  • "My experience was great the hostess was very nice I believe her name was Wendy she smiled and made me feel welcomed the food was great the server was wonderful couldn't ask for me. Management was very nice but it was a bit noisy but over all fanastic! I would totally go back!"

  • "The waiter named two specials when he came to our table and I thought they were both entrees but it turned out the first one, which was Duck, was just an appetizer. So to fill my meal, I also ordered the brussel sprouts. Both were very good. But what really made the meal was the Straffe Hendrik Bruges Tripelbier. It was really tasty. I'd definitely go back."

  • "I used to love Brasserie Beck, but lately it has been disappointing. This most recent visit might be our last. My husband's steak was overcooked, and while he was able to send it back, it was still just not very satisfying. My steak was tough and the bearnaise sauce was just a congealed mess. Given the price, I expect more from the experience. The frites and beer are still awesome, so this might just be a happy hour destination from now on."

  • "A little chaotic and loud, but friendly service, good food and delicious desserts."

  • "I got the recommendation for this restaurant from a longtime bartender friend of mine who was going to work at one of the locations. First of all, I am really a fan of Belgium beer. The blondes, singles, triples and the QUADs! Well needless to say, they carry an array of them all. For this visit, we really just headed in for a late beer and some mussels which truthfully are expensive (for what they are), but delicious nevertheless. I will definitely be going back to this location for a happy hour."

  • "Had a late lunch reservation, my boyfriend and I have always wanted to come here and we finally decided to go. When we first got there the hostess greeted us, with a great smile and made us feel very welcomed. Our server was splendid, very attentive and made sure everything was going good, props to the manager who hired him. We order the classic white wine (full portion) and it was delightful the mussels were really good and the fries on the other hand are the BEST We would definitely recommend this place to a friend. We had an amazing experience at Brasserie Beck! We will be back soon!"

  • "Hard to believe that after all these years Brasserie Beck can still deliver a this level. Delicious food and a wonderful beer list... still one of the best in the area."

  • "Stopped by for late brunch while walking back from the Capital. It was quite good. The chicken & waffles were very flavorful and well made. The breakfast sandwich was good but could've used more of the house cured bacon. Opted not to do drinks, but the "do it yourself" mimosas looked interesting but too expensive for 2 people. We'll return for another round next time we're in DC!"

  • "Had a late lunch reservation and the place was mostly empty. Service was terrible. Waited 20 minutes for iced tea to get delivered. Food was served 30 minutes after ordering and was dried out and cold. Have been there before and this was incredibly disappointing."

  • "Food was outstanding, but the waitstaff seemed distracted. For example, I got mussels, but no bowl for the shells for the first half of my meal. Refills on drinks was slow. The restaurant was busy but did not seem slammed so I'm not sure what was off. That said I would go back when its cooler and sit outside. The noise level inside was high."

  • "This has been a long time favorite but our recent visit was redeemed only by outstanding service. Out waitress was able to get the chef to provide frisee salads that had disappeared from the menu. The pan of mussels was skimpy at best and not really a full serving. The cost for dinner was surprisingly high, given that we were eating moules frites. Yes the beer selection is good, but I might sate my belgian obsession elsewhere in future."

  • "We really enjoyed the outdoor dining experience here. The mussels and onion soup were both outstanding as appetizers! The main courses were the disappointment for us. The lamb porterhouse was almost all bone with very little meat and the sauces on all of our dishes were a little overwhelming. Our waitress had a bit of trouble staying focused. She almost hit 2 of us in the head with her tray and a menu because she was talking to another server while trying to serve us."

  • "Our server seemed annoyed the entire time and was not friendly at all. At some moments he was rude....interrupting our conversation with dirty looks and harsh announcement that he needed to tell us the specials. The hostess and waitstaff also were not friendly (no smiles or manners). The food was good, but service was so poor that I don't think I'll return."

  • "A very inconsistent experience at Brasserie Beck. The hostess could hardly make you feel LESS welcome: barely looked at us, no greeting of any kind and when we asked if we could have a table on the terrace, it was obvious this was a chore for her... My wife and I both noticed it. Off to a very bad start... But the waiter almost saved it all: courteous, knowledgeable, quick, yet never overbearing. Appetizers were incredible! But the main course was questionable... The meat quality was very bad and the food was barely hot. Disappointing considering it was the priciest item on the menu. Deserts and coffee were perfect! But they were brought without utensils (not by our waiter, we then saw him point it out to the other members of service)."

  • "Overall we enjoyed the meal but our server was taking care of way to many tables. She was not attentive to any of her tables."

  • "Such a great little spot to eat outside!! The food was excellent and the service was very French. We didn't mind because there was no rush to get through the meal. If you are looking to grab a quick bite, I don't recommend this place. You will have to flag down your waiter. If you are looking for great ambiance and terrific food, I recommend checking this out!"

