  • "Excellent lamb, the best we ever had. The seafood crepes were superb. Simple but excellent salad."

  • "A neighborhood gem in an unexpected location. Our "special occasion" restaurant. A little eclectic, but that's what makes it special. The food is always fabulous!"

  • "Our table was upstairs in the bistro which is very nice. Our waiter James was friendly and helpful, his suggestions were very good. I had the grouper with lobster risotto. You could taste the lobster in the creamy risotto - so good."

  • "It would not be a anniversary with out a trip to the beach . It would not be a trip to the beach without one "white tablecloth" dinner . And it would not be "white tablecloth" unless it was BRENTWOOD ! . Us guys may be slow learners but, we do learn . I momma ain't happy , then ain't NO BODY HAPPY ! ! ! Momma has been happy EVERY TIME we dine with brentwood ! Please don't go there, tables are getting harder to get. Thank you/"

  • "We drove all the way from Virginia to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We love the intimate atmosphere as well as the artfully created food. We will come back again and again despite the miles because this is a truly exceptional restaurant. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderfully romantic dinner."

  • "Off the main drag on a side street sits the Brentwood Restaurant. Very charming The food was absolutely delicious and James our server was awesome. It was my Husbands 60th birthday and James made it special. When in this area this is A must!"

  • "Sorry to say it was mediocre. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallops Chardonnay which is a signature item. The shrimp and scallops were cooked well and it was hot but the dish as a whole was just ok. I've had better she crab soup. The wine list was not the best unless you want to spend $200+. My husband had the fish special and it was cooked well but was mediocre overall. The setting is very nice. I had the misfortune of hearing every word of conversation from the two tables sitting next to me, one of which reverberated profanity. The waiter saw we had finished dinner, asked if we wanted dessert, we said 'no thanks' he walked off, left our dirty dishes in front of us only to return 5 minutes later with a dessert menu."

  • "Chef Eric continues to prepare some of the best food on the Strand! Exceptional service (thank you James) in a variety of rooms. Truly great dining experience. We will return on our next trip yo the area this summer. Terrific wines including some labeled for them from Napa."

  • "Came to enjoy a pre-Easter Friday fish promotion at a reasonable price. These off season promotions are wonderful for us locals who hate chains and avoid restaurants during the summer beach rush. Excellent entree, appetizer soup and salads too. They were busy but waiter hustled so it was fine (best tip I have given for a while). Been here before and will be back, of course."

  • "I had often seen Brentwood Restaurant on Open Table when booking other locations but, had never given it a try. That ended the other night and I am sorry I had waited so long. What a fantastic dining experience, the food was amazing and chef Eric went above and beyond by making a personal request for me that was not listed on the menu as well as coming out to check to see if it was to my liking. Absolutely you must go. Jimmy and the rest of the staff did a fantatsic job catering to our every want and need. I will be back!!!"

  • "We have been to Brentwood before, and everything, food and service were outstanding - however, this last time our server TWICE forgot one of our party's drink order and we waited and hour and a half for our dinners to come out! I am all for having a relaxed dinner, but when it takes that long it stops being relaxing! In addition, the server delivered the wrong side choice to me. Luckily, the food was very good. Maybe the server was new???"

  • "We had a wonderful experience here. The setting is comfortable with smaller rooms. We selected it because they have a selection of vegetarian dishes. Discovered a roasted squas ravioli with a chestnut cream sauce. The presentation was beautiful . The dough was a perfect al dente. The sauce was subtle and tasty. My husband had petite filet au poivre which was beautifully presented. Both of us could have licked the plates!! Dessert was profiterole and creme brûlée. The menu choices all sounded great. This establishment is also a wine bar and for someone not familiar with choices each menu item is paired with a wine suggestion. Our experience was wonderful and I would love to return ( we are visiting). It should be on your list of don't miss!"

  • "Loved celebrating my birthday at The Brentwood! The table was decorated especially for the occasion. James, our waiter, was outstanding in his suggestions from the wine to the food and provided excellent service! The food was delicious from the presentation to the options and the flavors! Loved hearing the stories about the friendly and playful spirits in the house and getting a tour of the upstairs bar and banquet room. Come here for all of it, food, ambiance and service!"

  • "This was my 2nd time at the Brentwood... First time was just with my wife during the Summer, this time was with a party of 7 including 3 children. We hit happy hour both times - HIGHLY recommend that. This time we were drawn by a $15 fish entree special (Fridays during Lent) - truly incredible value considering the impeccable quality and plating. Absolutely cannot complain about one thing about our experience. We will make sure we go every time we're anywhere near Myrtle Beach."

  • "On vacation that week, we were looking for some great food and service. We found it at the Brentwood. We had an outstanding meal accompanied by outstanding service."

  • "The food was excellent. I liked having the ability to have any of the appetizers as an entrees. Everyone was raving about the escargot. The seafood crepes were amazing and my husband said the lamb was cooked to perfection."

  • "Wonderful restaurant, wonderful food - excellent service! Not much more to say. Oh, there is a ghost which we didn't see this time, but I guess we will have to go back again and again to find out."

  • "Great restaurant, I went with the prix fixe dinner, with French onion soup, salad with poached pair and blue cheese. Then I had the steak au poivre and the key like pie. My girlfriend had the duck and same salad as me. Everything was perfectly done, will definitely be back."

