It was a nice time but the entrees were just so so. Great bread , salad ,and drinks. Fantastic waiter. But the pork was on the dry side and the leg of lamb was fatty and smothered in gravy kind of like a pot roast. Wouldn't get either of those dishes again but it's so PARISIAN feeling I will return. Note: it's a pretty place but very cavernous like a cafeteria. Not as intimate as one would want. They need more room dividers in creative ways.

My husband and I spent our 14th anniversary at this delightful restaurant. We were greeted at the door with smiles, congratulations, and warmth. Our server, Tommy, was fantastic, and he made an excellent recommendation for a great wine to pair with our meal. Our server's assistant, Austin, was wonderful, attentive, and charming. The food was marvelous. The Onion Tart is one of the best appetizers the city of Louisville has to offer, and the salads are fresh and fun. I had the Lyonnaise with a fresh poached egg on top. It was perfect with the greens, the vinaigrette, and the house made croutons. Our dinner was the Chateaubriand for two, and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned per the chef's recommendation. The table-side presentation was a great touch. The gratin is the side that should not be missed. The haricot vert were delicious as well. Dessert was a fantastic cake prepared by the chef for our anniversary. We were too full to try any other desserts, but I know we will go back to try to of them. If you're a coffee drinker, they use the French press method. It looked and smelled fabulous as the next table, but we were too full to even try it. We will be returning...hopefully soon!

We arrived around 7:30 on on a Wednesday and there was no wait, I'm not sure what the crowds are like during their busier hours. Service was polite, but not always there when we needed them to be. The food was not top notch, but it was still pretty great. Prices are par for the course for what you're getting. The Moules Marinieres were great, the mussels had a texture that was not too gritty and the white wine/creme broth was fabulous, especially with the bread dipped in. The pommes frites were also very tasty, fried in some kind of Animal fat rather than oil. The ambience of the place is also very nice. Background music was being played by a live guitarist. Overall I would give this place 4/5 stars.

Very nice ambiance, but not great or one that made you feel like you were in a "French" restaurant. Some appetizers were good, but main dishes were subpar--the yellow fin tuna was over-cooked and tough--very disappointing. The tart for dessert was listed as "flambé" but this didn't happen and when we asked about it they made a lame excuse that it was--no way! Also, the flourless chocolate cake was very disappointing as well. This restaurant was "just not there" with any dish and certainly didn't not meet Chef Paul's definition of "good food"--that's when you take one bite and cannot wait to take the next bite.

A very nice evening. The only comment I would make is we were seated near a couple and their 2 young, table banging children. I love kids. There was definitely a lot of noise, as is normal for children. I suggest such a little group be seated in a further back location vs. right in the middle of 8 other tables. We did not notice the children when we were led to the table. Perhaps the host could have said something and given us a choice on seating location. Tactful, but making us aware what we were getting with 2 high chairs within 6 feet.

The reviews were great so I was a little surprised that it was just ok. The service was not great as both the busboy and server seemed to be confused by some fairly simple requests. The food was good, not great but good. If you live nearby, definitely worth visiting and maybe even making a regular stop but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go.

The restaurant was not very busy on the Tuesday evening we visited. Things started out well with the personable staff and the great beverages we enjoyed. The menu has something for everyone and the specials also sounded good. Our party enjoyed appetizers, then the sea bass, ribeye & chateaubriand. All were excellent. Side items were good, but not great. The deserts were very good, but not “to die for”. The owner was a hospitable host, however, our server was not aware of the flow of the dinner. After we ordered our meals, he was rather scarce. It took a very long time to go from entrée to desert to the door. I would recommend Brasserie Provence to all, but I would advise them to be prepared for a slow pace of service.

We had mussels in a white wine sauce that was very good. Used sauce to dip bread. Ordered Chateaubriand for two and the roasted beef tenderloins were cooked perfectly per our request. Recommend the Grautin Dauphinois (potatoes grautin served in a small iron pan with a melted cheese). This was our third trip to this restaurant.

to Brasserie Provence; amazing atmosphere, attentive and knowledgeable staff, good and affordable wines and I haven't even started on the food! My husband always orders the CAB burger which is thick and juicy, cooked to order and accompanied by a small salad and crispy fries - a carnivore's dream. I've sampled many appetizers, salads, and daily specials and have never been disappointed. The other day, we shared a creme brulee with figs that was absolutely scrumptious. As I said, hurry on over!

This shopping plaza restaurant maintained a light and comfortable interior, and very attentive service. The menu is varied and is available on line. This is my third time eating here, and the most memorable items were the charcuterie and the duck breast, but the pork rib eye au poivre had the taste of supermarket brined pork, and was not crusted with peppercorns as I had expected from the name and the ratatouille was overcooked for my taste. The desert cake was a dense layered raspberry hazelnut chocolate mix that was intense but somehow like most of the food, seemed ordinary. I think there is better value in other Lousiville restaurants, and I have had better French food in Louisville, but there are few similar restaurants in this area.

I would go back, for the French Onion Soup. It was perfect, just like I had growing up, in NO. We went for dinner, on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. I'd go for lunch, for the soup. I am picky about my Creme brûlée and was disappointed. The consistency of theirs is too thin. I did not like the fruit inside, on top would be much better. The Salmon special was pretty bland. My husband was not thrilled, with his shrimp dish. We loved the bar. Decor is nice.

I took my daughter to this restaurant at lunch time. The server was really awesome in explaining the menu. When my daughter disliked part of her meal she was offered another side item to replace it. We finished our meal; I ordered the Creme Brulee and it was so tastey! I also ordered one to take home to my spouse since he was unable to come with me. They accommodated that! This is a first since the dessert had to come home in the dish it is made in. I said something about mailing back the dish and my husband said we would take it to them when we went there to dine ourselves, so I get to go back and yes I am ordering ratatouille everyone who likes stew should do the same. Just give them a try I am sure you will go back! I love the service!

We perused the menu and wine list on the Internet before we made reservations but we were open to changing our minds at the last minute if our waiter recommended something special. Our waiter (Peter) affirmed our selections and recommended an outstanding bottle of French wine (Vidal-Fleury CDR) reasonably priced at $40. Since it was our wedding anniversary, we were presented with a complimentary pastry called Marjolaine (chocolate, chocolate butter-cream, raspberry and hazelnut) which rivaled our dessert selection of La Tropezienne. I would be hard pressed to say which one I liked best . The patron dress ranged from shorts with sandals to sport jackets and ties and everything in between. All-in-all a very good night at a reasonable price.

Couldn't believe our luck in finding a great French bistro when we stopped in Louisville for the night. We were driving from Chicago to our home in Southern Middle TN, and I coudn't bear another Cracker Barrel meal. Luckily we found a reservation time that fit with our schedule and stopped for a lovely meal. As nice as I've had in Los Angeles, Montreal, Chicago.... even Europe. We had duck and lamb, both cooked perfectly. (and reasonably priced, too) Cleaned our plates and shared a dessert. Service was great, and friendly but not overly so. The French owner should be so proud of his lovely restaurant!
