A word from Breakers at Ashworth by the Sea
For over three decades the Ashworth by the Sea on Hampton Beach, New Hampshire has enjoyed a reputation as one of the best fine dining establishments in New England.

In May, 2010 we created a new, original restaurant at the landmark hotel by the sea. Breakers at the Ashworth is set in the historic Ashworth by the Sea Hotel established in 1912. In a sophisticated yet casual setting with amazing views of Hampton Beach, Ashworth by the Sea celebrates the new, contemporary look of the Breakers Restaurant and Bar in Hampton Beach, NH. Oversized windows provide spectacular ocean views, a granite-topped bar and raised stone hearth fireplace, wood flooring, custom millwork and new furniture, textiles and lighting contribute to an inviting, casual atmosphere. The bar completely wraps around what was once two separate and distinct rooms, creating one expansive space. The Breakers Restaurant now accommodates more people and the popular dance floor has been enlarged.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Waitress was awesome! Really enjoyed the food and the kids had a lot of fun too."

  • "in a town with arguably the crappiest restaurants on the planet, where fried dough and 97 flavors of soft serve reign, the Breakers is arguably the best of what's there. nice menu variety, but maybe too much, as even the "healthy" choices (haddock, baked potato & green beans) are served swimming in butter & bland seasonings. very friendly servers and hot pretzel bites that are very good (just avoid the dipping sauces). but given where it is, probably the best overall option in town."

  • "Genernal feeling is that the renovations done over the years have only helped to "keep the appeal" not to actually improve on anything. The hostess was awful! 4 other parties with reservations left in the time we waited because she was so disorganized. She sat us directly next to a bachelorette party (we had our 5 year old daugher with us). When I request to be moved to a booth she stated "we have several reservations on the way". I HAD A RESERVATION!!! She finally moved us after that. Nearing the end of our completely disappointing meal, she sat a large party of extremely drunk and loud patrons directly next to us. We cut our meal short due to the very loud profanity."

  • "our 2nd pre-concert dinner here. good, simple food and non-descript decor, but once again friendly, attentive, responsive service made the difference. "

  • "nice menu, average food, beachy decor, but terrific service by Devonie (sp?) made it a fun pre-concert dinner. she was attentive, fun and responsive. "

  • "Although the food was very good (each of us had the filet) for the main course the creme brûlée that we had for dessert tasted like a boxed pudding mix that had been doctored to taste sort of like creme brûlée. Coffee was so bad that this coffee lover absolutely couldn't drink it. The service was very slow even though the dining room was only moderately full/busy and our server had little to Jo personality."

  • "We arrived at our weekend getaway destination at 9:20 pm on the Friday of a holiday weekend. Realizing that dinner would be that late, I opened my open table app and searched the area restaurants to find that the Breakers was serving dinner until 10 pm. Fortunate for us, we were staying in the adjoining hotel! The restaurant was completely empty, however, the adjoining bar was hopping. We were given the option of eating in either place, and chose the dining room for the ambience. We were seated right in front of the fireplace. The food was great. The service impeccable. Thank you."

  • "The restaurant has hanidcapped access and complimentary valet parking. kid fiendly. Waitress/service was wonderful. Food to table was slow but it was very tasty and worth the wait. They offered American, Seafood, and Vegetarian meals. Great family atmosphere and children's menu available. The only draw back is the bar open area in the restaurant which made it difficult at time to talk at our table. The bar crowd was loud and at times singing."

  • "A nice place to go "Off Season". very quiet, romantic and relaxing. Our server Sandra was great. She was very attentive and friendly. Her timing was perfect with every course. The ambiance was OK. It would have been nice to see candles on the tables, some nice music and dimmer lighting for dinner. The food was good. Very traditional "coastal" cuisine. I have been told that it is the place to be during the peak season. I will have to return then. Overall nice experience...Thank you!"

  • "My friends had the Lobster Taco's and just raved about them, cleaned their plates! I had the Salad with Pear and picked the Strawberry Vinaigrette which was thick and absolutely delicious! I'd pick that again. Our server was young, fun and energetic and checked in often along with another server! I had not eaten here since they redid the menu and was shocked at how wonderful our meals were! The change is amazing!"

  • "Seemed like they were short on the wait help so slow service. The gentlemen was very friendly but was swamped. Main meal was good but blueberry cobbler was a big disappointment; this was part of a 3 course coupon dinner offering."
