  • "The food is well prepared but the kitchen seems to have serious problems with timing. This has been disturbingly frequent. Tonight, I hosted a group of six. We ordered ONE appetizer in the Blue bar, the pretzels, at about 7:05. We finally went to our table at 7:50, still no appetizer. We finally got the pretzels at 8:05, nearly 45 minutes and two wait staff since we ordered. At dinner, we had to ask after our salads/soups took 20-30 minutes. Instead of creamed spinach, we were served sautéed spinach. Instead of Gran Marnier soufflé, we were served a Godiva chocolate soufflé. The food was very good, but pacing and basic order accuracy need lots of work."

  • "The food was pretty good, but I'm not sure it was worth the price. The dressing on my husband's wedge salad has WAY too much bleu cheese in it, which overwhelmed the dish. His flank steak was excellent, though. I ordered the short rib ravioli and it was good also. Service was good. Next time we will sit on the patio - great bar out there. It was just too hot to sit outside during the summer. We will wait to go back in the cooler months."

The rolling and well manicured property is very appealing and more than a few of our group noted that they didn't feel anywhere near downtown Houston...more like the Italian countryside maybe. Charlie was our server and he was a consummate professional and couldn't have been more outstanding. His recommendations on the menu were exactly what our guests were looking for and he was extremely knowledgeable about the food, as well as the wine list. We had a complicated financial breakdown of the checks and he helped us sort through it all with ease, while taking nothing away from the dining experience. T"

  • "It took us an hour to get our food after ordering. When the food arrived, it was mostly hot, but not that great. Just very, very mediocre. I had fried chicken that was dry and not particularly flavorful. My grits were lumpy and pasty. The creamed spinach is overly cheesy and the cheese is sour and tastes off. Even the onion rings are not great. The coating is dry and just not that tasty. My husband's wienerschnitzel was overcooked and the meat tasted very, very strong for veal -- like maybe it was pork or even a bit gamy. His Bombay Gin martini was very watery and had too much vermouth. The waiter brought us free desserts since our meal was so late in coming, which was nice, but, really, we would just rather have had good-tasting food."

  • "I made a reservation here to celebrate my graduation we were having a good time until the manager came over and asked us to be quiet. Then I had to wait 20 minutes for the lemon drop I ordered. My friends ordered the spinach as a side which came out 10min before the meal. They brought over my side of lobster macaroni and cheese again 10min before then there was only a tiny piece of lobster in there so I was annoyed with the service and the food. My table of 6 spent well over $500. So I feel the service should have been a lot better."

I don’t spend that at Flemings and I think they are much better than this place. I will say my girlfriend’s 6 oz. filet was one the best I’ve ever had. Our waiter talked entirely too fast and we felt like we were being rushed. However, Amber at the bar was fabulous! She made our evening…and a damn good martini ;-)"

  • "7 of us went to celebrate a 30 th birthday and 40th wedding anniversary. Waiter was very attentive and gave us outstanding service. Food was very good, however, I was a little disappointed when my daughter-in law's steak arrived medium well when she ordered medium rare and very disappointed when my daughter's salad dressing arrived with a hair in it. Both were promptly replaced, however, two mistakes like this in one meal! I expect more of a restaurant in Brenner's calibar and price point."

  • "I was fairly disappointed with our experience at Brenner's. Although the food was amazing, it was brought down by the ambience. We specifically let them know (in advance) that our visit was for an anniversary celebration. I was expecting a nice table for two, especially since I had also requested a nice view. Instead, they put us in the most crowded are of the restaurant, at a table for FOUR and I was facing a wall. I genuinely think that if you want to go to this restaurant, you should call to make the reservation. I think we were put at this table because we had used Open Table and we didn't call them."

  • " I decided to make a reservation for 5:00 Fri. The young hostess told us we had to wait near the entrance. We waited & waited & saw her escorting others who had arrived after us. I noticed two waiters just gabbing & the hostess had disappeared! I asked them why we were still waiting when the place was practically empty & saw the team of waiters & our missing hostess were in a team meeting! Basically had to have a hissy fit , the waiter said we could go outside to the bar & have a drink, much needed by that time. We decided to try again for our dining table & a different hostess was very obliging. The meal was fine & our waiter was very attentive. The manager came to our table to ensure we were happy."

  • "We have visited Brenners several times and each time we have been seated in different areas of the restaurant but all are elegant. We dined alone this time and we were seated in the upstairs area. Was unsure if I 'd like it but the view of the grounds were beautiful from our window seat. The service and food were excellent as always. I am not a big fan of beef, but when I want a steak I know that the steaks there will be perfectly prepared. Thanks again Brenners! See you soon."

I had made the reservation a month in advance and made sure they knew I had a toddler with me and would need a high chair. on the the day, when they called for confirmation, even then I reminded about my little one. I was disappointed that they made us wait and did not even put us by the window as we requested. WORST PART. It was a surprise dinner for my husband for Father's Day"

The food was very good, but not exceptional. The setting and ambience is delightful. Overall, I give it a 4 of 5. It can be a five star restaurant with a few minor adjustments."
