A word from Brasserie Provence
Brasserie Provence is Louisville's first French brasserie! We offer casual, upscale dining and traditional French cuisine with a Provencal flair. A large selection of regional and classical French dishes are expertly prepared by Chef de Cuisine Edoardo Bacci, and offer something for everyone at an affordable price. Brasserie Provence offers Southern French wine by the glass, signature cocktails, French, Belgian and local Kentucky beer, and select bottles of wine from Provence and the northwestern US.

Guests can choose between ample seating in the brasserie-style bar, the warm and inviting dining room, and the seasonal outdoor patio. Parties of ten to twelve will be seated at the generously sized chef's table, and parties or meetings of up to 40 can be accommodated in the private dining room.

Join us Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner to experience a taste of Provence!

Diner Reviews
  • "Wonderful French food and atmosphere. We will go back."

  • "Finally, we have another fine dining place to eat in our neighborhood! May Provence continue to be busy so it does not move!--location is the best for those of us who live east of the Watterson X-way near Shelbyville Road at Hurstbourne Lane!"

  • "We both had the veal scaloppini which was perfect - tender, just cooked through and delicious with a mushroom, tomato and pepper sauce. Their french bread was wonderful - so often french bread in restaurants is just bleh. The restaurant is very pretty with French touches throughout. You wouldn't expect such a great place in a large strip mall but there it is. We recommend it"

  • "Everything was perfect. I am French and I really felt like if I was at home!"

  • "I came for a Monday night dinner with some girlfriends. The food was very yummy and our server was personable but rather absent minded - he got some orders reversed and had to be prompted to bring some of our items."

  • "The French cuisine was incredible and authentic! Fabulous atmosphere and lovely owner!"

  • "Our fourth visit to Brasserie Provence and consistent as always. Good menu choices and everyone loved the food, we will return."

  • "We had an issue with no waiter in our area. The manager stepped in and took care of the situation with comping the wine and dessert. He was so quick to make things right and this reflects good management. If they take care of the problems this quickly I would recommend a return visit."

  • "Our overall experience was excellent with one small exception: The boulliabiase was disappointing in that the broth had a muted flavor while the temperature, fish and vegetables were quite good. I have come to expect more garlic, tomato ad saffron flavors for past experience elsewhere."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "Eaten here about 10 times, consistently good and reasonable. Nothing else compares for quality vs. value in the east end."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "As always the food. service, and ambience are outstanding. The Lunch Bunch enjoyed soups and salads, hamburgers, pork sandwich special and I enjoyed the crevettes persillade which is tiger shrimp, garlic, parsley camargue rice and Provencal tomato. Everything was well presented, was fresh and colorful, and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!"

  • "We visited Brasserie Provence for the first time due to having a Groupon. It was wonderful! The Manager came by our table to check on us. Our server was excellent and helped us choose wine and helped me decide which entree I wanted (they all looked so good). Our wine was tasty, the salad and entrees were melt in your mouth good, the service excellent and I am not even sure what word to use the describe the dessert (oh my!). If French food is always this good. . .I'm moving to France! Definitely worth the drive across the bridge. . .even during construction :)"

  • "The food was delicious. I had eaten lunch there before, and it was good. However the dinner menu takes it to the next level. From the outside, you would never expect the restaurant to be as nice as it is inside. Attentive staff as well."

  • "On a visit from California we happened to see this spot on the way to our hotel and, after checking the reviews on OpenTable, decided to give it a try. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. The chef is from Cannes, near where we used to live. The food showed that he hasn't forgotten his roots. As with other reviewers I had the mussels and they were excellent; the broth was better than anywhere else I've had them … except in Cannes. The service was very attentive (I now do not believe the other reviewer who complained about excessive speed); we were there for 2 hours. The wine list is extensive, thoughtful, and (I hope to not spoil the situation) bargain-priced, at least as long as you avoid the "famous". A definite return."

