  • "Great tapas, but when you bring a $150 dollar bottle of wine don't think it's too much to expect a wine glass! They use beakers and whilst I appreciate the Spanish/casual approach which is fine for everyday drinking, don't think it's very appropriate for wine country when you bring a special bottle. They have a pingus on their own list - would be pretty upset if they poured that into a beaker too - think at least some advance warning required before they open your bottle."

  • "Had nice outdoor seating area, but the late morning was too cool for us to enjoy. Food was properly sized and well prepared, but more expensive than a similar styled place near home. Overall very good experience."

  • "Hidden away on a side street in downtown Headsburg is this charming authentic tapas eatery. inside and outside sections with comfortable though simple chairs. Nice list of Spanish style wines and sherries. Croquettes to die for, flavorful skirt steak. Good service. Surprizingly inexpensive, for this area. I drive through this area every two weeks and this will be on my short list of food stops."

  • "We have dined here numerous times. Unfortunately, I think that Open Door clients are often treated as 2nd Class citizens, when we book through Open Table. We arrived early for a 6:00 PM reservation. At least 75% of the restaurant was empty, but even though we had reservations through Open Table, we were told we could not eat outside. We are "locals" and will now call directly for reservations as I think Open Table doesn't have the local clout."

  • "Warm night in Healdsburg, eating on the patio under the huge pine tree--smells of pine, cinnamon, chili and lime. Food absolutely yummy, cocktails amazing--people watching fascinating. Who are these people? We could almost be on the Adriatic."

  • "Not very busy on a Sunday evening but after waiting 5 plus minutes for a server we had to alert hostess that no one had come to our table. Server came and apologized that she hadn't seen us because she wasn't wearing her glasses. Really?! Service was ok after that but I was kinda worried that I might get the wrong food considering the server forgot her glasses. Food was mediocre considering it was Starks. Glad we ate outside because the inside was like as hot as an oven. Wished I'd seen the kitchen beforehand because it looked small and dirty. Would not return even if the food was free."

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful, outdoor dinner with new friends at Bravas this past Saturday night. As we walked to our table in the back patio, the Paella chef was just putting the finishing touches on his dish. We put an order for 4 in as soon as we were seated and enjoyed this dish as an appetizer while perusing the menu. The flavors were outstanding. We shared several additional appetizers before ordering the trout which came with a kale salad; nicely presented and plenty for the four of us to share. The service was excellent and we once again enjoyed the vibrant crowd and nice music."

  • "The food was delicious but I didn't give it 5 stars since the paella was almost cold. It was cooked outside over charcoal which gave it great flavor, but each portion is taken fom this enormous skillet over time so there's no way to keep the portions that come from the end of it warm. Still loved it though. Also ended up eating at the bar (which was very fun) since our reserved table wasn't available for at least a half hour after the time we made the reservation for. Didn't bother us though since the vibe at the small outside bar was great. When we are in this area again, we would absolutely go back to this restaurant."

  • "We celebrated a birthday lunch at Bravas last Thursday. When I made the reservation I mentioned that it was a special birthday lunch and we would love a special table on the patio. On arrival we were seated right in the middle of the patio, surrounded by other tables, nothing special. The patio area is very well kept and there is an outdoor bar. With live music I could see the area being really fun for drinks. Our service was horrible. We had to ask after our dishes more than once. The food was mediocre. We had to search for crab meat in the crab and vermicelli dish and both the prawns and scallops were over cooked and tasted a bit fishy and not fresh. One of the dishes was burnt beyond edible. We had to request a replacement. Boo ;("

  • "Absolutely amazing food- Creative tapas, perfectly cooked, the best "Andalusian" gazpacho we have ever had, delicious sangria. Helpful, efficient, friendly service.Modest restaurant in decor; relaxed setting with bar outside, as well as some tables indoors. Reasonable prices. In an environment of excellent Sonoma restaurants, Bravas is more than worth a reservation. Too good to be true! Thanks!"

