We offer our guests a relaxed, yet formal dining experience, with a focus on Belgian cuisine with American inspiration. Choose from our Seven Course Tasting menu to fully realize Chef's vision, or enjoy selections from our a la carte menu. You’ll know you’re in a chef’s restaurant as the servers speak confidently about the menu. Many ingredients are sourced from local farmers, highlighting the bounty of the region. We feature an extensive list of small production, approachable wines from around the world, curated by Sommelier Matthew Carroll.

We accept Opentable reservations for up to 10 guests, Sunday through Thursday, and up to 7 guests on Friday and Saturday. If you would like to book a larger group than we offer on Opentable, please call Matty Fanning at 703.894.3440 to discuss options for up to 14 guests. We'll be happy to work with you to provide a special menu and experience for your larger gathering!

  • "On Sun eve, the comp glass of champagne for anniversary was nice touch. Tasting menu is an exc value at $55 but an alternative choice to lamb would be more guest-friendly. In total we had 6 courses...all but one was underseasoned. The salmon crudo was laughingly tiny - I've had amuse bouche that was bigger. The cod, halibut and gnudi were just outstanding. The lamb rack was very small thus hard to eat, - cooked perfectly but it had no flavor. The chocolate creme brulee was superb. The service was professional but the waiters and floor managers looked rumpled. The ambiance is sleek but pretty blah with all the beige tones. The low ceiling felt claustrophobic. Overall, Brabo just doesn't quite reach the mark for this food writer."

Both my starter and entree' were excellent and in just the right proportions. Dessert superb. My wife had two starters, one was her entree' and that was perfect... A very excellent dining experience.   • "The adjacent tasting room, by the same alleged chef, is more moderately priced and infinitely more palatable. The star ratings do not do justice to the lacking quality of preparation and food in general. The swordfish is rubbery and really doesn't taste like swordfish. Coming from the New England area, fish of this preparation wouldn't make it far. Pricey and simply not a good value!"

  • "Brabo's menu offerings are superb; from chef's tasting menu to a la carte. Thoughtful and delicious food is worth the price point at Brabo (every dish was outstanding). Beer and wines (by glass) were priced to the Alexandria market, but I found the wine bottle list limiting for the mid-level wine drinker (me). Upon seating, we waited 10+ minutes before menus and water; disappointing. Service that followed was very good and prompt, so menu/water issue was a blip. I could tell immediately when our server identified that we were a low-ticket ($) table. This did not impact the quality of the functional service, but he essentially disappeared. I will definitely return for more delicious food and very good service! Bravo Brabo!"

  • "We took our pre-teen foodie daughter here for her birthday dinner. The food and service was amazing. There was a good selection of meat and seafood dishes and Hassan, our server, was a delight with our daughter, who has a very sophisticated palate. He took the time to explain the menu. I ordered the Halibut and Risotto, very flavorful, my family ordered the rack of lamb and steak dishes, all very delicious as well. The dessert choices were fun. We had reservations on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was busy with many patrons. The birthday girl and her family were very pleased. I highly recommend Brabo."

But when we arrived, they took off 2 items and said they were for "taster menu only". Too bad, disappointing.   • "could not have asked for a better evening. from the moment we sat down, everything was great. we were not rushed, allowed to chat and have cocktails without being forced to order. waiter was knowledgeable and helpful and worked with us to ensure evening was ours. we did the tasting menu w/ wine pairing and though skeptical of some of the wine choices, was quickly disabused of those thoughts upon tasting. black cod was the best i have ever had, and i have eaten it many times."

  • "Be warned. IF you sit in the blue chairs at most of the tables you will find yourself feeling like a child. I am 6'2" and the blue chair is sooo low that the table is chest high. What were they thinking? The food was always been excellent, we have dine at BRABO an number of times but frankly this is mostly a restaurant (from my observation) where people want to talk and it's simply to loud. Honesty, keep the staff, keep the chefs but completely gut the space and come up with something better. I did recommend special occasion (because of the food) and romantic, but I did that with hesitation since it can be challenging to carry on a conversation."

  • "Went with the Restaurant Week menu. First, an outstanding salad of fresh greens with bacon vinaigrette topped with a poached egg. For mains, I had skate with ratatouille, and partner had hangar steak with 3 sauces. both were very satisfying--nice portion, well prepared. (Nice to see skate on a menu.) For dessert, we both had the Belgian waffle with berries. Great finish to a delicious meal. Service was perfect. Dining room is inviting, with polished wood floors, comfortable chairs, not too loud. We will definitely be back."

We've tried other high end restaurants during RW and have been disappointed. Brabo was AMAZING. The choices available for each course were wonderful, the staff was exceptional, and the meal was an impossible deal for the price. Truly a perfect dining experience. And I must say, the lemon poppy Belgian waffle dessert was hands down the best dessert I've ever had, anywhere."

  • "BRABO is one of those places to take someone special to. Our in my case, to try out at Restaurant Week! The service was great, the server was attentive and suggested great wine selections. Vichoyssoice with potato chips was velvety with a great crunch. Perfect appetizer! Next was the steak fries that was served with a side salad. The portion was off as it was a full portion not a small one as found in other places for Restaurant Week. However, the meat was cooked perfectly to medium with a light brown sauce, and an abundance of matchstick fries. The dessert was good as well, a milk chocolate creme broiled. Overall, a very good pick!"

The soup was particularly flavorful; the hanger steak was well-prepared and tasty; the lamb was tender and cooked to medium rare as ordered. The server remembered that one of us could not eat refined sugar and offered an ample serving of mixed berries for dessert (very thoughtful). It was a most pleasant evening, reminiscent of our other outings at Weidermaier's restaurants. Thank you!"

  • "Went to BRABO for Restaurant Week. My friend ordered off the Restaurant Week menu, I had the regular menu. I had greek goddess salad, salmon with tomato water, and parfair for dessert. It was all very good. The salmon dish didn't have a whole lot of flavor but I felt it was healthy choice, the water said it was their take on light summer fare. The parfait was so good I wanted to take another one home. Nice restaurant with space between tables, which I like -- not too crowded dining area. Friendly waiters. So, will go back again, I wasn't disappointed at all."
