Our first course, which was a mushroom tart ( tiny but tasty) and a watermelon feta and mango salad, a huge portion,, was delicious .
there was a large group of men behind us who looked Ike they might have come from the golf tournament, but our server handled all with aplomb. The Faroe island salmon over smoked tomato risotto was the star of the show. Just a delicate smoky flavor and a hint of tomato set off the perfectly cooked salmon. With all the new and great restaurants around this was overlooked. Shame on me. The food was perfectly prepared and adequate portions, service was a little slow but OK. The selections are varied to accommodate anyone's taste.We will put this back on the rotation.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming BirthdayTraveled from Naples, Florida to visit Longwood Gardens, went to Open table to find a nice restaurant to celebrate our daughters birthday close to Longwood. Found the reviews online and decided it was the place to dine. We were very happy with our evening, our waiter Jerry was terrific and we all enjoyed a fantastic dinner which included fine wine, appetizers, superb salad, and each of us had remarkable steaks. Dessert was terrific and they took the time to wish our daughter a special Happy Birthday!
It was a wonderful evening and we were quite pleased, would definitely recommend to anyone for a fantastic dinner with friendly staff. The staff and atmosphere and food are certain to make the dining experience is everything you deserve on a night out. Whether I am stopping by the bar for a appetizer and drink or sitting down for a full meal, I have never been disappointed at Brandywine Prime. The Tuna Tartar app is one of the best I have ever had as well as the Grilled Romaine Salad. The wines selections are great. The menu is extensive and the chef puts good thought into the combinations he pairs. I would recommend this place for any occasion...a date, a good meal, or a solid burger. Again, the food and service were excellent. Three of us had steaks, and all were done to perfection. Serving sizes are generous but not too big. We all had desserts, which we did NOT have room for on our first visit. Good choice to skip appetizers in favor of desserts! The Chocolate Napoleon and Sticky Bun Bread Pudding were both excellent! The meal was wonderful, the service very professional and the owner making an appearance at our table was an extra treat. We were torn over what was more delicious, the steak (men's choice) or seafood (women's choice). We all agreed the dessert was amazing! We had a wonderful experience. It is an historic inn, with updated features including an enclosed wine room. Our waitress was gracious when one of our party changed their mind about their cocktail and ordered another drink instead. Kitchen staff was very accommodating when we made a request for some modifications to menu items. I appreciated that, in addition to the special buffet, they also offered their regular dinner menu, and didn't increase prices because of the holiday, as many restaurants do. Service was excellent, as were all the appetizers and entrees, especially the mushroom tart, short ribs, and shrimp with lobster risotto. Atmosphere is very nice. Our younger son was harder to satisfy off the menu though there were a couple other selections that would have worked for him he just did not like the way his food came. Very picky & Grumpy on that day specifically!!
Mom was very pleased and had a great meal and a very nice cocktail to get things started. The atmosphere was great - many rooms plus a cool bar area. Dinner was very good - I had the special salad of the evening - heirloom tomatoes and house made mozzarella - really tasty, and a perfectly cooked filet. My wife had the trout and really enjoyed it. The upstairs, private room was perfect for our business dinner. The ambiance in every part of the restaurant was great - you can almost feel the history in and around the building. The meal afforded the palette a wonderful expression of texture, flavor and presentation. The baby octopus salad was easily the most tender octopus I have ever enjoyed. The prime cut steak was tender and flavorful. The seasoning allowed the succulence of the steak to linger on the palette perfectly. The accompanying beans and lobster mashed potatoes added grace and elegance to dining experience. Ask to be seated at a table served by Micheal. I thought he would have known which would be transparent to making the reservations but apparently not! However, the atmosphere is nice and quaint. I ordered a ribeye steak which was great! My wife's meal was incredible too. We chose Brandywine Prime for a very important business dinner/meeting. The staff went out of their way to make this meeting a success. Two of our most important guest arrived late due to snow and terrible weather conditions in Massachusetts. They arrived without time to change attire and were under-dressed.
