Diner Reviews
  • "The restaurant had a very comfortable atmosphere and an attractive outdoor dining space, weather permitting. The fish was delicious, as was the house salad. The staff were helpful and seemed happy to have us there."

  • "Would like to see an increase in options for your red wines by the glass, particularly your Cabs...... (- ;"

  • "We have not been to this restaurant in five years (moved elsewhere) so when visiting Little Rock again and had just one evening to go to one of our favorite restaurants, we chose Brave New. The food were excellent - I had the duck and the flavors were outstanding. Fabulous evening at a great restaurant!"

  • "If you are not familiar to the area - when you get to the location, you might not think a restaurant is located in the building - but it is there above the parking garage. The menu provides a nice mix of food choices at reasonable prices. The Mixed Grill entry is incredible. Wait staff provides good pairing advice. Chef Brave came out to ask what we thought of our meal - nice touch. You will enjoy the experience."

  • "This restaurant always impresses! Love everything about it!"

  • "The lobster salad is fabulous. And it's HUGE. The Creme Brulee is wonderful. It's a classy place. I would not take young children to eat there, though I'm sure the restaurant would be accommodating if you needed to bring kids."

  • "Had great dinner with 2 other couples. Excellent service and outstanding food. The steak and artichoke salad was well worth the price and very filling. Nice wine list."

  • "This was the second time I in the past few months I have taken guests - once from Boston and once from Baltimore. Both groups raved about it. Even more impressively, most of the people ordered fish ( trout, pike, and tuna) and these sea coast dwellers loved their meals."

  • "This is a hidden gem. Waiter was excellent. Great food, Best grouper I have ever had and I used to live in Key Largo!! What a great suprise."

  • "I took my visiting parents there and I was very impressed by the capable waiter and the menu. The food was expertly prepared and plated. Peter Brave(the owner) came by to see how the meal was which I found to be charming. The mixed grill entree is so good you cant imagine, put this one on your bucet list!!!"

  • "Brave New Restaurant is where we take special guests and friends. It is expensive, but I've never had a bad meal there. There is some outdoor seating with good views of the Arkansas River, although this seating is limited. The fish on the menu is always fresh and always prepared in a way that brings out the flavor rather than obscures it. The salads are excellent, the desserts are great as well. Never had a bad, or even an average meal there. Always great."

  • "Food was wonderful and the service was great. If I had had more time it would have been nice to eat on the patio."

  • "It is a bit hard but possible to find this restaurant with a beautiful view over the Arkansas river. The dining room is simple, no tablecloth. The menu is diversified from beef to fish via duck and quail. We had the "duck with duck", a duck breast and duck saussage served with wild rice and red cabbage. The combination of tastes was excellent. Entrees are served with a house salad. Wines are priced from $24 and up. Our "Cirque du Vin" was very good at $26. The service was attentive and the chef even paid a visit into the dining room."

  • "If your looking for REAL fresh food, this is the place to go! Awesome date night restaurant! We also went for lunch and took our 2 and 4 year old. They were friendly and the kids loved the food! Highly recommend."

  • "We always enjoy brave, lots of choices but should carry la crema Pinot Gris."

  • "I have been to Brave many times. Owner and Chef Peter Brave always chooses the best local produce and the fish is consistently top notch as well as the beef tenderloin. We are talking fork tender. This is only the second or third time I have given below excellent marks; each time due to the same scenario. This night was a bummer. The owner/chef was not there and our order was simply lost. We waited 50 minutes after salad course before we were served main. The waiter blamed the kitchen which was correct. They overlooked our order and did not apologize. The sous chef knows us and could have offered an apology but rather simply a scowl. I just simply will not stay if Peter is not there. Otherwise this restaurant is a must if in Little Rock."

  • "We had a reservation and when we arrived they told us four groups were ahead of our party and sorry but we were welcome to wait at the bar. 45 minutes past our original reservation time we were finally settled. Mistakes happen, but they were extremely unapologetic and borderline rude. Worst of all we were rushed through our meal. We won't return and it's a shame because it used to be a great and consistent spot to dine."

  • "Living an hour from Little Rock it's always a hard decision where to go for dinner. Most of the time we return to Brave New. Your guaranteed a delicious meal. Our most recent visit we had the special, Walleye, superb."

