A word from Brasserie Brightwell
A converted garage features soaring ceilings, garage doors that open onto the patio and outside bar, with a wood fired grill, raw bar and a vast craft beer list all make for the hottest restaurant on the Eastern Shore. A nice dinner for two or a quick burger at the open kitchen counter, you can always count on great food, friendly service and fun. Opened in November 2010, Brasserie Brightwell is located in the Easton Market Square at 206 North Washington Street in historic Easton, MD and serves French-inspired cuisine with an American twist. Owned/ operated by brothers-in-law Chef Brendan Keegan & Brian Fox of 208 Talbot fame, and Bob Yabroff.Continued

  • "The Sunday dinner special is not to be missed -- half priced bottles of wine and $10 steaks. Are the steaks the best I've ever had? Not hardly. But are they the best $10 steaks I've ever had? Oh, yeah. Perfectly cooked and served with world class fries. If Béarnaise had been included, I'd've thought I was back in Paris. Oh, and, PS, you don't have to stick with the steaks. I've never been disappointed with anything at Brasserie Brightwell."

  • "What a delightful restaurant this is. The restaurant faces Washington Street, which during the day is a busy street. In the evening it calms down. There is outside seating, which might be nice in season, but I was there on a wintry evening. The service was accomplished, yet warm. The menu was that of a typical bistro. I order moules frites, which were excellent, the mussels succulent and perfectly cooked, the sauce, a great accompaniment. The prices are very reasonable for a good restaurant in Easton. (My entree was $19.) Parking is a bit of a problem, as signs around the restaurant reserve parking for neighboring businesses, but I was told it was permissable to park in Talbottown across the street. All in all, this was a delighful find."

  • "First time to this restaurant, just moved to the area. Our server was very nice and well informed. Being new, we asked him a lot of questions. Some of the oyster options were new to us, tasty, no complaints. One in our group ordered one of the steaks, cooked perfectly to order. The restaurant is charming in decor. Definitely a keeper."

  • "I have been to Brightwell many times since they have opened. The atmosphere is nice, warm and welcoming. The food is another story. This establishment wants to be a fine dining destination but can never rise to the occasion. The food is not consistent. The meats are never cooked well and the shell fish is always room temperature when it should be cold. The service staff is erratic too. Often you will have a good server but many times we have had unknowledgeable servers who might be attractive but know nothing about the foods that they are serving. This establishment should either raise the bar and actually become a fine dining establishment or simple lower the prices and become bore of a café/bar which is what it really is."

  • "Took my wife for a Valentine's weekend in Talbot county. Couldn't book a table at the Inn at Perry Cabin, so we booked here. I think we ended up with a better meal here than we would have had at the Inn. Even though there a ton of great options for carnivores, this is one of the few restaurants on the shore with a lot of great options for vegetarians too (which we are). The food was great, with the exception of the soup du jour, which was a tomato bisque which was mediocre. The service and ambiance were both excellent. Overall, it was a GREAT start to our Valentine's weekend."

  • "Sunday night is Steak Night at Brasserie. Nice variety of cuts, ours were delicious. Beet salad was splendid, as were the Crispy Brussels Sprouts. The French Onion Soup had tasty pieces of beef brisket but could have been hotter - it was a very cold night and the room was a little cold. The Petite Bouche triple dessert sampler was a perfect taste of sweets after a large meal. Staff was courteous and friendly, but a little slow. Nevertheless, a very good dinner experience, and a worthy anniversary celebration. Reservations through Open Table get only high-top tables around the edge of the room. We requested a regular table in the middle, and were accommodated but this detail should be mentioned on the reservation form."

  • "We tried Brightwell several times since it opened and was never happy. Friends told how good it was since it re-opened after the fire so we gave it another try and our expectations were high. The burger and fires were good. I had to try the soup of the day. The waitress touted how wonderful it was, cream based potato with caramelized onions. The onions were those canned onions we used to use on green bean casserole years ago. Awful. The soup was bland with little favor. When the waitress picked up the half eaten soup with those awful onions piled on the side you would think she would inquire but I guess she knew the answer. On a slow cold mid-week night the service was less than attentive. Don't believe we'll give Brightwell another chance."

  • "First time eating at this French Bistro. Decided to eat at the bar. Their happy hour had some great drink and appetizer specials from 4-7PM, so I enjoyed a few and also ordered the Duck Confit from the main menu. Started with the Spicy Vietnamese wings and the Escargot Provencal....both were extremely tasty with fantastic flavors! Then went onto order a third appetizer which was half mussels (pick of three flavors) and chose the red curry and cilantro. Enjoyed so much, I used a spoon to enjoy all the broth. Last, I had the duck confit. It was a little salty but I enjoyed. The crispiness of the skin along with the white beans and salad all were terrific. So glad I found this place on Open Table and would definitely go back again!"

