We have been here several times, but on this last visit the food was not up to par. The quail, which I have ordered several times, was a smaller portion and not as good as last time, the meat was tough and not as flavorful. The pigs ears we had last year, this year you could barely eat them they were so big and tough. The calamari portion was disappointing for the price. The steak, however, was great. I am hoping the chef has not changed, because last month the food was excellent. Our first food got to the table before the wine. We love the casual, outdoor area.

Loved Bravas! Everything we had was delicous and unique. Our server gave us great recommendations and took great care of us (forget his name). The Paella was the best thing I ate that night, I would highly recommend it and go back just for that. Cocktails were great too. Fun spot for all ages and food preferences.

This was our last stop after a great day of wine tasting. We had a party of 8. We were greeted warmly by the wait staff and promptly seated. I think we actually ordered everything on the menu. Not really but we kept ordering tapas and one was better then the next. Our favorites, the bacon wrapped dates, the paella, the calimari and the steak. We could not stop talking about this place. Definitely a place we will be returning to.

This was tapas dining at its' best. The range of dishes was wide, so there was plenty of choices to make. The sherry flights were much appreciated -- really showed us how good sherry can be with food. The staff were very open and friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. All in all, a really fine experience -- it deserves every good review it has ever gotten.

I was very excited to try Bravas, but the food was a bit of a dissapointment. The Wine and beer choices were good as were the beets and bacon wrapped dates. The Paella had much to be desired as it had very little safron and tasted extremely salty. The iberico ham was just OK as well...nothing compared to the iberico ham I had in Spain. I may go back for a drink and appetizer, but not for dinner.

We went here for lunch on Monday and liked it so much brought a group back for lunch on Tuesday. Love tapas because of the sharing of food and conversation. Very good wine list, including many Spanish wines that pair well with the food. Extensive, eclectic, well...tapas menu. Everything we tried was of absolutely fresh ingredients, well-seasoned/spiced, nicely presented and left us wanting more (calamari; tomato and watermelon salad; bacalao; chicken, ham, manchego croquets; beet salad; and save room for the rum balls...to name just a few). Very nice patio and outdoor bar, great waitstaff (all of whom work with each other to serve you, so you never have to wait on "your" waiter!). In all, pleasurable and relaxing dining.

This was our fifth time to visit Bravas. We just happened to go on their opening night, and have returned with friends when they visit from out of town. Each time the food seems to get better. I enjoy the small plate concept and the Starks are masters of it. We live about two blocks from Willy's and it's hard not to go there more often than we do. The service was personal and done with skill professionalism. We took a couple of bottles of wine with us and purchased one off of their very excellent wine list. They were nice enough to comp both of our bottles. Just to give readers a heads up, get a dish that has their romesco sauce on it. My favorite.

The sharing & tasting part of tapas bars is the best part! All the food was great, except the chicken croquettes, which were too salty for my taste. I mentioned it to the server & she said she hears that a lot. Kitchen: When servers hear they're too salty "a lot," it might be time to rethink that croquette recipe! There was no AC, so the place really too hot. AC would make a huge difference. We will DEFINITELY be back, but not in the summer. The food was great, the price was very reasonable, the servers & bussing staff were great - polite & helpful but not pushy.

Great tapas, but when you bring a $150 dollar bottle of wine don't think it's too much to expect a wine glass! They use beakers and whilst I appreciate the Spanish/casual approach which is fine for everyday drinking, don't think it's very appropriate for wine country when you bring a special bottle. They have a pingus on their own list - would be pretty upset if they poured that into a beaker too - think at least some advance warning required before they open your bottle.

Bravas is as wonderful as the other Stark restaurants, all of which count as my favorites. I love the small plate concept, and the Spanish flavors make this more unique and interesting. Four of us shared eight different tapas, and each was delicious. We loved the Sangria, too. The outdoor patio is delightful.

Hidden away on a side street in downtown Headsburg is this charming authentic tapas eatery. inside and outside sections with comfortable though simple chairs. Nice list of Spanish style wines and sherries. Croquettes to die for, flavorful skirt steak. Good service. Surprizingly inexpensive, for this area. I drive through this area every two weeks and this will be on my short list of food stops.

We have dined here numerous times. Unfortunately, I think that Open Door clients are often treated as 2nd Class citizens, when we book through Open Table. We arrived early for a 6:00 PM reservation. At least 75% of the restaurant was empty, but even though we had reservations through Open Table, we were told we could not eat outside. We are "locals" and will now call directly for reservations as I think Open Table doesn't have the local clout.

Not very busy on a Sunday evening but after waiting 5 plus minutes for a server we had to alert hostess that no one had come to our table. Server came and apologized that she hadn't seen us because she wasn't wearing her glasses. Really?! Service was ok after that but I was kinda worried that I might get the wrong food considering the server forgot her glasses. Food was mediocre considering it was Starks. Glad we ate outside because the inside was like as hot as an oven. Wished I'd seen the kitchen beforehand because it looked small and dirty. Would not return even if the food was free.

