A word from Bramble & Hare
Bramble & Hare, the original Farmhouse Kitchen and Pub, opened its doors in July 2012. Founded by Chef Eric Skokan and his wife, Jill, as the sister restaurant to their Black Cat Farm~Table~Bistro. It is named with two things in mind; their 1925 farmstead, Bramble Hill, and the artful agility and cleverness of the Paris cabaret, Lapin Agile, in Steve Martin’s play Picasso at Lapin Agile (agile rabbit.)

The huge variety of produce and meats grown on their farm allows Chef Skokan a limitless palate of flavors, colors, and textures from which to build his award-winning cuisine. The Black Cat/Bramble&Hare team also forages wild produce (like mushrooms, juniper and wild plums) that root the restaurants' cuisine in the flavors unique to the Front Range region.

B&H is open for summer happy hour from 5pm-6pm, dinner and late-night (6pm-2am, last call@1:30am) every day, featuring the wonderful farm produce and meats in a casual vintage atmosphere.

Wow. This was one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while! The service was top notch, the food was to die for (very fresh and flavorful farm to table), and I chose the "bartender's choice" option for a cocktail and ended up having one of the best cocktails I have ever had. The ambiance is also very nice, very relaxed but romantic at the same time. I will be spreading the word about this place and coming back very very soon!

We had high expectations because we have enjoyed the chefs previous work at other restaurants and we have had good experiences with the sister restraint so we were somewhat disappointed with the limited and bland experience. 6 of us each ordered something different, which was almost everything on the menu that night. Several of the meals, although I am sure were very health and good for you were best described as bland and uninteresting. The pureed carrots were surprisingly bland and truly did remind everyone at the table of tasting Gerber's baby food. Unfortunately the carrots were paired with a chicken that matched the same level and left the owner of that plate eating off of everyone else's plate. Other plates were somewhat better.

We visited Bramble and Hare for the first time during restaurant week. Every dish we tried was exceptionally good -- a beet salad far better than most, a pork ragu, two different desserts. Evidently a similar menu at a similar price is always available. B&H is related to The Black Cat, aiming to be a more moderately priced option. It obviously attracts a younger crowd but was quieter than most restaurants we have been to lately. It has a wide choice of craft beers and wines and also aims to function as a pub. Those prices will increase your bill substantially.

Bartender was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The salad had a vinaigrette that was quite tasteless but the cured trout bruschetta was spot on. Service was mechanically very good but lacking in personality. Silver was marked appropriately and quickly, but our server never asked how we were enjoying anything. Would stop back in when I am in Boulder as the ambiance was beautiful!

We celebrated a birthday dinner at B&H over the August 8 weekend. The restaurant prides itself on farm-to-table freshness (they say much of the food comes from two local farms and some of the veggies were harvested that day)- can't beat that. The menu is unique in that you can choose from several a la carte items, sort of like tapas (Mostly $7-$9 each), or a three course meal (salad, entrée, dessert) for $29. Broad selection- from mac & cheese to beet salad and lots in between. As a meat-and-potatoes guy, I had trouble finding something I was interested in. My wife and her friend loved the selection of fresh salads, cheeses, fruits. The food turned out to be really special. All of the plates were gorgeous and the tasted terrific.

My wife and I only visit Boulder once a year these days, but we are aware of the stiff restaurant competition there. Our friends suggested Bramble & Hare as a place to get a well-made cocktail, so we were expecting a tasty libation. We were not disappointed; great Manhattan type drinks. Our waitress was exactly the right amount of helpful and yet relaxed, and took the time to explain the source of their ingredients and make some recommendations. My wife had beet gazpacho, which to me sounded terrible but turned out to be delicious. I had a tomato/walnut/vinaigrette salad that was great. We had pork/polenta and gnocchi/beef for our dinners, both were simple, delicious and hearty. Refreshing and reasonably priced surprise right downtown.

After a long day of classes we found this tiny charming place to relax and unwind. Starting with a special drink and noshing on the small plates of deviled eggs, salmon belly on fresh greens and fingerling potato fries with mustard aoli- yum. Server and bartender very friendly and kind. Of course loved the fresh and locally sourced ingredients and quirky decor. Perfect ending to a long day.

I wanted to like this place a lot more given the piano playing, speakeasy type atmosphere. it seems you are paying the exorbitant premium that farmers' markets charge. $8 for ONE deviled egg cut in half!!! Thimble sized pour of dessert wines, insulting! We ordered a lot of food so this review is not just for one lousy egg...I think we ordered every single small plate but the salad as well as an entrée (large plate)....you even have to ask for bread, ridiculous.

Portions are small and priced pretty high for the amount you get, but the food is really tasty. I would have scored B&H higher, but the greens were gritty (at least you know they're straight from the farm) and were dressed with way too much salt. The dessert was lovely!

Contrary to other reviews, the service was very prompt although the server was a little detached-she wasn't very friendly until the very end. Limited menu choices, several small plates only a couple of which we were interested in, and then three entree choices and I believe three dessert choices. The desserts were very good. We enjoyed our meal here, but don't expect a lot of choices on the menu.

This was our first visit. The food was wonderful (and I loved the amaro cocktail), but the service should have been better, especially since the restaurant was not busy during most of our meal. The piano player was talented, though the playing made the noise level a bit high for a small restaurant. We'll definitely visit again.

Went during restaurant week winter 2014. Great 3 course options to pick from. Always different as farm to table is. Had amazing app of pork belly/ ginger relish paired with great gin fiz variation with sarsaparilla. Their cocktails are great following same vein of black cat (sister company) next door. Entree was an amazing vegetarian English style pie. Great for food lovers and cocktail lovers.

My friends and I do a monthly "dinner club". Each month my husband and I travel from Boulder to Denver to meet the group out in their city to try out fantastic restaurants. This month we finally did Boulder and I was so proud to have Bramble & Hare represent! We had a fantastic time in your restaurant. The food was outstanding, the setting was perfect (we were set in the large table and it felt as though we had our own apartment!), our server was incredibly welcoming and fun. Overall, we had a fantastic time and look forward to the next meal we have at Bramble & Hare!

My wife and I had dinner reservations for 5:15, but when we arrived we were informed that the kitchen was behind (it was the day after Valentine's Day) and that the dinner menu would not be available until 6:00. We couldn't wait that long for dinner because we had another engagement later that evening, so we just had several Happy Hour appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were very good. We plan on returning because the restaurant is charming and the food is likely very good, although we will make a later reservaion next time...

    Dined on 2/14/2014
The food was very good, but I made the reservation at Bramble&Hare specifically based off their reasonable prices on the regular menu. There's no reason they should be able to raise their prices by a solid 50- 75% just because it's valentines day (without posting that set menu online so that people could know the difference). We could have gone to Flagstaff House for that amount of money (and flagstaff house would've been much better and not let a whole group of people stand right up against our table talking loudly for what is supposed to be a quiet dinner). Few options on the menu (only 1 option if you're a vegetarian), crazy crazy expensive, and disappointing service.

We did enjoy our night out at the Bramble and Hare. I feel a little limited in appraising our evening out here as it was a fixed menu for Valentine's Day. I don't feel like we got experience the menu. The meal we had was good, the dessert was very good, and portioned very well, it was very tasty, not too much, not too little. We are planning on coming back when the full menu is available.
