  • "Simplemente muy rico todo, la carne y las entradas de papas fritas sazonadas de manera diferente y con su aderezo especial. Sobretodo la atención y el servicio es de 1ra calidad"

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a great dinner at Bourbon Steak! We started out with their famous fries and sauces and it was really good!! I had the tuna tartar appetizer and it was the best I have ever had! My husband had the bib salad and it was also great! He got a big bone in Ribeye and I ordered Lobster so we could have surf and turf! The steak was cooked to perfection and was very flavorful!! The lobster was also delicious and it was the perfect amount for both of us to share!! We ordered a side of spinach. I can't say it was the best I have had but was good. The waiter brought us truffle macaroni which we did not order but it was awesome!! my husband ordered the beignets and he loved them!"

  • "While the atmosphere is nice, 30 feet ceilings in a beautiful old hotel, everything is over priced. The service was leisurely. After an hour, we had been served one drink and an appetizer. The food was good, but it should be spectacular given the prices. I gave it 3 stars because the value just isn't there."

  • "The food (especially the french fires) was outstanding. I had the rib cap, my wife had a filet. Both very pricey but great for a special occasion. The service was not great. The waitress spoke very softly and was hard to hear or make out what she was talking about. The food made up for the service. Didn't hurt that Roger Craig, Eddie D. and Tyler Florence were having dinner a few tables over."

  • "The reviews I had read had been mixed but my husband and I decided to try it anyway . The complimentary trio of fries with accompanying sauces was fantastic ! I then had a beet salad ( light and yummy ) followed by a very tender and flavorful filet . I could have omitted the baked potato after so many fries and just proceeded on to the delicious dessert beignets ! Courteous service in a lively atmosphere !"

  • "Food and service were excellent. It is much more expensive than indicated on Open Table so be prepared."

  • "Top notch food and service. This was my second trip to the restaurant and I was not disappointed despite my heightened expectations."

  • "I had recently moved to the city and was looking for a steakhouse that served good food, good cocktails had a good ambience, didn't just serve $150 cuts of meat, and with exceptional service. My experience at Bourbon Steak was lower than expectations based on purely name recognition and the cost of my meal. The space was not high end at all. With the right serving dishes and light it could be setting for a buffet breakfast at a mid range motel in suburbs. The service was very uninspiring. Great restaurants have a good timing on when servers show up. This one didn't. Cocktails were just okay. I will say some of the food was good. My steak was great but my wife's was raw. I wouldn't go back and will try some place else."

  • "Service was fantastic, excellent steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, wine selection, salads, and sides were all great (we had black truffle mac & cheese and mushrooms)"

  • "With Michael Mina's name at the forefront my expectations were high. While service was excellent, food offerings were a disappointment. NY steaks were cut thin and short ribs were so fatty they were difficult to enjoy. Location can't be beat but bring your wallet - you'll pay for the ambiance."

  • "We are local residents and have previously enjoyed many meals at Bourbon Steak, as it is often our choice for dinner or cocktails before the theater. However this past Saturday at (5:30) the service was sluggish, impersonal and, from the maitre'd, almost rude. To a party of 6 friends who were looking forward to a night out with dinner and a play, the inattentiveness of the staff put damper on our evening. The food was good, but of course, there are many fine restaurants in San Francisco. Disappointed."

  • "Over priced food. I felt a lot of the dishes were too pretentious. Steaks were excellent and perfectly cooked. French onion soup was terrible with a ridiculous presentation which my waiter botched anyhow when pouring the soup on to my plate. All in all, excellent steak but not worth the $150+ a person to get a proper full course meal here."

  • "Service Terrible - Food not very good - especially for the price."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "The steak was excellent. Some of the best ribeye I've had. Also amazing wagyu. The sides and apps are decent- but the steak is stellar. Be careful, as it can easily add up to a pricey meal with all of the extras- I would recommend splurging on steak rather than too many extra sides. The wagyu was beautiful, and sold by the ounce- so rich and fatty, you really only need a small amount to appreciate it."

  • "Great staff that was extremely helpful and suggestive. They had a lot to say about each item on the menu and everything we choose was excellent."

  • "Our food was excellent, especially the soup, tuna tartare and fillet. My flank steak was cooked to perfect doneness, but was a little dry. It needed more sauce. I feel the restaurant is overpriced, even given the obvious use of excellent ingredients and extensive labor. The restaurant is not as good as when it was Michael Minna."

