  • "Loved the restaurant. This was my first time and I enjoyed every bit of it. They made us a great dirty martini, followed by some wonderful appetizers. Then the main course came and it was simply perfect. We had a very nice, engaging, delicious meal. Our next visit to the mountain will definitely include another trip to visit the Briar Rose Chophouse."

  • "We ate here recently and had a nice dinner. I ordered the prime rib which was good, but not great because it lacked a bit of flavor. I actually had to salt the au jus. The portion was decent but keep in mind that this place is pricey and everything is a la cart. The sauces are an additional $4.00 and a side will run you around $9.00. It's still one of the better places to eat in Breck but just know it's going to be on the high end. Service was good but there were a couple times where we had to ask for more water. Not a huge deal but when you're charging top price, the service should match. Overall this restaurant is good and we will be returning."

  • "Briar Rose is a must go to restaurant in Breckenridge. It is our favorite for great food and wine."

  • "Came highly recommended. What you get inside is not what you would expect from the outside. Very cute setting, great staff and very good food!!!"

  • "Had a great meal with friends from out of town. First visit to the restaurant. It is now my favorite 4-5 star restaurant in Breckenridge. It is a bit pricy but a very good meal so I would go again to entertain clients, or go out with family and friends on a special occasion."

  • "Excellent food and wine with terrific service--our server was pleasant, fun, knowledgeable and good with the kids, but not intrusive. The buffalo bone-in ribeye was everything I hoped for and my son's Australian wagyu skirt steak was perfect. Still, our server happily satisfied my daughter's need for more ketchup for her chicken tenders, which were really good, too! A terrific evening and a very authentic place, fitting of Breck. Not like so many ski towns (and their restaurants) that have become over-the-top-Beverly-Hills-in-the-mountains. Briar Rose is about terrific food/wine and and a comfortable atmosphere, not being seen or bragging rights."

  • "We braved icy snowy roads and ski season lack of parking but it was well worth it for an excellent meal on 3/28/14. We arrived early and grabbed the last table in the packed bar. We tried a Colorado beer called 90 Shilling which was was delicious and I am not really a beer drinker! We were seated promptly by the personable Pat. My husband had a sweet garlic soup (the first time we have seen that on any menu) and was happy he did. I selected a wedge salad which was delicious and large enough for 2-3 people. His medallions of elk were tender and well prepared. I had Rocky Mountain trout which was fully deboned and came with a tasty topping of spinach and slivered almonds. Amy suggested lyonnaise potatoes - way to go Amy!"

  • "Everything was great except when we ordered there was no more of the spectacular macand cheese! : ("

  • "We have been here as repeat customers because the food is always perfectly cooked and tastes wonderful. Highly recommend the escargot and the buffalo (if available as a special--usually winter season). Creamed spinach is great as a side dish. All the cocktails are well made too. Definitely enjoy the saloon and bar area before dinner if time."

  • "We were in Breckenridge for a family spring break vacation. We didn't plan on eating out many nights given the size of our group (8 adults). We chose Briar Rose as the one place for a special night out and it really lived up to the advance hype/reviews. The service was courteous and prompt, the wine list extensive, and the food choices varied with something for everyone. We were pleasantly surprised when all aspects of the evening met or exceeded everyone's expectations. With such a large group it's tough to please everyone but we all commented afterward on what a great dinner we had. Everyone ordered something different and it was all prepared a near to perfection as you could get. We shared desserts and they were all outstanding!"

  • "Everything was delicious. The Mac and cheese is amazing and perfect size to share. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce and Marsala were to die for. The service was friendly and attentive. Our server Mick had great recommendations on wine. Great dinner. Will definitely go back."

  • "Disappointed in Briar Rose this visit. The kobe beef skirt steak Australian Wagyu “Kobe Style” was very disappointing. I don't recommend at all. The other entrees were good but not up to par based on prior visits."

  • "We eat at Briar Rose every time that we go to Breckenridge. We have always been very pleased! We will continue to dine at the Briar Rose and would recommend to anyone. One tip, be sure and make reservation in advance."

