A word from Bramble & Hare
Bramble & Hare, the original Farmhouse Kitchen and Pub, opened its doors in July 2012. Founded by Chef Eric Skokan and his wife, Jill, as the sister restaurant to their Black Cat Farm~Table~Bistro. It is named with two things in mind; their 1925 farmstead, Bramble Hill, and the artful agility and cleverness of the Paris cabaret, Lapin Agile, in Steve Martin’s play Picasso at Lapin Agile (agile rabbit.)

The huge variety of produce and meats grown on their farm allows Chef Skokan a limitless palate of flavors, colors, and textures from which to build his award-winning cuisine. The Black Cat/Bramble&Hare team also forages wild produce (like mushrooms, juniper and wild plums) that root the restaurants' cuisine in the flavors unique to the Front Range region.

B&H is open for summer happy hour from 5pm-6pm, dinner and late-night (6pm-2am, last call@1:30am) every day, featuring the wonderful farm produce and meats in a casual vintage atmosphere.

Diner Reviews
  • "Good food, good service, nice bar - both for cocktails and wine list which led to a very enjoyable evening. Great interaction with our server, allowing us to take our time, and enjoy the evening out. Definitely will come back again."

  • "After a long day of classes we found this tiny charming place to relax and unwind. Starting with a special drink and noshing on the small plates of deviled eggs, salmon belly on fresh greens and fingerling potato fries with mustard aoli- yum. Server and bartender very friendly and kind. Of course loved the fresh and locally sourced ingredients and quirky decor. Perfect ending to a long day."

  • "Food was bland and unimaginative. Dessert was the best course."
    Dined on 6/3/2014
  • "The bread pudding was dry and tasteless. The chicken portion was small."

  • "I wanted to like this place a lot more given the piano playing, speakeasy type atmosphere. it seems you are paying the exorbitant premium that farmers' markets charge. $8 for ONE deviled egg cut in half!!! Thimble sized pour of dessert wines, insulting! We ordered a lot of food so this review is not just for one lousy egg...I think we ordered every single small plate but the salad as well as an entrée (large plate)....you even have to ask for bread, ridiculous."

  • "Portions are small and priced pretty high for the amount you get, but the food is really tasty. I would have scored B&H higher, but the greens were gritty (at least you know they're straight from the farm) and were dressed with way too much salt. The dessert was lovely!"

  • "A lovely place to relax with friends or your true love Eat beautifully prepared local food and drink interesting concoctions"

  • "Contrary to other reviews, the service was very prompt although the server was a little detached-she wasn't very friendly until the very end. Limited menu choices, several small plates only a couple of which we were interested in, and then three entree choices and I believe three dessert choices. The desserts were very good. We enjoyed our meal here, but don't expect a lot of choices on the menu."

  • "This was our first visit. The food was wonderful (and I loved the amaro cocktail), but the service should have been better, especially since the restaurant was not busy during most of our meal. The piano player was talented, though the playing made the noise level a bit high for a small restaurant. We'll definitely visit again."

  • "A great meal that highlighted local produce, wine and meats. All of which were expertly prepared and presented. The deviled eggs were just one example of a simple dish made special with perfect execution of flavor and preparation. We were in Colorado for 10 days and dined out every night. This was the highlight of our trip. Can't wait to go back."

  • "A very interesting menu, attentive staff, comfortable seating and lighting, lively but not noisy ambience. Would highly recommend."

  • "My "review title" undoubtedly "dates" me, but it truly describes our dining experience at Bamble & Hare. We picked your restaurant as a going-away gift for a good friend who was moving away from our neighborhood -- and we were so very impressed. I can't say enough nice things about our B&H Experience. We'll definaely be back! We plan on recommending B&H to all our friends."

  • "I reviewed this restaurant saying how they did not have their dinner menu ready until 6:00 pm. I gave it another chance and was completely satisfied with the high end comfort food, service and ambience. I highly recommend Bramble and Hare."

  • "Went during restaurant week winter 2014. Great 3 course options to pick from. Always different as farm to table is. Had amazing app of pork belly/ ginger relish paired with great gin fiz variation with sarsaparilla. Their cocktails are great following same vein of black cat (sister company) next door. Entree was an amazing vegetarian English style pie. Great for food lovers and cocktail lovers."

  • "I can always rely on Bramble for great service and consistent food when entertaining important business guests. Griffin and team (apologies, I forget our other servers name) did an amazing job!!!"

  • "A great dinner at Bramble. I really love the ambiance at Bramble and Hare. Always came for the amazing cocktails but this time stayed for dinner. And glad I did. It was fabulous. Will definitely go back!!!"

  • "My friends and I do a monthly "dinner club". Each month my husband and I travel from Boulder to Denver to meet the group out in their city to try out fantastic restaurants. This month we finally did Boulder and I was so proud to have Bramble & Hare represent! We had a fantastic time in your restaurant. The food was outstanding, the setting was perfect (we were set in the large table and it felt as though we had our own apartment!), our server was incredibly welcoming and fun. Overall, we had a fantastic time and look forward to the next meal we have at Bramble & Hare!"

  • "My wife and I had dinner reservations for 5:15, but when we arrived we were informed that the kitchen was behind (it was the day after Valentine's Day) and that the dinner menu would not be available until 6:00. We couldn't wait that long for dinner because we had another engagement later that evening, so we just had several Happy Hour appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were very good. We plan on returning because the restaurant is charming and the food is likely very good, although we will make a later reservaion next time..."

