Brasserie L'Oustau de ProvenceAn undiscovered gemThree friends and I had dinner here recently and were more than pleased with the service, ambiance, and especially the food (the pot de creme is to die for). Although it was a Saturday night, the place was nearly empty. The next day we spoke to a local shopkeeper and asked her about the place. She said she hadn't heard good things about it. Well, we want to change that! We're from out of town and consider ourselves moderate foodies. This place is a real find. The Owner is always there and is a total gentleman, checks in on diners throughout the meal, greets you as you enter the restaurant and bids you adieu as you leave, he obviously really cares about his business and each diner's experience. The food is superb, from appetizer to the dessert. The other night I had a delicious beet salad followed by steak frites and then a pot de creme dessert...I walked out of the restaurant beyond satisfied. The prix fixed chicken was fair as not as hot as the women would have liked and partly overcooked. It was Tuesday so the place was not crowded. Definitely going back there. Service was excellent, food was excellent.
