A word from Brasserie Provence
Brasserie Provence is Louisville's first French brasserie! We offer casual, upscale dining and traditional French cuisine with a Provencal flair. A large selection of regional and classical French dishes are expertly prepared by Chef de Cuisine Edoardo Bacci, and offer something for everyone at an affordable price. Brasserie Provence offers Southern French wine by the glass, signature cocktails, French, Belgian and local Kentucky beer, and select bottles of wine from Provence and the northwestern US.

Guests can choose between ample seating in the brasserie-style bar, the warm and inviting dining room, and the seasonal outdoor patio. Parties of ten to twelve will be seated at the generously sized chef's table, and parties or meetings of up to 40 can be accommodated in the private dining room.

Join us Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner to experience a taste of Provence!

Diner Reviews
  • "This WAS a great place after it opened. Now it's just average. Service was fair at best, not as good as before! I believe they are having a shortage of bread and butter. The mussels were the smallest I've ever had. The sauce while o.k. was not what it use to be. The pork was good if you like lavender, my wife didn't. The chicken was cooked just right but with little flavor. The steak was very good. I hope they get their act together in the kitchen. For a high price restaurant it did not make the grade!"

  • "Very good overall experience. The service was very good and the summer menu was excellent. The ambience was wonderful."

  • "We have enjoyed dining at Provence each time bot for lunch and dinner. The food presentation is very good and most notable are the specials like salads prepared from the owners garden. This feels very European to me. It is quiet enough to have a conversation with someone at your table and not have to lean forward to hear them."

  • "Brasserie Provence is one of my favorite spots in town. Great for date night but not too formal for a nice relaxing meal with friends. Guy obviously loves owning a restaurant and is very proud of his menu, he takes time to talk to each table. Will be back again as soon as possible!"

  • "Chef really cared about each plate he sends out. So much so that he would not serve us an appetizer we ordered because he was not pleased with how it turned out."

  • "My husband and I went for a date and it was a lovely night with great wine and very good food. The service was slow and it made us feel just like we were in France. :) I got the salmon and it was very fresh and moist. My husband got the veal and french onion soup and it was delicious."

  • "I have been there several times and have been very well pleased. The mussels are great but three times I have ordered they have been not opened or have been empty so I never really received a full order. I had the salmon special and it was over cooked but had a good flavor. Also I think $6.00 for a cup of coffee is out of thepark on price."

  • "We have a delicious dinner of moules and frites with a un-oaked French Chardonnay and flashed fried delicate zucinni blossoms. The owner was attentive and came by to check on us several times. Service was good but not intrusive. Really close to being in France at a brassiere! It was quieter than most brassieres I've been to in France."

  • "Great food and service is always the norm at Provence! The owner always spends time at our table and our visit is always enjoyable. Pork Chop is great! I recently tried the Flank Steak which was awesome....medium rare!!! You absolutely can't beat the French Onion Soup and its always piping hot!!!!"

  • "This is a neighborhood gem -- amazing food, lovely warm and inviting ambience, professional and friendly staff. The owner brings his home cuisine to roost in Louisville along with an extensive knowledge of wine to match the amazing wine list. He will greet you by name as you walk in the door. Wonderful experience."

  • "We had already eaten dinner elsewhere, but not liking the dessert options at the prior place, decided to venture elsewhere. a neighbor had recommended Brasserie Provence so we booked and stopped in to try it dessert. Wife and I ordered the L'Opera, dark choc, almond, coffee cake and the La Tronpezienne, butter cream in a sugar brioche) along with a french press coffee for 2. Real and raw sugar both served in cubes, appealing. La Tronpezienne was our more preferred option in the end but both were enjoyed. the atmosphere was romantic, and we commented on how we liked the black and white still pictures on our way out. Menu looked great, will definitely be back soon to try the full experience."

  • "The Waiter we had was very helpful with the appetizers and getting our orders in before they ran out of anything we ordered. The escargots were not as good as they had been before. Overall, the food was really good, service was outstanding. Great night out with my wife and son."

  • "After travelling to France, it has been difficult to find the kind of taste experience we had in France in Louisville. The Brasserie Provence is as close as we have found. Excellent wine, great food and superior service. The owner is very friendly and informative about his deep understanding of the French culture and cuisine. We highly reccomend this restaurant for any dining occasion."

  • "Second time here. Food was excellent, particularly entrees. Leg of lamb daily feature and grilled tuna were especially good. Noted wife's birthday on reservation and a dessert appeared. Service was excellent - we requested same waiter as the first time because he is so good. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience."

  • "Finally, we have another fine dining place to eat in our neighborhood! May Provence continue to be busy so it does not move!--location is the best for those of us who live east of the Watterson X-way near Shelbyville Road at Hurstbourne Lane!"

  • "We both had the veal scaloppini which was perfect - tender, just cooked through and delicious with a mushroom, tomato and pepper sauce. Their french bread was wonderful - so often french bread in restaurants is just bleh. The restaurant is very pretty with French touches throughout. You wouldn't expect such a great place in a large strip mall but there it is. We recommend it"

  • "We had an issue with no waiter in our area. The manager stepped in and took care of the situation with comping the wine and dessert. He was so quick to make things right and this reflects good management. If they take care of the problems this quickly I would recommend a return visit."

  • "Our overall experience was excellent with one small exception: The boulliabiase was disappointing in that the broth had a muted flavor while the temperature, fish and vegetables were quite good. I have come to expect more garlic, tomato ad saffron flavors for past experience elsewhere."

  • "Eaten here about 10 times, consistently good and reasonable. Nothing else compares for quality vs. value in the east end."

  • "As always the food. service, and ambience are outstanding. The Lunch Bunch enjoyed soups and salads, hamburgers, pork sandwich special and I enjoyed the crevettes persillade which is tiger shrimp, garlic, parsley camargue rice and Provencal tomato. Everything was well presented, was fresh and colorful, and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!"

  • "We visited Brasserie Provence for the first time due to having a Groupon. It was wonderful! The Manager came by our table to check on us. Our server was excellent and helped us choose wine and helped me decide which entree I wanted (they all looked so good). Our wine was tasty, the salad and entrees were melt in your mouth good, the service excellent and I am not even sure what word to use the describe the dessert (oh my!). If French food is always this good. . .I'm moving to France! Definitely worth the drive across the bridge. . .even during construction :)"
