  • What happened to the Buffet?

We have eaten at Brady's for decades and it was always a full buffet. So I made reservations for a sunday night for family of 8 for a pre-Thanksgiving feast. When we got there, I was totally surprised that my Thanksgiving feast has to be BBQ. What a downer. However James gave us excellent service.

OUr table was ready early, by window as requested, SO impressed that my very first live Swath boat was docked within, but not blocking, view! (Learned later, on Sam Houston port cruise boat, that it was the largest ever built! The meat slicer knew what it was, but waitress did not - why not educate staff better as folks come to Brady's Landing due to ship channel interest!) Two of our group of four were vegans, so it would have been nice to have a little more choice for them but they were satisfied.

We had not been there for several years. I wondered if it would look a little weathered. I took a couple who had not been there. We were all pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked. The food was as I remembered--plentiful and delicious. The weaitstaff could not have been more attentive and smiling. I can't wait to go back

Overall decline in quality of this restaurant. It used to be a classy place to eat. What happened to the dress code? Can't management say flip flops, shorts, and tank tops are not appropriate attire? It's not supposed to be the atmosphere of McDonald's! Also, the food choices, while abundant, seemed less varied this trip and food quality did not match the price for the brunch buffet.

This was my wife and I first time there and I wanted something special for our 31st. wedding anniversary and it was an awesome experience. She was blown away by all the service and and the quite atmosphere. Linda called back to affirm my reservation. Everyone was nice and courteous. Some staff came by and wished us a happy anniversary. I had dropped off a gift the day before and left instruction to the staff to bring out when I ordered the special dessert and boy did they deliver. My wife was overwhelmed by it she started crying. Our table attendant Dean he was super. He had great timing and was very attentive. Thank you for making our evening special.

It was a wonderful experience and will definitely return for special occassions. We were actually there for almost 4 hours and there was nobody making us feel uncomfortable to leave etc. Note that we would not have done this had there been no open tables and we did ask and they said OK.

We went on a weeknight, so I don't know how it is at busy times, but it was great. Hardly anyone there. They had a huge buffet, or you could order off the menu. Great service. The restaurant was beautiful, right on the ship channel water. While eating a large cargo ship as being turned around in front of our view w/ the tug boats, you could watch it go under the brige, too. They have a beautiful ballroom that faces the water too, not that we needed that, but went and looked at it, great to remember if we ever need one.

Sadly, this restaurant's best days are behind it. At Sunday brunch we found an extremely large number of items, all of which were edible but none of which were memorable. Just a few examples: the sauce on the enchiladas was dried and caked in, the fish drowned in a sauce that tasted just like bottled Italian dressing, several looked and tasted just like those in a grocery store bakery. Our favorite dish was the fried shrimp and the bottomless mimosas were nice, but foodies will be very disappointed here. Add in faded and threadbare carpets and you walk away feeling sad rather than satisfied. This was a beautiful place once, but it's just old and overpriced today. A shame.

Had a magnificent brunch. Lisa and Champ took great care of us. This was our first time here so Lisa took the time to walk us through all 100+ items on the buffet. We gorged on Prime rib, 3kinds of crab legs and peel and eat shrimp. When I asked her why they didn't have carrot cake(my favorite) Lisa disappeared to the back and returned a few minutes later with TWO slices! Great coffee. Bottomless mimosas and champagne...What more could you want?

This used to be my favorite spot for Sunday brunch, however, after my visit on Father's Day, I intend on finding another place. The lobster was grilled to shoe leather, crab legs were served frozen, eggs Benedict were hard-boiled with stiff Hollandaise sauce, only one type of fish and it was mediocre, tough prime rib (more like a bad roast beef). In brief, all the cheap champagne and oj does not make up for bad food. A hundred bucks for two (with proper tip) should buy some real quality.

We went for Father's Day for the first time. It's a little hole-in-the-wall, but no big deal. We made a 12:30 reservation and upon arrival was told they didn't have a table for at least 20 mins (it was 30 mins actually). They had a lot of big tables was their excuse. Then the hostess rushed her way to our table and left my husband and infants in their stroller stranded on top of the staircase. I had to run to catch her and ask her for a ramp. She kept ignoring me and wanted to know the ages of my children. They put us next to a tray stacked with used dishes and linen. The place was dark and old. Floors sticky. Long lines for lobster that was worth it. A/C was broken in the room where the lines were the longest. Food was alright.

The service was horrible during Father's Day. We had to literally flag down the waiter to request refills on our drinks or on things we needed. He hardly checked up on us, and then we were charged 18% gratuity on our check for HORRIBLE SERVICE?! That was absolutely RIDICULOUS! In addition, the food was cold and dry. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone, nor will I attend ever again with family or friends.

We have been eating at Brady's Landing for years and years and each time over the last 3-4 years it has declined. For Father's Day brunch we were charged almost double what the normal fee is and no where on the website or at Brady's Landing did it say $40 per person. The food was mediocre, all meat was overcooked, and the lines for the made-to-order foods were terribly long. Service was great until time for our check, sat at table after we finished eating for 14 minutes (and two requests to find our waiter) before we received our check. Dessert and salmon were good. Not worth $40 or even the normal $25.

We went to this resturaunt a year ago and it was incredible! This time it was a special occasion for my dad and we were highly disappointed. The food was just not the same, almost like they had a different cook or owner? The crab legs were watery mush and inedible, the eggs benedict that we raved about last year was also terrible! It seemed like they were understaffed also. There was one person running all the stations which meant I just had to get something else, then come back because the wait. We also had a party of eight and they sat us at two round tables which made it a little awkward. Overall we all decided we might not come back for the price the quality was just not there. We drive an hour to come here and it just wasn't worth it.

The food was excellent - a wide variety to appeal to each person in our party from a 70 year old grandpa to the 2 year old toddler and everybody in between. A wonderful spread with so many options from crab legs, made-to-order omelets and crepes, a carving station, fruit, salads...the list could go on and on. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful - asking if there was anything we would like to eat that wasn't already included in the buffet (we tried, but couldn't think of anything!) It had been years since some of us had been to Brady's and were pleasantly surprised to have such a good experience - we will definitely be coming back soon for the next family celebration.
