  • "I'd been several times for lunch but this was my first time for dinner. The food was stunning, the wine was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The theme is tapas, spanish small plates, but they also have larger plates and paellas which are meant to be shared as well. We had romanesco, salted codfish, and porkbelly tapas, all of which were exceptionally flavorful and just big enough for everyone to have a bite. We shared a seafood paella, one of three paellas offered, it was also very good. The paellas come in 2 sizes, the smaller size was appreciated after the tapas. We shared a bottle of Tempranillo that was a perfect pairing to the meal. This is one of the best restaurants in North Hollywood in my opinion. We'll be back!!!"

  • "The lamb and fish tacos were terrific as was the salmon main course. Paella was skimpy on the fish and the rice was grade2/4 spicy but somewhat dry. Ceviche was also very good with Fried Avacado!"

  • "New menu is not as good. Pork tacos was the best item we had. Haddock tacos was great the last time I had it -- fish was nice and crispy. This time, it was soggy, like it was fried some time ago and sat before it was served. Yuck. Bacon wrapped shrimp is not really shrimp -- it's more like a shrimp cake, which is good, but it's not shrimp. Ceviche was WAY too much citrus and not enough other flavors. Mary's chicken was just one chicken breast that was pan roasted, over greens and small roasted potatoes and some kind of sauce. Everything was over-salted, and the chicken was overcooked. A nice place to get a drink and the pork tacos."

  • "Apparently, there have been significant changes at Bow & Truss over the past couple of months. New "kitchen", new menu, new management. The good news is, the food is still very good--the bad news is, a couple of favorites disappeared (octopus salad & shrimp with polenta). The best news is that the paella (although also different) is still excellent. Service on the patio was a bit spotty--we never got a refill on water for example. As always, staff was friendly."

Paella was too spicy, but no indication of spiciness on the menu. We had to ask another server for water not only because it was so spicy, but also bc our server disappeared for a while."

  • "We've been to Bow & Truss several times now, and each meal has been delicious. The menu seems ever-changing, so there's no telling what's going to be on offer from one visit to the next but it's been tasty every time. My favorites have included the Beet Salad, the Ceviche, the Cheese Plate (Blue Picon is my new all-time favorite cheese!), and you can't go wrong with any of their Paellas. The desserts are also noteworthy, particularly on our most recent visit: the three of us shared the Milk & Cookies and the Turon - don't let the simplicity of the names fool you, these were molecular gastronomy at its best! The service is unfailingly friendly, and the later-than-usual hours convenient. We always look forward to our meals at Bow & Truss!"

  • "We have been to Bow and Truss on numerous occasions but haven't been in a few months. This past weekend we took a group of friends to brag about our favorite spot. We noticed that the menu changed and when we asked our server, she mentioned that a new chef had taken over in the past two weeks. Our favorite food item had been the mushroom tacos which were still on the menu but the recipe had been changed and not for the better. My friend ordered the fillet tacos and sent them back because they were cold, twice. We wanted to order the meat and cheese plate but discovered that now they were separate plates. We decided to go ahead and just order the cheese plate which was piled with pieces of bread and very little cheese."

  • "I was upset that even although it was cold outside the restaurant did not have seating inside. Both main courses were not served together!!! The server should have recommended an appetizer with drinks. When I spoke to one of the hosts about having a party his reply was well you know weekends are busy!!!   • "I sat down by myself for brunch, around 1:15 pm. Quickly ordered a salad and some hot tea. Tea came out immediately. The salad? The took 40 minutes and several attempts at me trying to get the bartender to locate my salad. That's just plain bad service. I was embarrassed for them. Not sure I'll be returning."

  • "We had been waiting to try Bow and Truss for a long time. But, I have to say, we were sadly disappointed. The waitress was very nice and pleasant, and she recommended items on the menu. However, she was making these recommendations based on the availability of certain dishes. When my husband went to order the shrimp tacos, the waitress said they were out. When I went to order the Pozole, it, too, was sold out. Because we wanted to sample EVERY Spanish cheese offered, we ordered the Cheese and Charcuterie plate plus the five cheese plate to ensure that we would get to sample everything offered. This wasn't communicated to the kitchen, and we were given double manchego cheese and they were out of one of the cheeses. Very disappointed."

  • "The inflexibility of the chef is a major deal breaker. Let's keep in mind that this is North Hollywood and the whole vibe and appearance of the place would indicate a neighbourhood bar/restaurant with a relaxed and comfortable vibe. I won't return to Bow and Truss, nor will I recommend it. The food and wine list are both lovely, but when you ask if you can omit or add something to a dish that I'm assuming is NOT made ahead and you're answered with a very stern and unyielding "NO", you just don't want to come back...especially when there's Black Market and so many other fine restaurants that are more flexible and friendly."

It was quieter than usual, but as always it's a great place for decent food and an age appropriate bar scene. Also, although they were supposed to be out of the secret cheesecake, our waitress found a slice and it made our night."

Our server was friendly and very helpful at explaining the menu. He was just great! Our food was really good. I had the waffle stuffed with chorizo which was awesome and my sister had chilaquiles which were pretty good too! We loved it, we're definitely coming here again!"

  • "The is the second time dining here. First time was dinner, this time lunch. Two different menus, so you will never run out of choices. The food we ordered off the dinner menu was delicious, albeit very spicy. We had an assortment of tacos and a paella dish, which was also spicy, but very flavorful. The luncheon menu has some very interesting waffle dishes and egg dishes. The waffle with chorizo and spiced maple syrup was outstanding (again spicy) and the hash was awesome. If you love different flavors, nice portions (all shareable) and a very cool atmosphere, this place is for you. I will be back again."

  • "Heavily seasoned small plates of food. A wide variety of variety of hardly edible stuff. But they give you a lot of it. Unless you are a hipster who thinks sh*t is ice cream, skip this place for dining. On the other hand, the bar is good, drinks are heavily poured and mixology is creative. Have a drink here and go down the street to eat."

  • "I ordered shrimp ceviche. What I was served was a bowl of cut up mango with some cilantro and one and one-half small shrimp. For 9 or 10 dollars. False advertising. Big rip off. If I had not been on a business lunch, I would have refused to pay. Now I doubt I will return. Too bad cause the neighborhood could use a nice restaurant. But do you guys ever wonder why there are lines to get into Eat and your restaurant is wide open? Something to think about Zbow and Truss."

  • "Upon check-in the hostess asked if we wanted to dine inside or out. We said inside. She took us inside and said there was a glitch with their system at that a table inside she thought was free was not. There were 3 to 4 open tables inside. I mentioned that we made reservations and she said that we should have requested inside seating. She turned this into being my fault for not requesting inside seating. I read about many complaints regarding inconsistencies in the food. The menu looked interesting enough to try. That said the attitude of the staff was more on the side of being at a hot and trendy restaurant that is is NoHo. I will not go back and would not recommend this place. Your better off trying one of a dozen nearby restaurants"
