The funny thing is that there was more than enough room in the restaurant that I didn't have to be scolded. If the service was less snobby I would have recommended this restaurant to others."

  • "All I can say is "Amazing"! I took my fiance here for his birthday, and we both absolutely loved it. It is quite expensive, so we wouldn't go back unless it's for another special occasion, but when it is, we'll be there! Nothing bad to say about it. The ambiance was nice (candlelight, dim, romantic), the food was the best we've ever had, and the seasonal special (4 glasses of wine with perfectly paired horderves) was very very good - even when we played around with mixing up the sequence, we could tell that the chef knew what he was doing! Certainly an up-scale hidden gem in Toronto!"

The food was amazing and the decor quite lovely. Nice bar area near the front the the restaurant and a cozy patio outside make this a real winner."

  • "Out for late birthday dinner with my friend who gets one night a month from her husband & kids to come into the city from Milton so we can go to a lovely dinner and catch up and have a few drinks. Here is what went down: 1. Terrible host (could go into major detail) 2. Food - the price for the quality (halibut and the duck with a side of fries) disappointing. Empty plates and cold fish. 2. Atmosphere - Annoying. Pick what type of restaurant you want to be and stick with it. It's like a lounge, nightclub, "fine-dining" and Patio brasserie all in one. 4. The drink girls - Really? No issue with the concept, but the dresses are horrific and so not classy. Think more cigarette girl style. At least a bit more classy while being ogled by old men."

  • "I took my mom here for Mother's Day Brunch. We made a reservation but decided to sit on the patio as it was such a beautiful day so we had our pick of tables. The service was top notch. Our waiter was very attentive and didn't miss a beat. I also was impressed with the other staff holding the doors open when we went inside to use the washroom. The food was very good, however my mom's quiche was cold and she had to send it back. Within 5 minutes she had a new quiche and she said it was one of the best she has had. My omelette was delicious and we loved everything else we ate. Overall I was impressed with Brassaii and will definitely be back."

  • "Brassai used to have great food and service, but our last lunch there was a different story. We reserved a patio spot, but when our guest arrived, they were seated indoors. When we arrived & asked to be outside, the person seating us showed us to the side patio, that was in the shade, & just has high tables for two & only lounge seating for more than two. We asked to sit in the larger patio that was in the sun and was told it belonged to the other restaurant. Since we know that's wrong asked her to check. She found out the patio did belong to Brassai, so seated us. This took a lot of time. The waiter was indifferent, borderline curt, and the food wasn't great. The chicken sauce was actually indelible. Bizarre. Used to be great!"

  • "The staff was very friendly and courteous. The food was very tasty and perfectly cooked. I tried the squash soup as an appetizer-and it was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I had the scallops and potato puree as my main course, and the scallops were succulent and fresh. The dessert was the best part. The Pavlova (passionfruit & mango semi freddo +brown butter lime cake) was absolutely phenomenal. The combination of flavours and textures was absolutely divine! However, my partner expressed that his main dish: the lamb, was too small of a portion for what he paid. He ended up eating his dessert and some of mine because he was still hungry! Overall, we really enjoyed the sophisticated and fun atmosphere. "

Food was wonderful, service attentive but unobtrusive. I had made a reservation, but the restaurant was quiet and there was plenty of space. In previous visits it was much busier, perhaps it's that way in the evening or weekend brunch."

The chicken and waffles which again was super juicy yet crunchy on the outside. The french toast had a rice crispy crust with nutella and pecans. Nice one. Will be back for sure!"

  • "Food is not outstanding. I don't mind fusion dishes, however I find the menu doesn't sound very appetizing. Presentation is beautiful, the flavour of the food just doesn't cut it. Too many weird mixes that are not balanced very well. Ambiance is nice. Cramped space when full (waiters bumping into chairs) Convenient if you want to dance after dinner."

  • "I made dinner reservations for 9pm. When I arrived at 9:03 the front desk told me it would be 15 mins for my table to be ready. After 30 mins I had to follow up on the status of my table. It was just after 10pm that I got my table. Another 40 mins before our dinner came. There was acknowledgment or apologize. Menu should also have more appetizer choices. Very noisy in the restaurant."

  • "Having been here before I so looked forward to a special evening celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday, but both of us felt unwelcome and frankly offended by our server's attitude. Luckily he realized that we were unimpressed (or we were ordering a nice meal and bottle of wine) and defrosted a bit, but damage was done. If I ever do recommend Brassaii it will only be to friends who "fit the profile", which apparently we did not. Sad to say that was my last visit there."

  • "My boyfriend and I had been to Brassaii once before and loved the food, atmosphere and service. So much so that we had dined there for Valentines day this year. Brassaii has a variety of fine food choices that will appeal to anyone. Everything about Brassaii is great, especially their price point. Their Valentines day 4-course menu was a great way for me to try out the different selection of foods and was the right amount of food to keep me feeling full. I am a little foodie trying out the different restaurants in the city and I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone."

  • "We went for the last day of Winterlicious and had a fantastic time! The food was outstanding and so was the service. I have to make special mention of our server who graciously gave me a second helping of pasta when it was obvious that my portion looked like an appetizer next to my friend's giant lamb shank. All 3 courses were delicious. Thank you for making my experience memorable! We will definitely be back when the weather warms up to hang out on the patio."

  • "We were there for the Winterlicious experience and were very disappointed with the quality of the main dish, especially for a restuarant of this caliber. I had the filet of sole which was tasteless and hard due to the breaded exterior. The mussel was overly chewey which is a sign that it was overcooked. My app (crab toast) and my dessert (pastry) were both delicious. My husband had the pasta dish, the pasta was hard and lacked taste. He was unimpressed with his app as there were too many roasted walnuts which took away the flavour as the balance was lost with the savory proscuitto. For his dessert, the chocolate cake did not mix well with the pineapple. The service was excellent, that is why we tipped 18% in spite of the food."

  • "While the food was good enough, the cocktails were amazing. It took a while to come out but it was worth it. I find that I never expect great food when I go out so when I do go out, it's more for the ambiance. It's a nice place to go with friends or take a date. It was an extremely cold day and I did like the way they draped the doorway from the outside so that wind does not get in when the door is opened. The service was great, with a server even walking me to the washroom instead of pointing in the direction. It's small things like that that make the evening very enjoyable. When I go to an expensive restaurant, this is what should be expected. Otherwise, why don't I spend 1/10 of the money and go to Burger Priest for good food?"

  • "Had dinner for four at Brassaii. It came positively recommended by a few friends. Great service from start to end, good wine list. Two of us ordered off the menu and two stuck to the Winerlicious menu. Lobster appetizer was wonderful and the cheese plate at the end is a must."