  • "Our reservation was for 6:30 pm and our waiter, Jeffery, was determined to get us out the door in 60 minutes. He was in his car before we were in ours. Isn't a great French dining experience supposed to be all about lingering over your food, the wine and the food? And, to that point, the restaurant is all about the food. Raw oysters, mussels, even the French onion soup wasn't a cliche. It really was great--if we'd just had time to swallow. Located in the old Tony Roma's, it's got lots and lots of tables to fill. Even great food doesn't make up for a rude experience. Maybe we'll be back. First let the paper cut on my hand heal since Jeffery took the check so quickly after I had signed the credit card slip."

  • "we had a nice evening...only somewhat spoiled by noisy guests sitting nearby. The manager was quick to note my comment about the noise and where I want to be seated next time which was very nice...will return....their Mussels are the best"

  • "It is so hard to find a restaurant that excels in delivering the entire package: great food, wine, atmosphere and staff. Brasserie Provence manages to do all of these exceptionally well. What a delight it was to try this place and be greeted so warmly by their hostess even though we were late for our reservation. Our mussels in cream sauce appetizer was so delicious. And the pork chop and salmon entrees equally so. Definitely order desserts!! We are still talking about the cheesecake and opera cake!! If you like Rose wines, they have a really nice, well priced selection. We will definitely be returning here often."

  • "Triple mark-up on wine. Mediocre food not locally sourced. Wondered why the place was empty?"
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "Menu was similar to small places in Nice. The food delivered and was authentically French. Service was perfectly paced and unobtrusive. will be back to try other items on the menu."
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "This is not your fancy French formal restaurant, but the classic brasserie...excellent basic French food--mussels, charcouterie, onion soup, tartes, salad frisee, and excellent entrees. The tables have space between them so it is possible to have a QUIET conversation. No one is shouting! With a good glass of wine, I felt I was back in a Paris brasserie!"

  • "I'm sure people think this is too fancy or expensive for lunch but it's not. For what you pay and get and for less than stellar service in many of the fast casual places in the vicinity, you can get 10 times better for essentially the same cost. Do yourself a favor - go to Provence for lunch."

  • "Wonderful! My wife and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary here. The food was great and the service was great. The mussels and the French onion soup were outstanding. I had the ribeye steak with truffle butter and my wife had the T-bone lamb chops, deeeelicious. A must go for everyone. Prices were very moderate. It was nice not having to drive into town. Five stars... Frank and Lorraine, 05/27/2014"

  • "The owner of this fabulous restaurant has assembled the finest kitchen and dining room staff combined with the most eclectic french menu outside of NYC, Chicago or LA. This is a "must visit" restaurant. The menu is exceptional, offering a wide variety of classical and nuveau french menu items. Paired with a thoughtfully designed wine menu, this place has all the makings of Louisville's Best Restaurant for a long, long time. Our visit there will certainly be the first of many. The outdoor dining offers an alternative to the beautiful interior dining room which is tastefully decorated. I recommend Brasserie Provence for any reason to dine well. The prices are very reasonable for the spectacular quality and quantity served."

  • "We enjoyed our meals tremendously. Much attention is paid to detail & I must say, the mussels are the freshest & plumpest in Louisville. We look forward to trying more menu items in future visits. Next on the list is the Chateaubriand."

  • "We dined here for the first time for our 10-year anniversary last week. The food was amazing (you MUST try the mussels) and the service was the BEST we have ever had. Our waiter gave us the perfect amount of attentiveness and he took the time to explain the entire menu to us (as it is in French). They even brought out a complimentary chocolate dessert (again, absolutely delicious) at the end of our meal for our anniversary celebration. There is so much more we want to try on the menu and will definitely return!"

  • "The Louisville restaurant scene is very "downtown centric." Diners should remember some of the gems in the city's east end and this is certainly one of them. The staff went out of their way to recognize our special occasion. We split two appetizers, the cheese plate and the tapenade. One could easily make a meal out those items alone with, perhaps, a salad or soup. We skipped both to save room for our entrees. My pork chop was perfect and the side of cheesy potatoes was luscious. My wife was less enthusiastic about her duck, but still enjoyed it. We appreciated the elegant but casual atmosphere and diners could feel comfortable dressing up or down. A thanks from both the owner and the chef as we left was warm and genuine. We'll be back."

  • "First visit for us but very enjoyable. Complete French menu covering all the usual entrees. Service efficient but not overly intrusive. Wine list with nice value pricing. Will certainly become a favorite for us."
