WE had the Bourbon Steak for two, Beet Salad, creamed spinach and Broccoli. Everything was greasy with butter, cream or both. Even the salad was small bits of beet in a cream cheesish glop. It made me nauseous

Our steaks were perfect. Our sides were perfect. Loved the Black Truffle Mac n' Cheese. And the root beer float was fun and delicious. The prices are so high. But the food and the experience actually live up to the incredible prices. Once or twice a year, I'll be back!

it is a steakhouse inside a 4-star hotel, sharing an upper level store in the lobby. ambience looks romantic but it is too noisy to actually be. the menu has options than I would have expected (and compared against Morton's or Ruth's), especially regarding the meat's cuts/parts. food quality is good but outstanding service is professional but lacks of friendly approach/suggestions. price is high, just a bit less than other well-know places, also due to high recharges over wine. in a nutshell, a good place to go but without top expectations.

Excellent attention to detail, great food, perfect location. A new favorite. Celebrated our wedding anniversary, a special table was set aside, a card signed by the staff on the table. The waitress remembered to congratulate us our the actual years being married. Food was great, steaks terrific. The sommalier recommended a 2008 Neal Cabernet from Napa Valley that was excellent and under $100. I really felt spoiled at this restaurant, a little pricey but for a special occasion why not?! Look forward now to trying other Michael Mina restaurants!

You won't be disappointed! This restaurant delivers a terrific evening. Our celebration was perfectly complemented with mouth-watering steaks (snake river rib cap, 18 oz bone-in ribeye) and several fresh crudos to begin. Staff were all professional and engaged. Big ticket meal but we will very likely do it again!! Their new exec chef is bringing it🍷 Bravo!!

Never a disappointment. The steaks are well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The scallops are fresh tasting and again perfectly cooked. As I have eaten the scallops here many times before, my only negative comment is sometimes the scallops are a bit too salty. Service is flawless and very welcoming.

I'll start off with the good... the French fries! Unfortunately it ends there. Absolutely nothing else had any type of wow factor. The 10oz sirloin was slightly overlooked, dry, and had little flavor. The ceviche was so-so. The dumpling / dim sum was edible. The mushroom side dish was not. Our server was flat, emotionless and absolutely unpleasant. I have never had such a poor server bring me a $200 bill (2 people).

Our party of four enjoyed a promptly served cocktail before being seated. We enjoyed the filet, bone-in ribeye perfectly cooked to preferences. The lobster served tableside was the most creative prep I have ever seen, as well as being delicious. The large wedge salad was graciously divided for two. The sommelier helpful, not snobby. Kudos to wait staff, don't know what they could improve.

My husband and I enjoyed a great dinner at Bourbon Steak! We started out with their famous fries and sauces and it was really good!! I had the tuna tartar appetizer and it was the best I have ever had! My husband had the bib salad and it was also great! He got a big bone in Ribeye and I ordered Lobster so we could have surf and turf! The steak was cooked to perfection and was very flavorful!! The lobster was also delicious and it was the perfect amount for both of us to share!! We ordered a side of spinach. I can't say it was the best I have had but was good. The waiter brought us truffle macaroni which we did not order but it was awesome!! my husband ordered the beignets and he loved them!

While the atmosphere is nice, 30 feet ceilings in a beautiful old hotel, everything is over priced. The service was leisurely. After an hour, we had been served one drink and an appetizer. The food was good, but it should be spectacular given the prices. I gave it 3 stars because the value just isn't there.

We had a fantastic dinner there. There service was extremely good, particularly from our Sommelier. He recommended a great Pinot Noir, but also served us well throughout the evening. Our server was a little less attentive. (i.e., we had to ask for the "famous" fries and sauces, as halfway through the meal we had not received them). But overall service was very good, and the meal was superb. We shared kumamoto oysters, then each had a salad. I had the steak tartare, which is in appetizer, for my main course. My husband enjoyed his flank steak. We shared the mac n' cheese with truffles, which was the perfect side dish for our meat dishes. Dessert was overkill...we had the beignets which were delicious, but way too rich after our meal.

The food (especially the french fires) was outstanding. I had the rib cap, my wife had a filet. Both very pricey but great for a special occasion. The service was not great. The waitress spoke very softly and was hard to hear or make out what she was talking about. The food made up for the service. Didn't hurt that Roger Craig, Eddie D. and Tyler Florence were having dinner a few tables over.

The reviews I had read had been mixed but my husband and I decided to try it anyway . The complimentary trio of fries with accompanying sauces was fantastic ! I then had a beet salad ( light and yummy ) followed by a very tender and flavorful filet . I could have omitted the baked potato after so many fries and just proceeded on to the delicious dessert beignets ! Courteous service in a lively atmosphere !

I had recently moved to the city and was looking for a steakhouse that served good food, good cocktails had a good ambience, didn't just serve $150 cuts of meat, and with exceptional service. My experience at Bourbon Steak was lower than expectations based on purely name recognition and the cost of my meal. The space was not high end at all. With the right serving dishes and light it could be setting for a buffet breakfast at a mid range motel in suburbs. The service was very uninspiring. Great restaurants have a good timing on when servers show up. This one didn't. Cocktails were just okay. I will say some of the food was good. My steak was great but my wife's was raw. I wouldn't go back and will try some place else.

With Michael Mina's name at the forefront my expectations were high. While service was excellent, food offerings were a disappointment. NY steaks were cut thin and short ribs were so fatty they were difficult to enjoy. Location can't be beat but bring your wallet - you'll pay for the ambiance.

We are local residents and have previously enjoyed many meals at Bourbon Steak, as it is often our choice for dinner or cocktails before the theater. However this past Saturday at (5:30) the service was sluggish, impersonal and, from the maitre'd, almost rude. To a party of 6 friends who were looking forward to a night out with dinner and a play, the inattentiveness of the staff put damper on our evening. The food was good, but of course, there are many fine restaurants in San Francisco. Disappointed.

Over priced food. I felt a lot of the dishes were too pretentious. Steaks were excellent and perfectly cooked. French onion soup was terrible with a ridiculous presentation which my waiter botched anyhow when pouring the soup on to my plate. All in all, excellent steak but not worth the $150+ a person to get a proper full course meal here.

The steak was excellent. Some of the best ribeye I've had. Also amazing wagyu. The sides and apps are decent- but the steak is stellar. Be careful, as it can easily add up to a pricey meal with all of the extras- I would recommend splurging on steak rather than too many extra sides. The wagyu was beautiful, and sold by the ounce- so rich and fatty, you really only need a small amount to appreciate it.

Our food was excellent, especially the soup, tuna tartare and fillet. My flank steak was cooked to perfect doneness, but was a little dry. It needed more sauce. I feel the restaurant is overpriced, even given the obvious use of excellent ingredients and extensive labor. The restaurant is not as good as when it was Michael Minna.

I took my GF to Bourbon Steak for her birthday, having never been there previously. The inside of the building is huge, and very nice, as was the service as we were seated. We really enjoyed the wine list, our caesar salad, and steak tartare appetizer. The server was knowledgeable and friendly... definitely a good start to the experience. Bad side... The room was very loud. It sounded like we were in a cafeteria. Our $130 of cote de boeuf was far too chewy and dry for an expensive aged meat. We ordered it medium rare (which it was), but it still managed to lack any juiciness whatsoever. I enjoyed reheating the large bone at home in our microwave more than the actual prime cuts of that meat. Way too expensive, all in all.