  • "Food was terrific and we enjoyed the wine. Our experience was tarnished by the very warm space they gave us (front window). The windows do not open and it became uncomfortably warm, and the server did little to remedy the situation. Other than that, though, we enjoyed our meal. We indulged in the tapas style by choosing all small plates, declining the server's suggestion to have the tomahawk steak. My personal favorite of the evening was the watermelon salad which was really refreshing and tasty. We also liked the patatas bravas though we probably didn't need to double up since the portion was large. The mitaki mushroom, skirt steak and spinach were also delicious. We'll definitely return though we'll ask for a table outside."

  • "As long as you are prepared to order several small dishes to get full (it is tapas after all) then you are in for a treat. My husband and I are hearty eaters so we got 7 tapas & a couple drinks and were full afterwards. Server was attentive and helpful. Tortilla espanola (with the amazing aioli) is a must. The skirt steak was fantastic. The jamon iberco was tasty (and our server did warn us that it is JUST the jamon) -a little pricey for just the jamon, but tastey none the less. Chorizo -yum. Patatas bravas, good but not a must. Pan oliva with a lot of garlic, but went well with jamon iberco. Can't go wrong with the sangria -with cava is my favorite, but white and red also tasty. Would go back."

  • "Bravas is local for me. Owned by restauranteurs who own several other nearby restaurants, it by far THE BEST! The cocktails are adventurous, but not over the top. Each of the small plates are are unique. The pan tomate is to die for, often requiring a second order. With a few seasonal changes, we always find new adventures and old favorites. The small interior dining area and bar located in an old house are cozy on a Fall evening but the outdoor bar and dining area are fantastic on a warm Summer eve. BRAVO Bravas!"

  • "Four of us foodies met to sample the wide variety of tasty small plates as well as a pan of paella for two. It was really fun to explore the different offerings while sitting outside in the back patio. The wine list was good, and my teen daughter had a virgin cocktail. Overall, a great find for a rendevous!"

  • "Tapas is a great spot for a late lunch. The crowd had filtered out and the patio is quieter. As always the jamon plate a winner. Tried the sliced steak and it turned to be another winner. My daughter liked the croquetas. The cocktails are always good and I keep trying new ones. The Sevillana is tasty! Relaxing, friendly, a favorite."

  • "What a wonderful meal. Me and my mom shared 6 tapas (probably 1 too many but we couldn't resist). The favorites were the sautéed spinach, skirt steak, and the goat cheese tostata. The scallops were also great, as well as the fried potatoes. The quinoa salad was just okay-I would skip it. Spread out ordering so you can gauge fullness-we were too stuffed for dessert and regretted that. The service was so helpful and attentive, explaining dishes when asked and keeping our wine glasses filled. Make sure to try one of there Spanish wine selections!! Overall fantastic-we are not from the area, but next time we are in Healdsburg we have a favorite spot!!"

  • "My second visit to Bravas Bar de Tapas was a repeat of the delicious meal I had previously only with different "little plates". The wine from Spain matched the food (servers recommendation) and the Straus soft ice cream desert alone is worth the drive. Bravcas is a wine country delight that everyone should try."

  • "Nothing beats a warm night with friends or family sitting outside at Bravas Bar de Tapas. The waitstaff are professional, thoughtful and unpretentious. The food is amazing and my only complaint is that I can't order everything on the menu! I regularly drive up from Marin to eat here."

  • "Bravas Bar de Tapas offers very good food, but some items on the menu are more interesting than others. On this visit, we had only hits -- the pig ears, the squid and the octopus were excellent. and the rest was very good. The service was great. We dined inside, but in nice weather the patio area out back is ideal. Would definitely return."

  • "The restaurant itself is nice, I liked the outdoor seating area, the waitstaff is rather attractive...but the food was just mediocre. I've been to a handful of Tapas restaurants...and at this one the food was just ok. It wasn't bad, but just ok. We had a few tapas and the paella."