  • "If you are going to be in the Breckenridge area, this is a must go to restaurant! Excellent food, excellent service, fun bar scene! Be sure to make a reservation as far in advance as possible. The restaurant is small (likely why the service is so good!) and it is sometimes tough to get a table. If necessary alter your plans to fit this one in. You will not be disappointed!"

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants at Breck. Great menu with game, beef, fish and an nioce assortment of appetizers. Super service. Always enjoyable."

  • "We ate at several restaurants in town: Ember, Twist, Hearthstone and Briar Rose. Everyone in our party was in agreement that Briar Rose was the best. Great food and drinks. Staff was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We will definitely go back"

  • "Had to wait 5 days for a reservation at a time I wanted, but the food and service made the wait well worth it. My wife and I both enjoyed the game meats"

  • "Overall good to very good for Breckenridge. A little spendy but interesting selections/variety of game. Our duck was apparently precooked and came out lukewarm. Could have sent it back but that is not something you do if you ever worked in a kitchen. Steak was very tasty even if it was medium well when I asked for medium rare. Bar happy hour two fir one was nice. Have a drink before dinner time. Nice vibe."

  • "I have been to the Briar Rose numerous times. The steak I had on the last visit did not compare (favorably) to the ones I got on the previous visits."

  • "Be sure to order the mashed potatoes. One order feeds a group of 4. We ordered steak and also the trout. Both were tasty."

  • "My husband, son and I had a very nice meal. The buffalo rib eye was outstanding, the elk medallions were tender and flavorful and The skirt steak was delicious. We shared family style sides of creamed spinach and house made Mac and cheese which were both Delicious. The meal was pricey but the quality of the food was worth it."

  • "Made reservation several days in advance, arrived 5 minutes early. Waited an hour and finally asked to be served in the bar. Management incompetent and unprofessional. While food was adequate, way overpriced. Several better options for Breck including Ember, Twist..."

  • "We dined at Briar Rose while vacationing with a group of 16 last weekend. We chose to divide into 3 groups and they were very accommodating. Just possibly the best dinner we have ever had. And we dine out a lot. The blue cheese risotto was to die for and the atmosphere was as good as it gets. May have to plan our next trip to Breck just to dine at the Briar Rose."

  • "The quality and taste of the prime rib was not good. For as expensive as it was, it should of been better. We will not be back."

  • "The staff was friendly and helpful. The meal was well executed in all respects—buffalo rib eye steaks were cooked perfectly, salads and vegetable sides delicious, and the mac-n-cheese is a must try. Good wine selection. Will definitely place this restaurant on my regular rotation."

  • "I travel to ski destinations often and always eat out at a steakhouse. Compared to many higher-end ones, this rates below average. We had 4 people and 2 out of 4 weren't cooked to the requested level. The plates were cold so the meal cooled too quickly. The ambience had reasonable start but lights were at max so felt more like a cafeteria than a nice restaurant. The bar was cool and a good place to hang with friends."

  • "This quaint little restaurant is packed with history. The service and food was very good. A must see for Breck. The only draw back is the small size. Book ahead."

  • "Great place for steak, elk, wild game in Breck. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. I had the beef filet and my husband had the elk medallions, both were cooked perfectly, tender and delicious. The Brussels sprouts were a bit too greasy and soggy for my taste, but otherwise good flavor. The asparagus was perfect and the wine selection suggested by the server paired well with our entrées. Also, cheesecake and crème brulee were both very creamy and tasty."

  • "We ate dinner at Briar Rose last year on the last night of our vacation. We planned another ski trip this year and knew that we had to get back to the Briar Rose. We made the reservation weeks before the trip and that was the best way to go. If you wait to try and get in once you get to town, you may be in trouble. I got the prime rib and my wife got the elk medallions. Our meat was prepared perfectly. The sides were incredible and we all shared amongst our group. The mac and cheese and brussel sprouts were the favorites. After a full day of skiing, there is no better way to end your evening than with dinner at the Briar Rose!"

  • "We ate at the Rose in January and the Buffalo Ribeye was so outstanding that we went back 2 nights later to have it again. So when we came back to Breck this week i could not wait to get there. Bummer, the ribeye cut was different and nowhere near as tender or flavorful. Still our favorite restaurant in Breck, especially for game meats."
