Some of their plates were good the the rest were fantastic. Good selection of wine that pairs well with their food. Server was very knowledgable about both. Great vibe and my new favorite in Healdsburg! Last but not least......worth the drive from the Bay Area.

there were four of us and the waiter recommended that we order no more than 5 tapas to start. We had the squid, and the coquetas (chicken, cheese and ham) both were delicious. Would go back just for those two dishes. Also had the ham and cheese sandwich and the duck ball sandwich, while good would get them again. The mushroom ragu was very good but a little too spicy for my taste but we were told it was a spicy dish. I am taking my husband back when we go to Healdsburg as I know he will love the coquetas. The hostess went out of her way to accommodate us when our waiter was so busy helping at the bar he neglected to bring our bill. She went above and beyond and that act alone made us feel that this establishment was top notch.

No surprises....the Starks deliver another solid addition to their incredible repertoire of restaurants. Simply put, everything about this restaurant, from the space, the food, the drinks, and the service, hit a home run, again. Bravo, Starks. Keep doing what you do, you've got the magic.

We made a return visit at Bravas to bring friends from Prescott, AZ for a special dining experience. We had eaten inside before and likes it so we were disappointed when we were assigned to a table outdoors on the patio. We should not have worried as the experience was enchanting. Both the service and our fellow diners were friendly and helpful. Our food was served in a timely manner but we still felt as if we had had a leisurely dinner with plenty of time to visit with our friends. Thank you for a very special evening with food to remember.

Eating tapas style is fun because you get to try a lot of items. Some you will like better than others, of course. We ordered a lot and enjoyed every one of them. Some dishes, like the paella, were too salty for members of our group and the consensus was that the ice cream was bland, but overall the dishes were interesting and tasty. The beets were a highlight. And the bread with tomatoes smashed on top (I forget what they cal it) was my absolute favorite. One of our sherries was a bit more oxidized that it should be, but we were a table of critical wine geeks, and it was still good. Our server was charming but unobtrusive, very knowledgeable about the menu, and had terrific timing. He was great.

I love all if the Stark restaurants, usually... However it this one left me wondering if they may have expanded too much. Our service was meh. I love the small plates idea so we can all share etc. However good came out drippingly slow and out of order??? What bothered me the most is that I wanted an experience where I didn't have to take my attention away from my family to notice that things were amiss. I wanted it to be seamless...I didn't get that. Uh oh, no check back to order a second glass of wine...What? Missed sales oppotunity is what. Oh well. At least I tried it. Probably never again.

I would definitely suggest you add this to your list of places to eat in Healdsburg, CA.

We have visited a number of tapas bars and restaurants on both east and west coast, and BBT was by far, the most authentic experience to date. The dungeoness crab fiduea was a hit, and the steamed clams in cava was a gem. We would be there every week if we lived nearby.

  • Burned the Paella
    Honeymooners
    Dined on 10/19/2014
My wife and I went here for our last day of our honeymoon. I had her convinced to get the paella with me, she is not normally a fan of them but with the right fish, and meats in this one she was willing to have it. We ordered a few small dishes as an appetizer and the paella for the main course. Unfortunately when the paella arrived it was burnt. Even though the whole thing was not and it was only the bottom of the pan, the rice and the meats all tasted of burning. It would have taken over 30 minutes to make a new one so we had to order something else. Everything else that we had ordered from apps to the alternate dish was spot on, just be wary of the paella.

I went to Bravas on the recommendation of a friend, I had no prior knowledge of this restaurant. What a huge surprise! I've been to most the restaurants in Sonoma County, and was expecting a really nice meal at Bravas as well. The food was so completely unique and wonderful, each tapas dish we ordered as unique and outstanding. As there were five of us, we tried a good part of the menu, in fact we had a memorable three hour lunch. I thought I was getting jaded as we have many really good restaurants here, but now I'm not! I am looking forward to going back soon. Taste buds took notice :)

We enjoyed the outdoor patio on Sunday night and couldn't rave more about our experience. A cool, sparkling glass of cava set us up for a typical Spanish food adventure. We have traveled in Spain a few times and really felt the food was authentic--maybe even better! There was a large group on the patio, ordering the family style offerings, and it looked like a fun place for a group. Will definitely go back again.

Tucked away on a quaint main street of Healdsburg, CA, Bravas Bar de Tapas offers a delicious selection of authentic Spanish cuisine that only the most talented staff can could provide. I felt like I was in Spain, with foliage abound, and the amazing smell of giant leeks bursting with aroma from the barbecue pit. The service was impeccable, however, I would consider the fact that it was opening time at 11:30AM. Service may be slightly delayed if the place is hopping. Either way, I could'a sat there for hours waiting for our delicious food, sipping Spanish wine, and dreaming about my return to this magical restaurant. Shawn