  • "I have dined at Brasserie Brightwell many times, but mostly in the evening, when I have enjoyed their delicious steak frites and other entrees. This time I met my son for lunch and wanted a salad. I was very happy I ordered the Salade Nicoise: it was delicious. The tuna and hardboiled eggs were cooked perfectly and the greens and salad dressing were excellent. Service also was excellent."

  • "We were very happy to see the Brasserie re-open! We sure missed our favorite Easton restaurant and the Maine Lobster Salad! For starters, my wife had the Potato soup du jour and loved it while had my tried and true Seafood Chowder on a cold, wintery evening. Since it was later in the evening, we followed those up with a Caesar Salad and again, my favorite, Maine Lobster Salad....c'est formidable! Service was great, everyone was friendly and attentive, very nice experience....again."

  • "Recently, had a business lunch at Brasserie Brightwell in Easton, MD. Service was outsinduing from entry to departure. Friendly, thoughtful and fun. Setting is great with a nice relaxed decor but unique and colrful in many ways. Food was excellent. I had Tomoato Bisque and a Veggie baguette. Simple food prepared in a very eye catching presentation with creative complexity in flavors. On a diferent occassion I would have loved to trry the beers. Great selection of on tap and bottled beers."

  • "We went on a Sunday night which is half off all bottles of wine night How can you pass that up? I had a mushroom app that was very tasty and the flatiron steak which was done as ordered. The waitstaff were all helpful and attentive. The decor looks right of a Paris cafe. I am sure eating here in the spring is special as the front of the restuarant rolls open with two large doors to invite the outside in. Only drawback, you are sitting on the main drag through town. I would recommend this to a group who wanted to sit and enjoy good service at an affordable price (especially on Sunday nights!)"

  • "We have been here several times but our most recent visit was better than ever! We splurged on appetizers galore, our favorites are definitely raw oysters on half shell, escargot & baked clams from the wood fire. The smokiness infused into the dishes here is amazing. Our secret treasure here is the flat iron steak ($15). It's the cheapest of the 3 steak frites and so so good. We are traditionally ribeye people but here there's no need to go there. This steak always impresses, tender, smoky, flavorful, covered in herb butter. My mouth is watering at the thought. A wonderful date night spot or perfect for a crowd if you want something fun & exciting. Do not miss in Easton, our fav spot in town hands down. And we live here..."

  • "We were in town for one night after selling our vacation home. We wanted a place to celebrate that said welcome to the future. This was it. From the moment we walked in we knew we had chosen the right place for dinner. The service was welcoming,informative and friendly. We received all the attention we needed without feeling the server was "joining " us for dinner. We enjoyed a variety of local oysters and now know which are our favorites. Our steaks were cooked exactly as order and tender and delicious. I can't wait for warmer weather to come back and maybe linger at the outside bar enjoying some oysters and cold beer. A comfortable gem in Easton for sure."

  • "Had dinner here this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday night. Food was great both nights, but huge difference in the ambiance. Sat was like a huge party and we could barely hear each other across the table - it was so crowded and noisy, but Sunday was quiet and much more conducive to dinner conversation. Highly recommend the grilled oysters and mushrooms on toast appetizers, and the filet & frites. Great creme brulee. Can't wait to return to Easton."

  • "One of the most fun dining experiences I have ever had. Wonderful atmosphere with an elegant yet comfortable feel that got you excited about the meal ahead. Wine and beer list made a decision difficult with a well thought out compliment of both. The food was nothing short of spectacular. We had the grilled sausage and chicken confit to start, followed by salmon and the filet. Everything was perfectly cooked with a presentation that was complimentary to the high level of care and passion that clearly went into creating each dish. Service was outstanding, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and knew the menu front to back. If you are anywhere near Easton this is a must stop and honestly this place is so good it is a destination."

  • "I received a call Friday morning telling me our reservation was cancelled for that evening because of a fire. When we checked into our hotel, they told us the fire occurred two weeks earlier. We had made the reservation for ourselves and family members from out of town so it required a last minute decision on what to do for dinner. I understand that the fire necessitated cancellation but I think they could have contacted us sooner. I am sure that by Wednesday or Thursday they likely knew they would not be open."