  • "The food was very good, but I made the reservation at Bramble&Hare specifically based off their reasonable prices on the regular menu. There's no reason they should be able to raise their prices by a solid 50- 75% just because it's valentines day (without posting that set menu online so that people could know the difference). We could have gone to Flagstaff House for that amount of money (and flagstaff house would've been much better and not let a whole group of people stand right up against our table talking loudly for what is supposed to be a quiet dinner). Few options on the menu (only 1 option if you're a vegetarian), crazy crazy expensive, and disappointing service."

  • "We did enjoy our night out at the Bramble and Hare. I feel a little limited in appraising our evening out here as it was a fixed menu for Valentine's Day. I don't feel like we got experience the menu. The meal we had was good, the dessert was very good, and portioned very well, it was very tasty, not too much, not too little. We are planning on coming back when the full menu is available."

  • "Even for Boulder service (which is generally pretty bad) this place took it to the next level of bad service. The food was excellent, too bad the service ruined it."

  • "My favorite go-to place for late-night foodie food!"
    Dined on 1/23/2014
  • "This place is amazing!!! The food is out of this world...or maybe exactly the opposite...it is so good because so much of it comes form so close to Boulder. In response to reviews about the service...I found the service to be not "slow", but offered at a relaxed pace. I really enjoy this! Everyone is friendly, but not in a hurry. Rest assured, however, they are diligent and helpful. Thus, if you are the kind of person who is constantly in a hurry, or you have somewhere to be, save this gem for a time when you can just relax and savor the amazing food. To truly enjoy this place, just take yourself out of your American, fast-paced, on-demand mindset. Sit back and relax with some of the most delicious food available in town!!"

  • "If 'farm-to-table' means a very limited menu, Bramble & Hare hits the nail on the head. Perhaps because it is winter certain proteins and vegetables are in limited supply. The quality of the food was O.K., but far from exciting. Perhaps the summer fare offers a far wider variety. If you have a difficult time choosing among options, Bramble & Hare may be the place for you."

  • "My fiance and I chose this place through open table on the 29th of Dec hoping it would be ok...well it was better than ok for sure..it's a small place that serves up farm to table food in a very tasty fashion. We will definitely try this place again next year. There was also a song and piano man on hand taking requests. ..all and all a fun night was had by all...TY!!!"

  • "Nice little place with great food and decor. Has an open piano that some amazing artists came and played. Would definitely go back!"

  • "Enjoyed the restaurant. Had heard questionable things about the service in online reviews, and while not as bad as I'd feared it's a slow operation. Very limited menu for entrees, but the food was delicious."
    Dined on 12/16/2013
  • "We were so excited to check out Bramble and Hare but sadly our servers were almost absent and were rude. We had to continually ask for things like silver wear or napkins and they seemed put out when we asked to order food. When our dinners arrived they were cold and none of the food was exceptionally delicious. It's quite a cute little space, but sadly the service and the food were a let down."
    Dined on 11/22/2013
  • "We went to this restaurant hoping for cool new tastie treats given the local grower focus, but the food just wasn't that good, but was sure was pricey. We will try their other Boulder restaurant, Black Cat, before calling it quits."

  • "Visited for First Bite Boulder and can't wait to go again. My cocktail arrived after my appetizer, but everything was timed well otherwise."
    Dined on 11/21/2013
  • "My friends and I dined here during boulder first bite. We were really excited for the delicious-sounding menu, but then it came out. The beet salad was served on what appeared to be ageing iceberg lettuce. The second courses were all equally disappointing, and served with a side of very tough escarole. Dessert was good, but nothing to write home about. Service was very attentive at first, but then disappeared completely. Because we were a large group, the gratuity was included, which is understandable. What wasn't understandable was 21% for inattentive, slow service. We will not be back."
    Dined on 11/21/2013
  • "Bramble & Hare's relaxed, pubby atmosphere envelopes you as you sink into the cushioned banquette seats. Rustic tables, mismatched china and cutlery, low ceilings, and an upright piano make you think you've been transported to a small village road house somewhere in Europe. A profusion of hand crafted drink choices present themselves with curiously entertaining names. Particularly noteworthy was a rift on cider with applejack, rye, and a couple more liquid libations just for good measure, this concoction was a perfect blend for a crisp fall night. Our dinners were a melange of winter vegetables presented in flavorful creations. Desserts were impeccably surprising and sweetly satisfying. We will definitely be back for more!"
    Dined on 11/21/2013
  • "Menu items looked appealing, but: soup was cold, kale was tough, bread was absent. Dessert was the best part of the meal, but very slow in arriving. Slow service was because "we have a very teeny kitchen", according to our server. This was not a good value for the fixed price amount."
    Dined on 11/21/2013
  • "Food top-notch, as Chef and owner Eric Skoken spoils us with fresh produce from his garden, prepared to delight the palate. Something for everyone, and servings a proper size. Service a bit slow at first, but First Bite week is a bit crazy for restauranteurs, I'm sure. First time here, but won't be my last."

  • "This restaurant has everything going for it except a noisy atmosphere. It was nice having a conversation without having to shout. Service and staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was outstanding. Beer and wine selection was unique for a small restaurant. Definitely a winner!"

  • "Restaurant opened late and just unlocked the door rather than welcoming the groups of people outside waiting to come in (and clearly visible through the window). Service was very slow. Food was bland and portions were small. Staff was very friendly once we were inside, and the dessert was fabulous. We will likely not go back, however."
