We visited Bricco Saturday evening for a night out. As professed foodies with one chef in the group, we had high expectations. The wine list was fantastic, the variety was wonderful and each dish was plated beautifully and served at the proper temperature. We had one gluten free diner in the group who was impressed with the bread service and availability of options.

Went with my wife for a 7:45pm dinner. Both meals were excellent (red snapper and rockfish). Waiter recommended the Brussel sprouts and a salad. Finished off dinner with their unique tiramsu.

I wanted to treat my sister to dinner for her milestone birthday and this turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was delicious. The waitress was knowledgeable and courteous. I can't wait to return and sample one of the many other selections from the menu... leaving just enough room for dessert. The location is a few blocks from the Whitaker Center and there's a $5 parking next to the restaurant. Five stars!

They atmosphere and food were excellent, the service was okay. Everyone at the front were great, our server however was a little less than friendly. She did her job well but seemed to be annoyed by something. There was a large wedding party in a private room and that seemed to be the problem. Even so I think it was an overall good experience and I would definitely go back.

Very disappointed, at 7:30 they had already run out of one the main stables on the menu, polenta, used in many of the dinner offerings. Very poor planning on the part of the kitchen. Bar service was also very slow.

We were delighted to find such a treasure in Harrisburg. The food was exceptional, as was the wine, and also the wine glasses. We could not have hoped for a better experience. We sat at the bar and split the romaine salad and the filet mignon with mushrooms. The romaine salad had Treviso radicchio and a wonderful dressing. The filet was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms a perfect side. We will go back if we ever return to Harrisburg.

Dined at Bricco on 23 October. Was a bit apprehensive, as I had no-shown for a reservation last week. No need to fear; they treated me like the Prodigal Son and welcomed me and The Lady In Whose House I Live (TLIWHIL) with open arms and sincere exculpation. Had the audacity to ask the barkeep to mix a drink, not on the menu, which TLIWHIL had enjoyed elsewhere; even had the temerity to offer a recipe I’d down-loaded. Unfortunately, not all ingredients on hand (doesn’t every bar stock graham cracker crumbs?). No problem: some imagination and improvisation and out came a creation which was (1) a pretty reasonable approximation of what she’d had; (2) something at the same time quite original; (3) out of this world! Server Shawn, who’d taken us to what is becoming our Stammtisch at Bricco, couldn’t have been more helpful and professional. We had the romaine/treviso Not A Caesar Salad which looked great, kind of like the premature holiday decorations popping up, and tasted even better: not over-dressed, nicely balanced tart and not-so-tart. TLIWHIL went with the Polenta Ratatouille special which was plated masterfully. As she faithfully eats only about 2/3 of her main course, there’s always the trepidation about getting the leftovers home for lunch the next day: no problem: Shawn and company managed to get the remains into the take-away just as nicely plated as the original (no out-of-the-dumpster look here). My Pizza Margherita was outstanding; I’m certain King Umberto’s consort would have been pleased. I had no leftover issues (I had no leftovers). In all, a more-than-satisfying experience for a Thursday evening at the best restaurant in Harrisburg (sorry Char; sorry Golden Sheaf). On the other hand, disregard the above: I wouldn’t too many nouveau riche abandoning their temples of overpriced mediocre vittles for this absolute gem.

Plus side: My grilled snapper was prepared perfectly , the red pepper involtini was a stunning presentation and very tasty. All meals at the table looked lovely. 1 polenta with beef tips and 2 steak medallions and crab cake. Very nice local beer list. One negative: Although current trends are towards smaller portions, all 4 people at our table agreed the portions could have been a bit larger.

When I heard that this was the best restaurant in Harrisburg I had very high hopes for a great meal. I suppose we are spoiled Bostonians. The food was decent. The best thing we ordered was the brussel sprouts if that tells you anything. The olive tampanade was tasty but only came with 4 little crackers. There was enough tampanade for 6 people! The red pepper/eggplant small plate had ZERO flavor at all - huge miss. The rib eye was a B at best and the tenderloin was a B+/A-. The fries were delish and we love that the truffle sauce was on the side (thank goodness). The mac and cheese was way too thick, rich, and creamy. I could only enjoy a couple bites. There were not enough vegetable sides to choose from. We skipped dessert.

We've been to Bricco several times, and this was by far the best experience we've had there. The service was outstanding, not hovering but available when we had a question or a need arose. One thing that stood out for me was that our server did not remove my husband's dinner service until I had also finished my meal. I do not like feeling rushed, seeing an empty table around me, when I am still eating. Bonus points to Eric for that touch! Our food was delicious, with just-right sized portions. The brussels sprouts with honey and sriracha were amazing! I am looking forward to another great experience at Bricco very soon!

Overall it was a great experience. Menu could have been worded better. Has lots of questions about what was on the menu service was great. Some of the tables in the front room were rather close. Because we made reservations I would have thought we would get a table in the back room. Out menu choices were very good and presentation was great. Just the right amount of food. I would recommend Bricco to anyone.

This restaurant is so great from the atmosphere, servers, and the food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The servers make you feel at home and welcomed like they have been waiting just for you all day. The food is out of the world. I have been to many places were I feel salt is needed. At Bricco no added flavoring is needed. I definitely want to go back at some point in the future. Everyone should eat there at least once.

Bricco's has a distinct advantage over other restaurants-- its association with a culinary school. Everyone there is trying hard to please and impress. The waiters memorize the specials and add their own informed recommendations-- the chefs can be observed as they prepare the meals, and they are really MOVING. We were seated on the side with a clear view of everything being prepared, which was a treat in itself. The food was exceptional, I had one of the Specials, the Sea Bass, and it was perfect. It's my third time there, and my third pick of the specials, and I've been impressed each time. The wine list is a bit pricy, has a nice range of choices, offsets the reasonable entre costs. Overall a good night out on the town.

Bricco came highly recommended from friends. I'd say it was good not great. Pleasant ambiance, with some quiet tables in the back, though we were seated at the table closest to the front door. Good selection of Italian fare on the menu. Service was very slow - we almost left before finally getting a chance to order. I think it was just our server, not a restaurant-wide issue.

I have had many great meals here but this past one was not one of them. I had an early evening reservation and found that 2 of the things I wanted to order they were out of. This was before 7:15 pm. The place was pretty full and the service was decent but for the price I paid the overall meal was "ok". I have had dinner there at least 5 times before and never an average to a bad time. This time it was just average overall. I definitely wouldn't say the price justifed the overall eating experience. I hope in the future it will.

Their server recommended the braised short ribs. This was the only recommendation that was good. They were out of the wine we wanted and when I asked for something comparable I was given a wine that tasted nothing like what I wanted. It was a flat red with no flavor. Overall for the price it was ok, but I would not return.

My sister and I dined here during Restaurant Week and for $30 each had a great meal! I had smoked chicken cannelloni, a meatball appetizer, and cannoli for dessert. It was all excellent, although the chocolate budino my sister had was a better dessert! We had drinks at the bar, which more people came in the later it got and the bartenders were all very attentive.

We had a wonderful experience from appetizer to dessert. The food was TREMENDOUS. the service was very professional. The bar was - just alright. The men tried to order the same featured beer. Sorry, only one bottle left. I ordered a Black Russian which cost $12 and it didn't even fill half the glass. If you used a smaller glass it would have been a large shot glass. That's how small the drink was. That was very disappointing.
