Brasserie S&PPerfect for ConversationWe're always looking for warm rooms conducive to conversation that also serve tasty food. So Brasserie S&P is a real "find" for us. The lunch menu has a lovely selection of mostly lighter fair. The halibut was cooked to perfection; the sandwiches had high end ingredients and were nicely plated. The chairs are a bit deep for dining, but comfortable. Service was attentive and accommodating. We are already talking about when to go back.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptionalExcellent Service, Delicious Food. We are strict vegetarians and the waiter and chef created the perfect meal. Nice seating. Centrally located in the Oriental Hotel in the financial district in San Francisco. A real gem!
Thanks for you services,
Lisa Herzog6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual elegance at the Mandarin OrWe ate at Brasserie S&P courtesy of a package at our hotel. I was surprised to find that I would return any time. The food was top notch and the service was perfect. The wines are interesting and the server was knowledgeable. I has wonderful Drake's Bay oysters to start, charred calamari and a crab/shrimp Louie as a main course. My partner had crab cakes and halibut. It was quite the seafood fest! Everything was fresh and expertly presented and prepared. As a bonus you can really relax here -- it's not stuffy and the music features soft jazz and older vocal standards. The chairs are comfy and soft. For an unassuming lobby restaurant this was a real find.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAprès movie venueHave been looking for different restaurants walking distance from the Embarcadero theaters for monthly
movie group. Looking for good food, comfortable seating, noise level that allow Senior ears to discuss the movie without having to yell across the table. Lucked out with a Tuesday nite at S&P. can see that if the business hotel was very busy that night the experience would have been different, but still everyone was very pleased the light, pleasant ambiance (vs dark and lounge like) of the restaurant, and staff was willing to adjust the sound level of the music. Everyone enjoyed their meal (grilled calamari, Chinese chicken salad, hamburgers) and would come back for the food and setting.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMso soI think it was a bit drafty being in the lobby of a hotel close to the main door. But it was quiet and nice to be able to chat with my friends. The place felt comfortable, not crowded. There was a wait ordering and the food was so so. My dish did not seem fresh or hot enough.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant, Quiet RoomBusiness lunch works well here as the tables are farther apart than at most lunch places and the dining area is set away from the street. Food was fine, but the quiet was most appreciated.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommend this BrasserieThe resturaunt atmosphere was amazing a great place to relax and have an amazing meal. We started the meal off with one of the house flight of gin, being my first time trying gin it was pretty spectacular. We had three appetizers lamb sliders, oysters and most notiably the pâté. Any one of these is a great way to start a fine meal my favorite was the pâté. For my entree I had a perfectly cooked ribeye. The steak came from a local ranch, so the steak couldn't have been any better. The service was impeccable, we had multiple people constantly checking on the table. I would highly recommend this restaurant.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPeace and quiet ... great brunchI was pleasantly surprised by Brasserie S&P. It's located on the ground floor of the Mandarin Oriental and it's beautifully furnished, with a calm-oasis vibe (except for an annoying kid or two). We came for Sunday brunch and ordered smoked salmon eggs benedict and fried egg sandwich, both delicious. Cafetiere coffee, unlimited loose leaf tea, my kind of place exactly. Service was spotless. Did I say I loved the quiet atmosphere? I will definitely keep this in mind for the future. Dinner might also be a good option, albeit a tad more noisy, I expect.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice, refined, a bit priceyGreat place for a snack or meal before an event in the financial district area of SF. Quiet, refined, pleasant. Very nice welcome. It is a bit pricey, but if you park on Sacramento at 6PM you avoid the garage fees and can put that toward your dinner.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service managedThe food and service managed to outshine the room which is very open and can get very noisy when full. I would suggest that they try to do something to the ceiling to absorb the sound. I loved the food, but would hesitate to return unless I thought it might be a slow night.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOK, OK, so yes, it is a hotelOK, OK, so yes, it is a hotel restaurant, so we weren't sure what to expect, but that said - we will DEFINITELY be back! The service was great - they even gave us extra oysters and extra portions (don't tell the manager!), poured a little extra (free!) wine, and didn't make us strictly adhere to the pre-fix menu with wine pairings. Each course was delicious!! The staff was very knowledgable about the food, making some great recommendations. They even gave away roses at the end of the night. Thanks for making our first Valentines in San Francisco so memorable!2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLove them all - everyone isLove them all - everyone is very nice - especially love Katie!! Always come by to say hello. if I go out for lunch during office hours, I always go there.1/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWHAT A PLACE TO DINEIt was a birthday gift to my daughter Maia and she brought her hubbie Jason. Fabulous. They actually gave her a dessert of truffles with happy birthday written, she could not have been more pleased. He loves Gin and Tonic and they have a special menu for that. They thought it was terrific: food, ambiance, special venue, what a nice choice and success. Thank you for responding to my call to make her birthday special special as I think she is real special.