We enjoyed a wonderful, outdoor dinner with new friends at Bravas this past Saturday night. As we walked to our table in the back patio, the Paella chef was just putting the finishing touches on his dish. We put an order for 4 in as soon as we were seated and enjoyed this dish as an appetizer while perusing the menu. The flavors were outstanding. We shared several additional appetizers before ordering the trout which came with a kale salad; nicely presented and plenty for the four of us to share. The service was excellent and we once again enjoyed the vibrant crowd and nice music.

The food was delicious but I didn't give it 5 stars since the paella was almost cold. It was cooked outside over charcoal which gave it great flavor, but each portion is taken fom this enormous skillet over time so there's no way to keep the portions that come from the end of it warm. Still loved it though. Also ended up eating at the bar (which was very fun) since our reserved table wasn't available for at least a half hour after the time we made the reservation for. Didn't bother us though since the vibe at the small outside bar was great. When we are in this area again, we would absolutely go back to this restaurant.

We celebrated a birthday lunch at Bravas last Thursday. When I made the reservation I mentioned that it was a special birthday lunch and we would love a special table on the patio. On arrival we were seated right in the middle of the patio, surrounded by other tables, nothing special. The patio area is very well kept and there is an outdoor bar. With live music I could see the area being really fun for drinks. Our service was horrible. We had to ask after our dishes more than once. The food was mediocre. We had to search for crab meat in the crab and vermicelli dish and both the prawns and scallops were over cooked and tasted a bit fishy and not fresh. One of the dishes was burnt beyond edible. We had to request a replacement. Boo ;(

Helpful, efficient, friendly service.Modest restaurant in decor; relaxed setting with bar outside, as well as some tables indoors. Reasonable prices. In an environment of excellent Sonoma restaurants, Bravas is more than worth a reservation. Too good to be true! Thanks!

Food was terrific and we enjoyed the wine. Our experience was tarnished by the very warm space they gave us (front window). The windows do not open and it became uncomfortably warm, and the server did little to remedy the situation. Other than that, though, we enjoyed our meal. We indulged in the tapas style by choosing all small plates, declining the server's suggestion to have the tomahawk steak. My personal favorite of the evening was the watermelon salad which was really refreshing and tasty. We also liked the patatas bravas though we probably didn't need to double up since the portion was large. The mitaki mushroom, skirt steak and spinach were also delicious. We'll definitely return though we'll ask for a table outside.

As long as you are prepared to order several small dishes to get full (it is tapas after all) then you are in for a treat. My husband and I are hearty eaters so we got 7 tapas & a couple drinks and were full afterwards. Server was attentive and helpful. Tortilla espanola (with the amazing aioli) is a must. The skirt steak was fantastic. The jamon iberco was tasty (and our server did warn us that it is JUST the jamon) -a little pricey for just the jamon, but tastey none the less. Chorizo -yum. Patatas bravas, good but not a must. Pan oliva with a lot of garlic, but went well with jamon iberco. Can't go wrong with the sangria -with cava is my favorite, but white and red also tasty. Would go back.

Bravas is local for me. Owned by restauranteurs who own several other nearby restaurants, it by far THE BEST! The cocktails are adventurous, but not over the top. Each of the small plates are are unique. The pan tomate is to die for, often requiring a second order. With a few seasonal changes, we always find new adventures and old favorites. The small interior dining area and bar located in an old house are cozy on a Fall evening but the outdoor bar and dining area are fantastic on a warm Summer eve. BRAVO Bravas!

What a wonderful meal. Me and my mom shared 6 tapas (probably 1 too many but we couldn't resist). The favorites were the sautéed spinach, skirt steak, and the goat cheese tostata. The scallops were also great, as well as the fried potatoes. The quinoa salad was just okay-I would skip it. Spread out ordering so you can gauge fullness-we were too stuffed for dessert and regretted that. The service was so helpful and attentive, explaining dishes when asked and keeping our wine glasses filled. Make sure to try one of there Spanish wine selections!! Overall fantastic-we are not from the area, but next time we are in Healdsburg we have a favorite spot!!

My second visit to Bravas Bar de Tapas was a repeat of the delicious meal I had previously only with different "little plates". The wine from Spain matched the food (servers recommendation) and the Straus soft ice cream desert alone is worth the drive. Bravcas is a wine country delight that everyone should try.

Bravas Bar de Tapas offers very good food, but some items on the menu are more interesting than others. On this visit, we had only hits -- the pig ears, the squid and the octopus were excellent. and the rest was very good. The service was great. I and my two guests had lived in Madrid for a year many years ago and they had returned frequently to Spain over the years. Of course we wanted to try out your new tapas place when they came up to visit. We thought the tortilla española was excellent, although would have preferred not to have the aioli on top. The jamón Iberico was top notch also, cut the way we prefer it, rather than shaved as some places present it. I had the croquetas and found them too salty, but perfectly crafted. My friends had a couple of dishes that included hot peppers that did not seem to fit the profile of Spanish food, but we presume most diners are expecting and prefer spicier dishes. The sangria (red) was very tasty but way strong! Worth the visit!