  • "This restaurant has been my favorite in a 100 mile radius for many years. Located in a 2 story house, it always feels like coming home. Chef Eric is developing more and more special events centering around food and wine. Brentwood is a true treasure."

  • "Great great food. Celebrated an out of state family member's 60th birthday on a Monday night. Table was decorated very tastefully with little confetti that said Happy Birthday etc, even 60s were in the mix. Food was outstanding. We all got something different everyone loved not liked their food. Was a little noisy but it's a neat old house so it's just part of the ambience. Started the meal with a taste of mushroom bisque complements from the chef, so good!. Can not really say enough good things about this restaurant."

  • "Each and every course built upon another and the flavor profile continue to excite the senses of what flavor layer would emerge with the next bite. Paired with a soft niche pinot noir from Northern California in Alexander Valley.....and wow......the she crab soup......the lobster/grouper.......crab cakes with the mustard sauce.......chateaubriand......the wine was enough to compliment the beef.......then, top that off with L'Orange Cremebule with Orange Grand Maignier......incredible........3 hour dinner."

  • "We chose the 4 course Valentine Special with the wine flight for my wife's Birthday Celebration dinner. Each course was excellent and well paired with the wine selection. The food was outstanding-- our favorite was the snowy grouper--Delicious! Service was just right and the wait staff was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. We plan to dine at Brentwood again before we leave South Carolina."

  • "Wine list that is beyond exceptional, ingredients are farm/sea to table, meals prepared and presented beautifully, a lovely and welcoming setting fit for any occasion. We will definitely be return customers!"

  • "The amuse bouche is always fun! A butternut squash soup this time. Salads and filet wellington were prepared to perfection. We really enjoyed the chocolate souffle for dessert. Our servers Ross and James were super - attentive and aim to improve the dining experience. Eric, the chef, always stops by to inquire and is concerned about our dining experience. Always a special meal for us."

  • "Staff was stressed and it showed, with exception of our wait person. He was wonderful. A person was so loud at a near by table that a woman next to us took out her hearing aid. I was jealous. Please find some way to remind your guests of their manners. This was not the romantic dinner I had envisioned."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Excellent french cuisine. Cooked to perfection. The sauce is everything, but the display here is also first rate. Everyone meets the chef who is also the owner and tries to greet everyone. The wait staff is first rate."

  • "What a wonderful night out! The meal was just what were were looking for and exceeded our expectations ! Our server went over the top to explain the dishes, and paired us with a perfect bottle of wine! The trigger fish was cooked perfect and plate presentation was amazing! ( even had to take a picture) my husband had the osobo and all I could say was wow! This have become our go to place! Karla our sever was outstanding and will request her each time! Chef you out did your self with another great meal!"

  • "This lovely, romantic restaurant, graced by a committed, genuine French chef, who miraculously landed in Little River, SC, is reliably outstanstanding. On our last visit we had wild boar pate, snowy grouper (red pepper coulis with camelized orange zest) with lobster risotto(actual chunks of lobster) and profiteroles. The accompanying white Bordeaux, selected as a special by the chef, was perfect. Enough said?"

  • "I have to say it was one of the most amazing restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food, from it's presentation to its wonderful taste, I can't say enough how amazing it was. I was having a special dinner with my fiance, they went above and beyond and put out rose petals and set up a very romantic table. This restaurant will never let you down."

  • "With all the other high recommendations we were disappointed. This was our first visit. Based on other ratings we will try again in case we were wrong! Upon arrival we were seated on the first floor in what is apparently one of several rooms. The room had a fireplace and was very warm except when the front door opened which was often. Our waitress was friendly but very inexperienced. When she brought our bottle of wine she did not offer a taste but held the bottle under my nose for a smell! The room was so quiet you could not help but hear other tables conversations. As guests were being seated, apologies were offered for having to sit in this room! My wife's steak was under cooked and heavily salted! Mine was overcooked!"

  • "My husband and I dine out several times a week! This dinner at The Brentwood was by far the best we have had in months! Our server was top notch! She helped described the weekly specials, and suggested a great bottle of wine, paired perfect with our Wellington! From our apps to our last bite of dessert we were over the top joyed! What a great find so close to home! We will be back!"

  • "A dining delight! I had the vegetarian item; it was very well prepared. My husband had the bouillabaisse and he said it was delicious. Service was attentive and prompt. Our server had knowledge of the dishes and the preparation. The chef came out to greet us and was quite congenial. Would definitely recommend it and will visit again!"

  • "First time here and will return. Never been a big fan of French cuisine, but the Filet au poivre was excellent and the service was outstanding. They went above and beyond to make our group's birthday celebration special."
    Dined on 1/22/2014
  • "Good food, but pricey. Small tables and cramped spaces, not good for private conversations. We could hear everything the couple at the next table was saying. Might be fun with a larger group of friends, but was not the romantic evening my husband I were looking for."
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "The quality of the meal is unsurpassed. The fresh ingredients, arrangements of foods, and the combination of flavors; all were an invitation to a culinary delight. We were a larger group (11) so we probably tried most everything on the menu. Fish and meats were done to perfection with complimentary vegetables and sauces. The wine pairings complimented the courses. The building is roomy, yet the individual rooms offer a small restaurant atmosphere. Unique wall decor with cork screws, silverware, wine bottle crates and corks. The servers were gracious and attentive and the chef's attention to detail is evident in the total dining experience. Can't wait to try the patio when the weather is warmer near this unique venue."
