Brasserie 529You must try this restaurant!Loved this restaurant. I've lived here 19 years so I've experienced almost all the fine dining options Savannah has to offer. This one certainly ranks right up there and I highly recommend it. Here's what makes it different; it's menu sticks to the French theme, and doesn't overwhelm the diner with a myriad of options. They have their signature dishes and they do them well, We started w/ the fromage cheese plate and the selections were delicious. Oh, let's not forget the chardonnay infused bread and honey butter to start. I could have had that for dinner. We followed up with the radicchio salad and let me tell you, It was amazing. Finally, I had scallops and risotto and my husband had the duck. Both were simply unbelievable.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTasting MenuMy Bride and I decided to do the tasting menu with wine pairing. She had never done one before and she absolutely enjoyed the experience. I have done a couple tasting menus before the one at Brasserie. This one ranked right up at the top. Food was fantastic and the wine pairings were spot on. Wait staff was very friendly and eager to tell us about the wines and food. The chef even came out to ask what we thought of the experience after the 3rd course. Great overall experience!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBrasserie 529 gets our vote! What a treasure! My college best friend and I meet for lunch monthly in Savannah, driving in from Hilton Head and St Simons. We're both in our 60s now and picky about our food and wine. We want our experience to be both delicious and memorable. Brasserie 529 delivers . . . AND it offers an off street parking area. Pure heaven in downtown Savannah. We'll be back, often. P.S. I'm going to try to replicate the carrot fennel soup. Excellent!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful dinner spotThis was just the spot for the romantic dinner my wife and I where looking for. This was our 1st visit to brassie 529 but won't be the last. Food was fantastic as was the service, we dined outside on a beautiful spring evening.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day Brunch was wonderfulWe went to Brasserie 529 on Mother's Day and it was amazingly good. My friend had the waffles and I had the seafood in pastry. Both were great. The chocolate mousse we had for dessert was very rich; we were actually unable to finish it.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Evening!Being Savannah locals we have talking for some time about goint to Brasserie, I'm so glad we did. We are early diners so we were sat outside, which was perfect. The food was unique, very good tasting and the martini was PERFECT. Yes, Elder Flower in vodka, does work! We were so wrapped up in picking entree' that we forgot to order "sides" if you will. It was an outstanding dining experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTaking Mom OutI took my mother out for a pre Mother's Day dinner. We got there early ( 6:30pm) on a Wednesday. We ordered the frog legs and escargots for an appetizer which was amazing in the sauce that came with it. In fact we dipped the fresh bread that we received in it so it would not be wasted. Mom had the flank steak and I had the scallops. The steak came out medium rare which was good for us, but, you may want it cooked a little more. The scallops were cooked perfectly and came with mushrooms that were delicious. The portions seemed a little small at first, but, once we finished we had plenty. In fact we didn't order a dessert. All in all it was a great experience. Can't wait to go back and try the mussels and turtle.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! Wish they wouldExcellent! Wish they would move to North Carolina!!!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this place if youDon't miss this place if you are visiting Savannah. The scallops with pan seared risotto cake was cooked to perfection. The lemon and goat cheese gratin was fabulous (although a little undercooked for my liking). My husband loved his steak and gaufrettes. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and knowledgable. Thank you for a delightful and thorough scrumptious dinner.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful and charmingWe were in town for just one night and selected Brasserie 529 based on OpenTable comments. We were not disappointed. The Charcuterie plate was wonderful, as were our entrees - the best stead I have had in months - and dessert. Put this charming spot on your radar.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurant, elegant,Excellent restaurant, elegant, and perfect for a romantic dinner, with a very attentive staff and a wonderful menu. As a vegetarian, I particularly appreciated the vegetable dish and all of the vegetarian appetizers. My new favorite Savannah restaurant!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant in an areaGreat restaurant in an area a bit off the beaten path from the others in the Historic area of Savannah. Prices were what we expected and the food was great. Would eat there again if in Savannah.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only thing that did notThe only thing that did not sit well with us was the number of menu items they were out of. Makes you think that they are having cash flow problems. They were out of 6 to 7 main menu items. Not a great way to start the evening. Other than that all was good and the service was exceptional. Would try it again…
