Bricco - HarrisburgGreat Father's Day CelebrationWe enjoyed the small plates & appetizers especially the clams & meatballs. The best peas I ever had.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect in every wayWe had Father's Day dinner and could not have been more pleased. Our server was so helpful, the food was wonderful, and the entire evening was one of the best dining experiences we have had in Harrisburg. We eat in D.C. And NYC and Bricco's ranks right up there.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing FoodWe had the made-to-order mozzarella, and it was absolutely incredible. The calamari was cooked perfectly. My date had the crab cakes which were good, but I had a duck ragout, which was absolutely amazing. I have never been disappointed in my food at Bricco. One time I had some strange service. (the waitress only brought 1 entree for the 2 of us, and said she didn't remember me ordering anything...) But the service this past visit was perfect. I was surprised it wasn't busier on a Friday night. We had a great time & a great meal.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Surprise in HarrisburgMy husband and I went to Bricco for dinner during our mini vacation in Harrisburg. It was a wonderful time all around, the food was well thought out and had a wonderful depth to it. I loved seeing the pizza station at work! All of the food we ordered was cooked very well. Our server was very gracious! My crab cakes were lovely!!!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVeryGoodWe had a very good bottle of Barbera for $44. Thought the bread was delicious.
I really enjoyed the butter sage sauce on the potato gnocchis but thought it overwhelmed the gnocchi and the peas seemed uncooked. My husband's calamari was very good.
I enjoyed my braised short rib, although again the peas seemed uncooked. My husband had the tuna special and while expensive he said it was very good.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWe hosted a graduation luncheon for our son here. I asked for a quiet table because we have several grandparents in the mix who have trouble hearing. Bricco gave us a perfect table in a quiet spot. Food was good, with portions just right for lunch (I don't think anyone was over-full) and nice, diverse options. My youngest son ordered the sage pappardelle with duck ragu. We decided he had won the prize for best choice. Amazing.
Bricco has been our go-to for special occasions. We like the fact that it's a school, and it has been consistently high-quality, professional, and delicious. We'll be back.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellamt experienceI choose Bricco to celebrate my wife's birthday. She thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. She's the foodie (I'm more a meat & potatoes kind of guy). Her duck ragout was prepared perfectly as was my steak. Even after claiming to be full she was poaching the asparagus from my plate. Our server was attentive but never intrusive. All in all a great experience.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOne word...Amazing!Everything about Bricco is down right amazing (is the best I can describe it)! The food, service and atmosphere is one of a kind in which I have not been able to find anywhere else!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a pizza, which was excellent,I had a pizza, which was excellent, and a nice glass of wine. The bread and olive oil provided is wonderful - as good as I have had at any restaurant. My waitress was extremely pleasant and attentive and provided great service.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in HarrisburgI travel for a living and eat out 4-5 nights a week. I have been to Bricco many times and find it to be one of the best restaurants I have visited. Their duck pasta is UNBELIEVABLE as is the rest of their menu. The restaurant is affiliated with the local culinary institute so all ingredients are super fresh, locally grown and fantastic! I would highly recommend this restaurant for entertaining or just a night out. Decent wine list and great service!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Place to CelebrateHad a delightful evening celebrating a special event with some friends. I highly recommend Bricco to anyone who is looking for a romantic evening or just looking for some absolutely delicious food. I seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about Bricco. Definitely one of the best restaurants I have ever found. A bit pricey, but for the quality and experience it was worth it.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBRICCO EXCELS AGAIN!Consistently high quality food, excellent preparation, imaginative menu that changes seasonally! Really the best restaurant in the Harrisburg area that we've been too. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality food, unique dishes and very good service. Enjoyed an appetizer of fresh spring peas with smoked feta cheese seasoned with grilled red onion & mint; main dishes: risotto with mushrooms, asparagus & spring onions; shrimp ravioli with asparagus butter sauce; Florida red grouper sauteed & roasted on a bed of spring vegetable succotash with spring onion pesto. What an incredibly tasty and creative use of very fresh ingredients - no frozen veg's here. Try the "Cafe Excellence" coffee - superb! Go to Bricco to be WOWED!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMServiceThe staff at Bricco is very good and is always pleasant. A pleasure to Dine there.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBRICCO is a great place to dine!I am a recent HACC graduate and decided to celebrate my graduation there. The quality of customer service was evident from the moment we arrived. The food selection was wonderful and the selections that we made was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and did not ignore the two kids we had with us. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone whether they are foodies, want a different place for lunch than the normal grind, or want a special dinner out with loved ones or associates.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food.Bricco's makes most delicious Duck Pappardelle, really very very tasty; I had it there on a number of occasions and I really like it. What's also awesome is they let you buy half sized portions of some entrees so you are not overstuffed before going to a show later. I recommended that duck dish to my friend and she enjoyed it too. They have great breads, they have interesting little appetizers and tasty small guilt-free-sized desserts. Our server was attentive but not overbearing, and the dining experience most pleasant.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways leave satisfied.We have dined at Bricco a number of times over the past years. The menu is always changing. No matter what you order, it is always good. Service is always prompt and professional. Our every need is always met while we are here. This is really a special place
;Both the food and service is excellent.
The beef short ribs were perfect and fell off the bone / served with a near pefect rissoto ;
I started with the cream garlic tomato soup which is a favourite ; very smooth and not overpowering.
My wife had the Papedelle and Sage pasta which has been on their menu for several years and is" to die for" says my wife ( and she knows her pastas) ;
Heather was our server ; if you are lucky you will be in her section.

It was a great choice for my husband's birthday dinner!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday dinner.Restaurant was not too busy, although a large group came in while we were eating (12 in all). Service was a little slow at first, but picked up nicely. We had the leek soup, which was outstanding, as well as the salmon special and the ravioli special. Each, very good. All in all, we had a very nice experience at Bricco.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMStaff and foodWaitress staff was very knowledgeable helpful and friendly. Food was top notch and will be back.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWent on a Thursday nightWent on a Thursday night to celebrate my wife's birthday. We weren't disappointed. We were seated in the front dining room with a view of the open kitchen. It was quiet despite being in the center of the action. Service was impeccable without being intrusive and the food was delicious as always. We will be back again and again.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe sat at a high top tableWe sat at a high top table in the bar for happy hour and enjoyed everything we ordered. The bartender was extremely attentive and made sure that he didm not neglect us or his patrons at the bar. We ordered a variety of oysters, $1.50 each in the bar area from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm and they arrived perfectly shucked over ice with the name of each type written on an empty shell so that we knew which ones we were sampling. They were outstanding. Their menu is adventurous and locally sourced and we have never been disappointed here.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWait Staff and Food are justWait Staff and Food are just outstanding. WE WERE CELEBRATING WITH OUR GROWN CHILDREN THAT WERE IN FROM OUT-OF-TOWN AND TRULY ENJOYED EVERYTHING ABOUT BRICCO'S. THE FOOD, WINE, AND SERVICE WERE OUTSTANDING. WOULD WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Bricco is firstThe food at Bricco is first rate and the menu changes every month so lots of variety. Great appetizers and half orders of pasta allow for sharing. Top recommend.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! Food is great,Great place! Food is great, and service is as well!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMixed experienceWe got there at 6:15 on a Friday, so the happy hour crowd was still there, which gave the atmosphere a fun vibe. Unfortunately, that also slowed our service down and we didn't leave until 8:45pm. Our waiter was working hard, but he just took a very long time to get back to us at each stage of our meal.
