Diner Reviews
  • "The service as a little slow and it took a long time to get our meal."

  • "Main courses were very good and the drinks were inventive versions of old standards, although a bit on the small-pour side. The only issue was length of time from arrival to food on the table (35 min) which was mainly because our server appeared to also be the sole bartender."

  • "Dinner was utterly disappointing. At least 5 items from menu were not available, server showed up every half hour as it seemed she was bar tending while we were in far corner of restaurant. Food was average to mediocre and I usually love the food at branzino. Finally, ordered Moscow mules with house syrup for something a little different and was charged $11 each for a basic cocktail. Altogether, disappointing."

  • "We love this beautiful neighborhood restaurant for a nice dinner you can take your mother to. The food and service are exceptional. We LOVED the Burrata the chicken and gnocchi and of course their namesake, the Branzino. We've been 3 times and plan to go back again and again."

  • "Everything was great. The food, the service, the dining room. No complaints from us. We will be back."

  • "Open Table has the hours wrong, Branzino is not open for Sunday brunch, I had to come back later in the day for dinner. Besides that, the food was magnifico."

  • "I've brought friends and family a number of times and Branzino never fails to impress."

  • "We ate several of the small plates - all were tasty, and nicely presented. Wait staff was just right - attentive but not in the way. We'll go back for sure."

  • "This is our third dinner. As in the past the food was great, service very attentive with the server offering up a selection of wines to taste so we could make the right selection. That's a touch that keeps us coming back. The warm brad salad was excellent although was very light on the tuna. The pizza was wonderful. Now the gnocchi - it was simply one of the best I've had anywhere in the States and certainly rivals the best in Italy. Light, airy and just the right amount of cheese and sauce."

  • "Go with the menu's strengths-Branzino and the Short Rib Pappardella. Delicious."

  • "Im not sure what happened but this most recent experience was less impressive than ones I had in the past. The food was very bland and badly needed salt. I swear I remember the cheese platter having double the amount of cheese & fruit. Why only 3 pieces of bread to spread cheese on? Why not an even amount, knowing people are sharing? The cocktails were wonderful & servers very friendly. Would stop by for a quick drink, but food vs price, not worth it."

  • "My husband and I just love Branzino. The food is consistently delicious and the servers are knowledgeable, polite and welcoming. Love the wine list; we always try something new and haven't been disappointed yet. We highly recommend Branzino!"

  • "Love this little neighborhood find. The Happy Hour is AWEsome, the service for dinner or HH is always great, everyone is friendly and the food is outstanding. Highly recommend."

  • "Branzino is one of our favorite places to eat--the only downside is deciding which dish to order! When we were there last, I had the always-to-die-for pappardelle, with a beautifully seasoned gnocchi/cauliflower/corn appetizer that made me appreciate those flavors together in a completely new way. My husband's meal was equally good. Make sure to save room for dessert--we had the chocolate torte with the salted butterscotch drizzle on it. So, so good. But besides the consistently great food, the service and staff at Branzino really sets it apart from other Seattle restaurants. It's attentive without being cloying, one never feels rushed and they seem genuinely happy to have you as customers. In short, highly recommended."

  • "The service is very gracious. Everyone in our parth enjoyed their meal. The booth we sat in offerred a measure of privacy. the quietness let us have a conversation without shouting"

  • "this is by far one of the best dinner experiences my wife and I have had in ages. perfect on every level and we would recommend to anyone!"
    Dined on 7/20/2012
  • "The Branzino was very good. The remainder of the meal was average. Considering the cost and alternatives in Seattle, not that good of a value."

  • "Food was good. We had an antipasti sampler, greens salad, and gnocchi that we shared. All were well balanced and prepared. Service was a bit odd. The staff was fairly available since it is a small venue, but had to be prompted at different points. Asked for a drink order as soon as we sat, but never again (how can you pick a wine until you know what you're eating?). We ordered an appetizer, and the server dashed off before we could add drinks. We both laughed it was so surprising. Had to flag them down to add the drinks. Never came back to take the entree order until we were done with the starter. Plates did come out quickly though, so it was not a large problem, just something to know going in. Perhaps just too many tables per server."

  • "Wow! What great food. The Octopus was DELICIOUS!!! Great Manhattan!"

