This was my third time dining at Branzino's since moving to Philly two years ago. However in a city with so many great restaurants this may be my last. The food was not good Saturday night. I had the scallops and they were cold and slimy. One of my friends had Salmon which she couldn't eat either. We were having such a great time together despite our disappointing meals that we never bothered to go out of of our way to complain. We just stopped eating our dinner until our server asked how dinner was and we told her the truth. She brought the table a complimentary dessert but still charged us for the uneaten scallops and Salmon. Food quality just wasn't there that night.

I love an Italian restaurant that focuses on flavors and not just cheese and pasta. We had the arugula salad, salmon with artichokes and the scallops with parsnip purée. Everything was delicious. Because the meal was so wholesome, we had room for a guilt-free dessert, and opted for a chocolate hazelnut cake topped with hazelnut ice cream. Yum. Everything was delicious.

This neighborhood gem, can always be counted on for a fine meal. The service is excellent and the owner visited every table throughout the meal to make sure that we are enjoyed our dinners. My wife and I are particularly fond of the branzino and oso bucco. Being a BYOB is a real plus. If you've never been to Branzino's, you're missing out

I took some family and friends here for dinner one Friday night. We had an excellent meal; all four of us ordered different starters, main courses and shared 3 desserts. Food was excellent. Service was excellent too. A variety of servers attended our table so all was well. It was a bit noisy as the evening wore on, but an indication of happy customers. I live in NY and was visiting Philadelphia. A friend recommended it and I am going to give her a big thank you.

On the recommendation of friends four of us dined here on a busy Friday night and we were all very happy with our dining experience and food selections. The filleted Branzino was excellent as was the salmon. The service was very attentive, helpful and unobtrusive. When we arrived and were seated at a table in the back dining room we were unhappy with the noise level as there was a large party in the next room, the wait staff quickly seated us in at another table in another room and did this with a smile. As the dinner hour continued the noise level in this front, small room also made it challenging to have a conversation, which is our only negative.

We were two couples visiting from Detroit and Los Angeles. We enjoyed our dinner so much on Thursday night we returned on Sunday night to enjoy the excellent Branzino and the veal chop once again. The service was warm, friendly, and welcoming. We did not know the city and were thankful that the hotel had mentioned one needed to bring their own wine because they did not have a wine licence. We thought the prices more than fair (no corkage fee) and the food from the salad to the dessert was exceptional.

One of the rare BYOB's in Philly that also has an outdoor garden for dining. Their food is always realiably good. The decor is elegant and beautiful. This time, we were seated in the indoor front room, and the only problem was that the noise level was ridiculously high. It made for strained, shouted conversation. The food was good, however. Particular favorite dishes: grilled calamari, arugula salad, salmon, branzino, lamb shank, veal shank.

My dinner at Branzino was the setting for a reunion with an old, out of town friend and his student. I chose it in part for the location (close to Raddison/Warwick Hotel and the Curtis Institute), and the availability of vegetarian dishes (for my friend). The ambience was excellent on a weekday evening, with multiple choices for seating inside and in the garden. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The menu was very large with a number of specials. I had the branzino, which was fileted at tableside, most expertly, and the Caesar salad. My firned had a beet/lentel salad and a squash ravioli pasta, and the student a veal involtini. We were all delighted with the main courses and they had the pumpkin and hazelnut cake desserts.

What a gem! The outdoor dining at Branzino is quiet, romantic, leafy, and lovely -- you can't believe you're in the city. The food is excellent - try the grilled calamari, signature branzino, orecchiette with lamb sausage, carpaccio, gnocchi, risotto with wild mushrooms. My favorite Italian restaurant in Philly, and one of my favorite BYOBs!