  • "I and my two guests had lived in Madrid for a year many years ago and they had returned frequently to Spain over the years. Of course we wanted to try out your new tapas place when they came up to visit. We thought the tortilla española was excellent, although would have preferred not to have the aioli on top. The jamón Iberico was top notch also, cut the way we prefer it, rather than shaved as some places present it. I had the croquetas and found them too salty, but perfectly crafted. My friends had a couple of dishes that included hot peppers that did not seem to fit the profile of Spanish food, but we presume most diners are expecting and prefer spicier dishes. The sangria (red) was very tasty but way strong! Worth the visit!"

  • "Food was really disappointing--so fatty, and not in a good way. We had a gazpacho (lots of cream, flavor okay), marinated veg w/garlic oily toast (veg actually a spread SOAKED in oil, description misleading), salad w/blue cheese and hazelnuts (over-dressed), ham and manchego sandwich (tasty but too much oil on toast)."

  • "Exceptional food....we would like to try almost everything! The only drawback was incredibly SMALL amount of wine (especially in "wine region") if ordering by the glass and for the price."

  • "It was a lovely afternoon for lunch and Bravas never disappoints. The shaded patio/ bar area is perfect for great atmosphere and food. The drinks aren't bad either, especially the Sherry Cobbler! We love this place and have tried just about everything on the menu and especially like the grilled octopus and calamari in green sauce. A new addition since our last visit is the bacalao flatbread which was delicious. They know how to do seafood at Bravas Bar de Tapas. A salad with tuna belly was a hit too. The service is excellent and this has been true every time we've eaten at this great spot. Outside you can sit and have a conversation easily with music at the right level. They welcome dogs too. Bravo Bravas Bar de Tapas!!! Kuki and Aldo"

  • "We have made Bravas one of our regular restaurants. We love their food. We are slowly eating through their menu to see what we like. So far, we like everything. Their paella is wonderful and the servers make sure you know it'll take 30 minutes to prepare. Fried pigs' ears, Spanish tortilla, chorizo/peppers, ribs, gazpacho, and and and.....are all so wonderful. The service is so good and everyone is pleasant. This is really a great place for outdoor eating."

  • "THey have a nice variety of tapas. One of my favorite dishes, Patatas Bravas, was the best I have ever eaten with their creamy, rich alioli. Crispy pig ears with anchovy were tasty! We sat in the patio, very fun and relaxing. Definitely go and enjoy!"

  • "I was wine tasting with friends from Italy, & was looking for a restaurant where it would be easy to expand/contract the meal depending upon their hunger levels. We were seated in the garden in the back, & at the beginning of our meal, there were many empty tables. This made the garden very enjoyable & quiet. As the meal progressed tables filled, but even when reasonably full, the noise level was at most moderate. The service was attentive. The initial selection of dishes took a bit longer to arrive than I would have liked, but we had nice conversations to fill in the gaps. The food was excellent, & we sampled 10-15 dishes between the four of us. My Italian guests, who travel to Spain often, particularly enjoyed the meal. I plan to return. "

  • "Some of the best I've ever had - that includes having lived in Spain and new York. The chorizo with padrin peppers, dungeness crab with vermicelli noodle cake, and spinach with garlic, raisins, and pine nuts were especially memorable. Tool awhile to get our order in, but service was always friendly and food came out at a good pace once we had ordered. Good spot for couples or small groups just a short walk from the main plaza. We'll be back!"

  • "This was our 5th trip to Bravas Bar de Tapas. Everything we tasted still had magic. The service was definitely less memorable, with just so-so interaction with the staff. From the greeting to table service was punctual and reasonable, but did not have the special connection that had been part of previous visits. Wines offered were good selections and reasonably priced. Thanks"

  • "Have been looking forward to our second visit to Bravas. Food was very good to exceptional. Great outdoor atmosphere and wine selections. Attentive and friendly staff. Only detractions were the loud group at a table nearby and the lack of any special "perks", even though I made it clear it was for an anniversary in the reservation. "
