  • "It was our first time to frequent the restaurant. The food was delicious and our waiter Charlie was great. He made some excellent suggestions and was very attentive. We had an overall positive experience. We will definitely be back. The trio appetizer was delightful!!!"

  • "Best steaks ever! Melt in the mouth tender! Service excellent. Not such great valet parking. Had to wait a long time for the guy to hike to where ever the car was, even tho the parking lot was not close to filled when we arrived. Otherwise, the evening was wonderful!"

  • "Brought three co-workers for our "wine club" that had not been here to date. The food and wine were top notch as always and the soufflé made for a dramatic end to the meal. They were all ecstatic ! Job well done folks!"

  • "My husband and I went for our 2nd anniversary. We made the reservation, the day of...and got the "most requested and romantic table"! The food was absolutely perfect (I got the Lamb with brussel sprouts in a delicious reduction sauce). The atmosphere was romantic yet fun- the design of the place is awesome. Our table had a great view of the bayou, and we were tucked away in a little window nook. The service was delightful. I can honestly say, Brenners on the Bayou is my favorite place for dining in Houston!"

  • "We really did enjoy our introduction to this scenic find. Delicious food for brunch and we were seated by the window overlooking the Bayou. Texas Brunch was wonderful as was the smoked salmon. We will be back when visiting Houston!!"

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 2 Yr anniversary at Brenners and it was our first time at the restaurant. From the moment we walked in we felt really happy to be there. The restaurant itself looks awesome. And the staff was very pleasant. We ordered the filet which I believe wasn't a good cut, otherwise it was pretty good. But def not the best filet I had. We also had the colorodo lamb chops, smoked mac n cheese and truffle fries which were all the best weve ever had. Sooo good. Dessert selection was pretty good. Overall I very nice restaurant and food was really good."

  • "AFTER MAKING THE RESERVATION I CALLED AND ASKED FOR A SPECIAL TABLE. THE LADY ON THE LINE SAID "WE WILL HAVE A VERY GOOD TABLE FOR YOU SIR". UPON ARRIVAL WE WERE SEATED AT WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE THE WORST TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT. I ASKED TO CHANGE AND AFTER LONG WAIT WE WERE SEATED AT A TABLE THAT WAS NOT MUCH BETTER AND IN A UNUSED CORNER OF THE RESTAURANT THAT SMELLED LIKE MILDEW. THE SERVICE IN THAT CORNER WAS NOT VERY ATTENTIVE AND AT ONE POINT I HAD TO ASK THE BARMAN TO CALL OUR WAITER FOR US. I HAVE BEEN TO THE RESTAURANT MANY TIMES AND WITH THREE GUESTS FROM MALAYSIA THIS EXPERIENCE WAS A REAL DISAPPOINTMENT. I WILL THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE GOING AGAIN."

  • "Have been here quite often for special occasions. The food was great as usual except for the salad. The greens were not as fresh as usual and bit wilted. Our waiter was a bit slow also. Also wish the selection was a bit larger."

  • "Went to Brenner's with my girlfriend and parents for my birthday dinner. The parking situation that evening was ridiculous but there was a large Autism Awareness event being held during the same time. They have a great happy hour from 5-7 with very good pricing on cocktails, wine, and food. We had a drink at the outside bar (very cool with great scenery for Houston) and then were seated. Definitely get a reservation, place is usually packed. Food was outstanding and the sommelier was very helpful. Had some great wine that he recommended that he normally does not have all the time. Lobster bisque was delish. As were the crab cakes, mac n cheese, and brussel sprouts. I know brussel sprouts, but they cook them with bacon, enough said"

  • "It just was. The very best. Actually rare. They even had me check to be sure it was rare before leaving me to enjoy it. Wonderful service. Was sitting at our table a couple of minutes before our reservation time on a busy night. Great experience, thank you."

  • "This place has an amazing view, great ambiance and could really be a fantastic restaurant if it wasn't run like an IHOP. The food is overpriced, and I imagine it's prepared by people with the same skill level as the McDonald's fry cooks. My shrimp and grits were bland and oily - and they had been recommended as one of their specialties. The omelette that was brought out... well, it looked like it had been microwaved, and tasted even worse. If you like eating cardboard, the omelette is probably a good choice for you. Again, the view was so great, and we walked around outside after eating and it was fun... so the experience wasn't a complete disaster. But I won't be going back again, that's for sure."

  • "My wife and I were stunned by the ineptness and pure incompetence of most of the staff. The bar staff does not understand how to decant wine, nor how to pour it. The hostess asked us to leave our $300 bottle of wine at the bar table without having staff follow us to the table with the wine in hand. Unacceptable. Finally, since my wife and I chose to be responsible and take a cab that evening, we expected to be able to have a cab service called for us. The valet staff was dumbfounded by the concept and told us to walk back to the restaurant and ask the staff to call a cab. Once the cab arrived, the valet opened the door of the cab, then held out his hand for a tip. Pathetic. The food was in line with a Chili's or Applebee's."

  • "Quite literally and, nestled in by the Bayou. Wonderful steaks, practically melt in your mouth. Side dishes were very well done, service was attentive without being overbearing, and overall a wonderful experience. Actually hard to believe this restaurant, with its unique atmosphere, is part of the Landry's Empire!"