  • "My wife and twin daughters took me here for a Father's Day celebration. We decided to sit inside and the table was perfect. The service was awesome and very attentive. He made the girls feel so welcome. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Had a great time. Lastly, my daughter lost her first tooth at your restraunant, so it will be forver fames for the King family..."

  • "Best mussels in DC by far. I had the Mediterranean, they brought the mussels to the table in the Sautee pan used to cook them. Very cool. Fries were outstanding compliment to the mussles. Simple a great find!"

  • "So I love love love this place. Always a go to when friends are in town or locals who have never been. The kitchen never disappoints and bar is great. Great big outdoor seating is always a plus and we say outside on a beautiful June evening. This visit the service was terrible. Waiter forgot us most of the time. Food arrived (mussels and frites of course). No bowls, no fish forks until we tracked the waiter down. While we watched the mussels steam escape from the now open container. Wine service no better. I was disappointed and embarrassed frankly. It wasn't that busy. Yes I would go back but I would check before to make sure they either have enough staff or the right staff."

  • "Late evening dinner was delicious. Mussels and frites were as good as any I ever had in Belgium, where I lived for 4 years. Portions were big - we split an endive salad which was terrific. Probably could've gotten by with a smaller portion of mussels....but they are so yummy as was the white wine sauce and bread. Great beer and wine selection. Service staff were very professional but our waiter seemed to forget us after our food was served....unfortunate as another beer would've been great. Lower rating on ambience due to seeing a rat run across the pavement into the bush next to where we were seated. Would recommend eating indoors or away from the street if you're on the patio!"

  • "Our second visit there. The spiced tuns was very good, SMS so was the lamb porterhouse. Not cheap, but worth the visit."

  • "This is my go to place for a nice lunch and it did not disappoint. I had the new garden vegetable salad and it absolutely delicious with roasted beets, squash and cauliflower on top of frisee, baby kale, and other greens. Really inspired. Mussels in white wine were consistently the best in town, and coffee served in the press with a "bonus" little almond muffin was excellent as well."

  • "Had a friend in from out of town, and this was a great place to meet to catch up! A nice variety of food choices, a noise level where we could hear each other, excellent food (the croque monsieur was delicious!), and pleasant staff."

  • "I've been coming here for years and I love this place! I took my mother out to dinner and she had the mussels (I had the seared tuna) and we couldn't have been happier with our experience."

  • "$12 to $14 for Hendric and Affligem drafts? $9 for an Edmund Fitzgerald bottle? While I must admit that the mussels and brussel sprouts were delicious (as were my beers), the extent of the "DC pricing" is well beyond normal. I enjoyed my experience, but will not be going back. "

  • "My wife & I were celebrating our 2-yr anniversary and Brasserie Beck was the perfect spot. Due to prior commitments, we had a late dinner (9pm), and I had communicated the special occasion with BB's staff/host a few days prior. They did everything I requested and then some, from writing Happy 2-Year Anniversary on the dessert plate, to helping me choose the dessert, to the waiter congratulating us when we first sat down & got our menus. The food was outstanding as usual, and it was a beautiful night to sit on the patio (which is always a treat), although the music selection/noise level were a little off. Regardless, all our dishes came out prepared perfectly from the apps to the entrees and dessert -- as always, BB did not disappoint!"

  • "I went this weekend with four people to celebrate my Birthday. Pretty setting, poor service and food. The pork chop was pure fat, the mussels so spicy you could not eat them, even though the waiter advised us they were not spicy. Hamburger meat was overdone. We did complain to the waiter who rudely and without apology took it off our table and eventually off our bill. An assistant told us we could have dessert on the house. When we inquired as to this, the manager stormed over, told us we were taking advantage of the restaurant, yelled at us, and made us feel low. I said, "this has not been too good for us either". He was rude, never got a Happy Birthday wish, he never apologized, and put the issue on us. We would never go back!!!!"

  • "It's my go to for a bite before flying home. It's got great bar service with fantastic bartenders. I took a chance and made dinner reservations there with my girlfriend (who'd never been to DC). She was impressed and I relieved. Awesome service, incredible wine and beer list, and peerless food. The Octopus is incredible. "

  • "Having dined on Friday May 23 and had an outstanding dining experience, we booked another dinner on Sunday, two nights later and had a less than memorable time. The waitress paid little attention to our table. My husband asked for a wine bucket for wine and she simply said "sorry we don't have any" He managed to find one on the other side of the patio by himself 5 minutes later. Along the way he dropped his fork and when he asked the waitress for another, she said "I am really busy now" so he went inside and found his own. Dinner took forever to arrive and when it did, his pasta was cold and the number of shrimps was down about 3 from his previous order of the same dish. My tuna was cooked to perfection. "