We started with raw oysters which were very fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the person who brought them to us didn't explain which varieties were where on the platter, so we didn't know which varieties we were eating. The beef tips were tender and had a fantasic savory sauce. The trout with capers was well cooked and well seasoned. The gnocchi was rather grainy. A good night, not a great one.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Was pleasantlyGreat food. Was pleasantly surprised to find so many gluten-free options. Waiter was very anxious to please.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBricco is a gem!Bricco is incredible! Great food and drink. The creamy tomato soup is gourmet. Their red sauce is awesome. The tiramisu is outta this world unique and delicious. The staff are outstanding in attentiveness, consideration, helpfulness, and knowledge. The wine list is amazing (pricey...but worth it for a special occasion).4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSupport your local...The combination of the local produce and other ingredients with the homemade breads and desserts by culinary students make this a perfect way to support the community and have a fine dining experience. The drink menu is fun and inventive. The mini desserts are a great way to treat yourself without going overboard. Press pots of coffee are available now too. The fact that they are open Sundays is a big plus.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMYou won't regret eating hereThe food was well prepared and extremely flavorful. I think I was just expecting a more eclectic and unique menu and most of it was fairly tame. I might even say comfortably familiar. Nontheless, if you are jonesing for good pasta or a nice roast beast, you won't regret choosing Bricco. I liked the dessert format - mix and match large and small plates and some tastey classic fare.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy review won't do the restaurantMy review won't do the restaurant justice because we had a very early dinner reservation on a Wednesday evening and were leaving just as business began to pick up. All I can say is that I am an embarrassingly picky eater and my friend is an excellent cook and something of a foodie. We were both pleased with the number and variety of offerings and were talking about our meals for the rest of the evening. I look forward to returning to try some of the other delightful dishes listed on Bricco's menu.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWell done dinner, excellentWell done dinner, excellent service and an enjoyable experience. Who could ask for more?4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMthe duck ragu was a littlethe duck ragu was a little toooo salty! The chef/menu is very gluten-free cognizant.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll be Bock!Our waiter, Brian, was "Johnny on the Spot", friendly, and helpful with food selections. The wine, Menage a Trois, Rouge, was exactly what we were looking for. Food was brought quickly. Overall cost - very VERY reasonable.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic place! We had sixFantastic place! We had six separate dishes and each one was wonderful. The sweet potato ravioli are outstanding and I would go back for just for them; the service was excellent.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTrout was excellent. TenderloinTrout was excellent. Tenderloin tips also excellent. Love the bread.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMservice, food and atmosphereservice, food and atmosphere were outstanding. Can't wait to go back. Lovely anniversary/birthday dinner - loved the complimentary dessert for the occasion!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our third trip here,This was our third trip here, probably the best food we've had in those visits. Especially strong pasta dishes this trip. The sage pappardelle with duck ragu is always a winner. Pleasantly surprised by the sweet potato ravioli - sweetness of the potato was cut really nicely with brown butter and amaretti crumbles added some texture to the dish. The winner for the night was a really strong mushroom risotto - perfectly cooked and showcased everything good about mushrooms! Really well done. The porchetta was also succulent and delicious. Our server was attentive, friendly and professional despite being spread too thin that night - hire a bus boy! We'll definitely go back again.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways love coming here. WasAlways love coming here. Was a little disappointed this time with the pizza.They had a pizza with Bone Marrow,spinach,ricotta, and mushrooms. I never order pizza but this sounded interesting so I got it as an app and figured I would take some home for lunch. IDK if there wasn't enough Bone Marrow or what but the dish was flat. Definitely won't keep me from coming back but I was a bit disappointed.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFor the Gluten Free Diner:As a celiac and bringing my gluten-sensitive vegetarian daughter, we were very happy to receive excellent service and food. The waiter was knowledgeable about what we could have or what could be adapted. The meal started with a grilled gluten-free bread with the olive oil dipping plates. Wonderful. In fact, my non-celiac husband liked the gluten free offering even more than the fresh bread he and my son had.
Am looking forward to coming back again.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for lunch too!Tried Bricco for lunch - just as tasty as dinner, just smaller portions. Absolutely worth a visit...2/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI dine offen at Bricco forI dine offen at Bricco for lunch and dinner meetings. I'am never disappointed, nor are my guests. Looking foward to a lighter Spring menu.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