  • "Excellent food and cocktails. I would recommend requesting the two seats in front of the kitchen. Watch the chef and team cook your meal or sit at the bar or window seat."

  • "We had a great meal here and wanted to fall in love with the place. However the service was very nice but so so slow. They apologized for how slow they were - which was nice but my major irritation was that due to their slowness we had almost finished the bottle of wine we ordered for dinner by the time we were done with appetizers and salad (before our dinner was even served). I would have appreciated the waiter offerring a glass of wine on the house to have with our dinner. Regardless, we will try them again in the future and hope they have their staffing issues ironed out."

  • "Never disappoints. Menu and Service are great. We've been there as part of Seattle Food Tour, hosted a Business dinner and celebrated Mother's Day with kids and all were outstanding. The only problem is decid"

  • "We went on an evening when there was a prix fix menu featuring suckling pig served family style. There was a definite home cooking vibe. Food was well-prepared and ample in supply. I will need to return for the regular menu."

  • "It was a quiet Sunday evening; the wine by the glass was wonderful and the food was top notch! We enjoyed everything!"

  • "This is our second time to Branzino and we are more and more enchanted with this restaurant. The food in outstanding - i had the Pasta Bolognese which was one of the best i ever had. My husband had the pork dish which was very good too. The roasted salad was fantastic! the tiramisu dessert was OK - i personally didn't care for the choc chips inside it. They did a great job with the lighting of the place. Will definitely come back."

  • "My husband and I love Branzino. Great service (not too intrusive, but always there when you need them), wonderful food (do try the pappardelle and the blasted brussel sprouts--even if you think you don't like brussel sprouts), and a low-key but romantic atmosphere. We ideally would come here at least once a week if we could!"

  • "We had an enjoyable evening with the restaurant accommodating our two children well (the butter noodles dissapeared pretty quickly!). Nice atmosphere, and sound levels were reasonable so a conversation could be had. The food was good, although we had the scallops and the special of the day (halibut with mussels) and were surprised that the accompanying items were identical. It would have been nice to see a different side dish for the special. We had dessert, with a super rich chocolate torte and excellent hazelnut tiramisu. A nice take on Italian food, with some interesting ingredients (like fiddleheads)."

  • "As a night out for my wife and I, I had requested a nice romantic table. First we were early and they seated us at the bar so we could wait for the table they had selected for us. It was perfect. We could not have asked for a better evening. Thank you."

  • "Too pricey for what you are getting, in my opinion. However, it is a good setting in a good location and we enjoyed our time there."

  • "Branzino is my "go to" spot. Reliabble, warm and comfortable. A great place for Happy Hour with friends as their small "designer" pizzas are always amazing. But, dinner is also great -- without fail."

  • "Truly outstanding at this price point ($100/couple). The food was excellent Everything about the dining experience was managed with precision."
    Dined on 3/10/2012
  • "Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, they described and presented dishes as if they had created everything themselves. The pride of the restaurant was obvious and well deserved. When the wine we choose was unavailable, the host (owner?) came over and offered us a better choice at the same price. What made it special was his choice based on our meal, and the unpretentious easy he served the wine. Thanks to our server for a great evening, and for digging up two pignole cookies at the end of our dinner. They were the perfect amount of dolce after a memorable meal."

  • "We had the seared sea scallops, oysters, and duck confit pizza. The pizza was the standout of the bunch. Scallops were cooked, absolutely, perfect but the flavor missed just a little. The service was fast, friendly, and frequent. My water was filled twice w/o me knowing, that's a rarity. The service was, truly, impecable. Overall, a good meal with a couple glasses of wine and a satisfied feeling when we walked out into the night. We'll be back."

  • "We started with that night's risotto, a fantastic creation with pork belly, artichoke, and pistachio--this could have been dinner and we would be singing our praises. A beet salad followed, which was simple--blah by itself, but worked to refresh between courses. Then came a duck breast; the toughest duck I have ever eaten, part of which was inedible. It was served with a few stems of unrecognizable green that looked as though it had been immersed in a pot all day, and some potatoes that would've been yanked from a cafeteria steam table. The waiter did make an excellent suggestion of wine, but It was about this time that our waiter stopped showing an interest; I wonder if he was embarrassed by the entree?"
