visit Bricco again . If I could make one suggestion it would be for Bricco to have three or four course prix fix menu items .

  • Anniversary Dinner on a Saturday Night
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 11/15/2014
My husband and I planned a dinner last Saturday at Bricco for our anniversary. Our reservations were for 645 and we were seated on time. However, we discovered that our table was located on the third floor of the restaurant which involved climbing some pretty steep stairs up narrow stairways that were also used by servers carrying trays with multiple meals. We were led to a table that seemed like it had been wedged in an aisle to fit in some extra seating. It was so dark that we could barely see the menu and so loud that we had to raise our voices to have a conversation. The food was okay but I would not recommend this restaurant because I feel that a tthe prices charged, we should expect a more enjoyable dining experience. We enjoy dining out and do not mind if meals are expensive as long as the ambience, food, and service are worth it. Bricco was okay but not great.

Fantastic spot for a great food and ambiance. Service was impeccable. Excellent wine list. I had a whole, roasted branzino that was cooked perfectly, and a special appetizer with burrata that was the creamiest, most delicious I had ever had. It must have been made in-house (or in the are) that day. Nice place for a date.

Went to Bricco this past Saturday night for my wife's 40th Bday. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was a bit over priced, although it is the N End, I have eaten at other restaurants and feel this was a bit pricier. Overall, a very good experience, we both got the seafood Risotto which was filling and very well made. I would recommend Bricco for a N End dining experience.

Chose Bricco for dinner because of its close proximity to the Improv venue. We were celebrating a friends birthday. The food was amazing - we all shared the wild boar pasta as an appetizer - it was amazing! The dinner was also delicious. The restaurant also brought our a nice birthday treat for the birthday girl - flourless chocolate cake. Was the perfect girls night out dinner location and we will be back for sure.

Food was very good overall in a very good environment. It was elegant but at the same time the restaurant was loud and everyone could just relax and have fun. The bar was fantastic place to grab a drink before dinner also. In terms of food, I liked there handmade pasta and we also shared an octopus appetizer that was very good. The service was great they were polite attentive but at the same time they gave us enough space so they weren't to in your face. The only thing I would change was the ceasar the dressing was a little to thick in my opinion. But the main courses and app was top notch.

We were visiting Boston from Denver and wanted to eat in the historic North End. Our concierge at The Liberty Hotel recommended Bricco and it was nothing short of amazing. We had an 8pm reservation on a Saturday night and the restaurant is trendy/hip but has a warming atmosphere as well. The bar is awesome and the bartenders are extremely nice and eager to make you a fun drink. The food was amazing (try the zucchini florets) and the service was impeccable. After dinner our waiter kindly reserved 2 seats for us at the bar where we had THE BEST espresso martini EVER. If you don't visit Bricco while you are in Boston, you'll be missing out.

Took a colleague to dinner while visiting on business and this was recommended by one of our local guys...who was eating at Bricco's that night as well but with a date. The service was perfect...not intrusive, very knowledgeable, everything was well timed...never felt rushed, never felt abandoned, food appeared about the time you started to think about wanting it. Rarely do I just go with what the waiter recommends but other than selecting my own wine, the specials sounded fantastic from the salad to the entree and they were. The portions were perfect, I like to eat all the different courses in a meal...not get filled up by my app...I will return and would recommend Bricco's for any purpose.

Even at 7:15 the restaurant was very busy, but we were seated only a couple of minutes late. Our server was very personable and friendly. We split the Frittura Mista - the best calamari ever- very fresh!! The Pappardelle Al Cinghiale was very hearty and the pasta special was delicious. The atmosphere is quite loud, but you get used to it soon enough. The Bread Pudding was a little dry for my taste, and the Apricot Ricotta Cheese Cake was not my husband's favorite. We would certainly return to Bricco for the appetizers and the homemade pasta dishes and maybe skip dessert.

We celebrated my mother's 70th birthday this past Saturday with a walk around Boston and a dinner at Bricco in the North End. The restaurant had come highly recommended and it did not disappoint! Six of us split 3 appetizers and 3 pastas - each more delicious than the last. Main dishes were just as delicious - not a compliant in the bunch. Service also makes a meal and it was also perfect - Salvatore was extremely professional while being engaging, fun and interested in ensuring our whole group had a great time. At one point my son dropped a fork on the floor - quietly - and within 10 seconds someone in a suit came over to replace it. Mom my said overall it was one of the best meal experiences she had ever had. We will be going again.

My sister, niece and aunt came up from PA. They wanted seafood during their stay but agreed one night should be different fare. They suggested Italian, and immediately I chose Bricco. You can't lose in the charming North End, but Bricco is very special. It was Friday night and packed, which gave a good impression to them that this place was special. I had read complaints about the noise level at Bricco, but really it was fine. Energetic was they way it really was. The food was wonderful. My biggest disappointment wasn't from Bricco, but from my family, as they all ordered light pasta dishes when I think they would've loved some of the Secondi dishes. The waiter was ok, but didn't make any connection with us. We didn't even learn his name.

We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately despite the crowdedness ,at a nice table. Drinks were excellent, appetizers were very good but the entrees were disappointing. The pork chop was tough and overdone, the striped sea bass was too salty. Risotto was reported as good. Desserts were a disappointment except for the cheese plate. After going to Il Buco in NY many times, we were expecting a similar experience and equally as delicious food but left disappointed by both at Bricco. Things were very rushed once seated.