  • "The atmosphere, the service was excellent. The preparation was overall BLAND. Although all of the meat and sides were cooked to perfection,no flavor. The potatoes were roasted merely that. The beef was buttery tender but once again no seasoning. The seafood appetizer served with 3 options of sauces was the only commendable item for the palate. My companion had a variety meat dish which of the three meats served I will say 2 were quite good on the flavor scale, one dry as was slightly over cooked. The ambiance was delightful and service excellent. I would try other restaurants first before returning. The cost which for 2 including 2 drinks and a bottle of wine was around $150.00."

  • "Melt in your mouth absolutely awesome seafood appetizer special (featured on their Facebook page) - Peter has outdone himself!! We both agreed that we could have ordered a couple of these and a salad and been totally satisfied ... But then we would have missed out on the Scallops and Blueberry Berre Blanc, my all-time favorite special and the outstanding Tuna special!! We left full satisfied and happy - consistency is key here. We had a waiter we'd never had before (new perhaps?) - he was cordial, thorough and attentive, aimed to please, without being at all intrusive or overbearing. Perfect!"

  • "Arrived early by 15 minutes before reservation time. Seated in first dining area....felt like lunch area.Did not know there was another dining area which appeared to be "nicer", e.g. tables were covered by white cloths, giving the appearance of more upscale dining atmosphere. Would have perferred same considering the occasion. Server was good but.not used to detailed food questions. Menu limited. Food was good but too pricey. Would return but only on a special occasion."

  • "Scott was the name of our waiter. My wife and I found him to be very knowledgeable of the restaurant as well as courteous. Every part of the meal was wonderful. The ambience of the entire evening exceeded all of our expectations. We would highly recommend the Mixed Grill entrée to everyone."

  • "We were on time for our reservation and were sad to have a small table against the wall near the servers station, so only one of us had a view. Our app, wine, bread and salad arrived on time to our table. I was dissappointed that the ceaser salad did not the have traditional dressing. We estimate that we waited 45 minutes for our meal to arrive, which is rather odd given we had ordered the tuna (rare) and scallops. After about 30 min, our waiter came over to tell us that the tuna had been overcooked and was being reaccomplished. Once it did arrive, the meal was good, but the potato and zucchini boat on both plates were cold. We ordered a creme brulee for desert. The entire meal took 2 hrs, thus we missed our movie. No comps offered."

  • "The food is so good that you have the experience of taking that first bite and audibly saying "yum." The food is that good. When you combine that quality with the view and a good adult environment, you are in for a wonderful evening."

  • "There was a little wait, but that's to be expected on Valentine's Day. The food was the best I have ever had in my opinion. I would recommend this place for any food lover out there."

  • "Awesome. Prepared perfectly rare. The food here is so consistently good. I personally love the fish special as it is always fresh and prepared to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the patio is lovely."

  • "We had been curious about this restaurant for a long time & decided to try it for Valentine's Day. The table we were given seemed to be in a spillover room used only for special events like this. We were next to an entrance & one of us faced the entrance which was also next to the elevator, thus it was noisy & distracting. The ambiance was lacking & I would not recommend it for special occasions."

  • "So my wife and I went on Valentines Day for dinner. We had a 9pm reservation and didn't get to our table until 945pm. It was overbooked and quite loud for what I was expecting. The waitress was overworked and took almost 10 minutes to get our drink order. The selection of food was good, but I honestly was not that impressed with the quality of the preparation. My experience may just be a result of a busy day, however we left with no overwhelming desire to return. I think we will have to try it again on a regular evening to see if our experience was a fluke or the norm. If my next experience changes my mind I will definitely update this review."

  • "The food was superb as was the service. They accomodated our special seating request made through Open Table, which tells me they pay attention. They even made sure verbally that it was to our satisfaction. One of the finest meals we've had anywhere in a very long time!"

  • "We went prior to the Symphony and as usual had a terrific meal. Prompt but relaxed and personable service combined with great food. We both chose the trout stuffed with spinach and crabmeat which was most definitely a winner. Everything on the menu looked appealing so it was hard to choose."

  • "The smoked fish appetizer is incredible. The dinner salad is always special. The rolls and bread and soft real butter never disappoint. I had the veal, the husband had the special seared ahi tuna. Both excellent. The sorbet was delish! And the cheesecake tall and wonderful. I am so glad we have Peter Brave here in Little Rock!"