  • "I made a reservation on line for 6:30pm. I told them on the comments that it was my daughter's birthday, and I would really like a table close to the fireplace if possible. I got there a little early, so the hostess asked me to wait in the bar. The restaurant had lots of empty tables, and one close to the fireplace. (I'm a Landry's Select club member so am supposed to get preferred seating). At 6:30 the hostess took us to a table next to the door that was being used frequently to service the patio. Horrible! We asked to move, and she said she would have to find a place upstairs (lots of empty tables downstairs). So she moved us upstairs by the waiter's station. And they didn't do anything about my daughter's birthday."

  • "We were seated next to a large, loud family in a small room off the inside bar. There were children running around, screaming and wrapping themselves in the curtains, extremely loud conversation and nursing mothers are the table next to us. This is not appropriate for a restaurant of this caliber. The restaurant did nothing to correct the situation. They did not offer to move us. This should have been done immediately as it was apparent this party was extremely loud. We could not even hear our server when he asked us for our water preferences."

  • "The food was fantastic, and with a great atmosphere to boot! I just went there for a nice dinner with my dad, but it could also serve as a great date-night restaurant!"

  • "Very nice setting & very neat building. We were sat right on time for our 830 res. The 1st issue was when I asked the waiter for a beer list/menu. He left, but returned w/out the menu. I didn't time the wait time for the main courses, but the fact that they came out room temp. lets me know they took too long. My quail & my wife's snapper plate were average at best, I'm sure in large part due to the cold temp. of the food. Our final issue with the service was the fact that our souffle took at LEAST 45 mins, when the menu says it is about a 20 minute wait. And the Godiva chocolate souffle was sub standard at best. Neither of us could really taste a hint of chocolate flavor in it. We were also sat in a room with continuously flickering lights."

  • "I had been to the location on I10 and new the food and the service was good, but this location still managed to exceed my expectations. Our server(s) were very attentive, to the point where I dropped the handle of my steak knife into the sauce and immediately it was replaced, without my saying a word. The food was excellent, steaks cooked to perfection. You MUST try the crab smoked mac & cheese. The views were BEAUTIFUL! This little gem was only a few minutes from downtown Houston, but from our table there wasn't a building in sight. Just the view of the trees (memorial park) around us. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we very much look forward to visiting again."

  • "We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our server, Kyle, was very friendly and gave some great suggestions! When Kyle found out it was our anniversary he had them write "Happy Anniversary" on our desserts and gave us glasses of champagne with our dessert."

  • "Beautiful outside scenery to indoor decor, real fine dining, excellent service special thanks to sarah and bradley! Loved the trio appetizer of crab cake, scallop, and quail! Must-have! Thank you Brenner's on the Bayou!"

  • "Everything from the location to service to food was what I had hoped for on our special (first) date. We shared the crab cake-deliceous. She had lobster bisque and salad, I had the jalapeno shrimp and grits and we shared the habenero mac and cheese--all exceptional. The table was quiet and the waiters attentive but not overbearing. On making the reservation I asked that they make her feel special--having the chef come out from the kitchen to explain the menu choices was a classy touch. We will return frequently"

  • "Outside was closed due to a private party which was very disappointing. We arrived an hour early just to hang around outside and were not able to do that. The reason we chose this place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary was to enjoy the outside scenery before dinner. Everything else was nice."

  • "When we walked in we were greeted with a smile and was taken to our table right away even though we were early for our reservation. The staff was excellent and when my wife tasted the house salad dressing and didnt like the flavor, they quickly took it back and changed it. Very romantic in evening time, dim lite and candlelight. Highly recommend it to anyone"

  • "I have been twice in one week. One for brunch and the other for a romantic dinner. The place is absolutely gorgeous, service is great, food is yummy and the people are pretty. I will be coming here more often, for sure. Thanks for a great hip experience."

  • "I love this place, a little more expensive than a regular steakhouse but the whole atmosphere is worth it. whether it is for a business, romantic or casual lunch or dinner, it is the place to go. Nice surrounding, you could even get a drink close to the bayou, the have little lounge area close to it. The service is good, a bit slow sometimes, but it's ok you have some different kind of bread to snack on."

  • "I was given the best table in the house, probably because I said it was my birthday in the notes section when making reservations. My server made my night so special. The food was good but honestly it wasn't spectacular. I ordered a crab cake, lobster bisque, blackened fish and a side of asparagus. The crab cake was AMAZING! My chocolate mousse was brought out and said Happy Birthday on it with a candle to blow out. I loved it! Overall the food was tasty and the service was excellent. I would recommend taking someone special there for a nice dinner!"

  • "We have been several times for brunch (always excellent), this was first time for dinner. Everything was excellent from the redfish special to the filet/lobster surf n turf. Grand Marnier soufflé was excellent. Service was top notch as well. We were not hurried; ordered and ate at our pace."

  • "Brenners is our go to, special occasion dining destination! Delicious steaks, Brussels sprouts with bacon and apple streudel. And the cognac sauce!!! Yum! A touch of German flair on the menu hints to the German lodge that this location once housed. It's now owned by Landrys. Blu, the outdoor bar area is beautiful for a few cocktails after dinner. Definitely make a reservation with open table !"
