We arrived 15 minutes early and were immediately seated on the outdoor patio. The mood was calm and relaxing. We enjoyed a delicious meal followed by wonderful strawberry short cake. I think the view was almost as important a part of the experience as the food! We started with a smoked fish appetizer, which was a light flavorful starter. I had the Boursin-stuffed chicken with the house salad, which is topped with a roasted vegetable mix and was amazing. The accompanying dilled carrots and roasted new potatoes were perfect. My husband had the mixed grill of quail, buffalo sausage and beef tenderloin, which was perfectly grilled. Our waiter was very attentive to the fact that we needed to be on a schedule to make a showtime, and wrapped our chocolate creme brulee for later. It has never disappointed me...or us. Indeed, I'd rate this latest visit as the best yet. Everything seemed to come together: the waiter, the pace of the meal, the presentation and the overall ambiance was especially nice! They even catered to the special culinary "needs" f my finickey niece. The bar is small, but the focus is food, and the fresh fish and sometimes exotic meats will let anyone find something they will really enjoy. You can also dine outside, which is very popular, and have a nice view of the Arkansas River as in meanders by. The service is friendly, seasoned, and competent, the food proportions will satisfy everyone, and the price is reasonable. Always one of my favorites, whether for business or pleasure. The flowers were delivered to our table right on time and were a nice surprise for her.
Our server was very impressive; knowledgable, friendly, and attentive but not hovering...perfect! And then the food came...we both had the Walleye and it was likely the best meal that either of us have ever experienced.

Tuna was excellently prepared and wonderful. Strawberry shortcake was both beautiful and scrumptious! And the fact that Peter Brave walks around the dining rooms casually visiting w patrons makes the diner feel at home and special at the same time.