The food at Branzino was decent, but it is totally overpriced and the portions are half of what you would normally get elsewhere. Big disappointment!!!! Also, the prices displayed in the online menu are not up to date and nowhere in that same website is an inbdication that the restaurant is BYOB

The garden dining area behind the restaurant made us feel that we were in Europe. Old brick walls and abundant lighting made a beautiful combination. I had the branzino, which was plated perfectly: it tasted delicious! My dining partner had the lamb shank, which was meltingly tender. The service was just right. I've already recommended this restaurant to friends.

We were lucky to visit Branzino on a gorgeous September evening, and enjoyed the evening in their lovely patio. We took our server's advice on what to order and were thrilled! Two appetizers, two main courses, two desserts: all exquisite! Especially memorable: the arugula salad (yes, memorable!), the branzino, the duck confit pasta (mouth-watering)!

The food was amazing, too bad each course was introduced and concluded with poor service and especially rude male manager. He explicitly instructed my table to eat quick, so they can over turn the table... even though the whole restaurant was empty, at the time and we already had reservations. To start off the waitress rudely told off a guest of mine, from out of town that it was a BYOB and thus of course don't have a wine list. Another one of my guest from out of town has a food allergy and the manager yelled at me saying that whatever is on the menu will ONLY be served. When I asked the waitress if I could have pasta w oil and chicken she wasn't sure if the kitchen served chicken. This was my 1st and last time at Branzino.

We chose this restaurant because of it's large restaurant-week menu and because it is a BYOB. I love to take advantage of a $35, 3 course meal without feeling like you paid full price because of the cost of drinks. This restaurant is truly deceiving in size, and character, as it is quite noisy (but joyful) and extends all the way to the back of the property. The food was absolutely INCREDIBLE and the portions were perfect- not too much, not too little and that melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant, and hopefully soon!

We had reservations for 6:30 PM, I told them two of us were there and waiting for the other two. I said we'd wait outside. Our other two drove up at 6:50 PM she got out and he went to look for a parking space. They sat the three of us gave us menus and didn't rush us or ask if we want to order until the other person came in all most 15 minutes later. They made us feel welcome even if all four were not there until 35 minutes late. Needless to say the food was wonderful as always.

We've been to this Northern Italian BYO several times but had never sat in the garden before. It's a lovely patio with trees, candles and soft music. I felt like I was in Italy. From now on I'm going to sit there -- even in the winter! The patio seats maybe fifty people. That space is a treasure, and it's in good repair -- no tripping in your heels walking over gouged cobblestones! The food for Restaurant Week: 1) about eight appetizers -- a tasty carpaccio, salads and seafood; 2) a long list of available entrees -- beef, veal, vegetarian, pork and chicken. I had chicken rolatini, which was very good, and the gnocchi was delicious; 3) three options for dessert. We had the tiramisu and the panna cotta, and they were both wonderful.

My husband & another couple went to Branzino for restaurant week. It was AWESOME. The fact that they offered almost their entire menu for restaurant week was a nice surprise. The portions were big, I was full after my mussels appetizer but had no problem polishing off the wonderful orecchiette pasta with rabbit sausage & my raspberry sorbet for dessert. The service was great too. Very friendly staff & even poured our BYO wine for us (many BYO's do not serve your wine). Overall, a real treat. We'll be back, restaurant week or not!

Our food from the restaurant week menu was great! But it seemed like the kitchen had trouble pacing. The group next to us received their dessert before their dinner had been cleared, but we were left waiting for ours for at least 15 minutes. We ate outside and the noise level was fine. But when exiting through the restaurant we noticed it seemed loud indoors.

Came here with our daughter and her 3 roommates for dinner during restaurant week. Everything about Branzino was wonderful. The food, atmosphere, selections, service were all fantastic. The only small complaint and what kept me from giving 5 stars were the portion sizes. My salad was quite small and the butternut squash ravioli entree, while excellent, was also small. Even after dessert and coffee (also excellent), I still found myself a bit hungry. Not sure if they adjust their portions for restaurant week? But again, everything about this restaurant was truly outstanding. And the outdoor courtyard is a huge bonus in nice weather.