  • "I took my GF to Bourbon Steak for her birthday, having never been there previously. The inside of the building is huge, and very nice, as was the service as we were seated. We really enjoyed the wine list, our caesar salad, and steak tartare appetizer. The server was knowledgeable and friendly... definitely a good start to the experience. Bad side... The room was very loud. It sounded like we were in a cafeteria. Our $130 of cote de boeuf was far too chewy and dry for an expensive aged meat. We ordered it medium rare (which it was), but it still managed to lack any juiciness whatsoever. I enjoyed reheating the large bone at home in our microwave more than the actual prime cuts of that meat. Way too expensive, all in all."

  • "Was underwhelmed by the aji crisp app, and both sides (truffle Mac n cheese & spinach) were over salted. The truffle mac was inedible - had to send it back. Very disappointed. "

  • "A very good restaurant at city center easy to reach and with available tables all the time. I believe it to be a little bit overpriced. The service was also excellent!!!!"

  • "Food was not worth the price we paid. I had the lobster pot pie and my husband had the steak. Service was ok - not bad but not great either. Fries were good though."

  • "While the food here is very good, and the service from the sommelier was really excellent on this trip, I continue to be confused by the practice of seating without menus. As we stretched into ten minutes of sitting without menus with servers moving around us and carefully ignoring us, we were finally approached by a server with menus who dropped them on the table and then exited to "give us time to settle in". Not sure what that first ten minutes consisted of... "

  • "the food at bourbon steak is divine! the service is impeccable...our dinner at bourbon steak was one that we will never forget! "

  • "I was suitably impressed with the menu -- the steak selection was absolutely astounding, including Japanese Wagyu beef (at appropriate prices - per ounce! There was a nice selection of side dishes to go with the meal as well -- I recommend the Broccoli and Cheese. The wine and bourbon list was extensive, but if you aren't drinking, prepare for a shock. As it's a 'bar-ish' kind of place, they charge per soft drink, in bar-sized glasses with lots of ice. The service was a bit lacking at times -- the server would often disappear helping other tables (which is understandable to an extent) for long stretches of time. Oh yes -- the dessert list... absolutely amazing. The beignets were wonderful, but watch out for the caramel! "

  • "Saturday night reservation for 5 guys. Was expecting pretty astonishing service, food and ambience given the reviews and the fact that it's a Michael Mina restaurant in the middle of Union Square. Healthy pours on the pre-dinner drinks at the bar - very nice. The service at dinner was appropriately paced (not too fast, not too slow) and very attentive but not overly so. Steak tartar to start was prepared at the table which was a bit forced but still kind of cool and delicious. Bone in rib eye cooked EXACTLY as I wanted it. Great wine list. Super deesert - root beer float comes with homemade warm cookies and the waiter brought out a few extra. Prices were HIGH hence the 3 star. Not a ton of value but for special occasions - it's fine."

  • "Stopped in between appointments and had tuna tartare which was fab. By the way, they do have options for gluten free - like the toast for the tartare. Must try the beignets. one of the best in town."

  • "Excellent service. Professional wait staff. Excellent food. We had the ribeye and it was cooked to order and seasoned perfectly. The desserts are awesome."

  • "Some of the best cuts of meat we have had. The side dishes were very good as well. And you cant beat the service - they were on top of it without bugging you."

  • "Obviously this is a steak house but their service and selection puts them over the top, skip the chains and go here! "

  • "The only reason why I didn't give this a five star rating is because when I made the reservation, it asked for a special request. I did say it was for a birthday "birthday for (name)". It was not acknowledged when I was seated nor did our waitress greeted a "happy birthday." All she said was "I know it's his birthday" after asking if they did anything special for birthdays. I have made a request previously in other restaurants and was greeted right away so they were aware. Also, the entire time we were eating, we were not asked once if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. I expected a high level of service esp for a very expensive place. Other than that, food was wonderful so the chefs did their jobs right. "

  • "Definitely pricey, but worth it. My wife and I visited SF for our first wedding anniversary and were fortunate enough to stay at the Westin St. Frances. We had our anniversary dinner here and loved every aspect of it. All total, we had an appetizer, a salad, two steaks(8oz fillet and 18oz ribeye) and the truffle mac n' cheese, I had two bourbons, and the wife had two glasses of wine and we got out for $270 including 20% tip rounded up. This is definitely in the top 3 most expensive dinners we've enjoyed together, but we budgeted for a wonderful trip and didn't regret it one bit. If you have the means, I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Sadly I think the Mina Group has gotten too big and the attention to detail gets lost. All of our side were totally lackluster. When you are charging prices like this - there is absolutely no room for error. Looking around the dining room it look like a room full of tourists getting fleeced. So many better dining options in SF. There is a reason why it's easy to get a table here at any time and any day of the week. Not worth the $$$$"

  • "I come here for the Lobster Pot Pie which is more of an experience than anything. Think large copper pot with a puff pastry lid and the lobster reassembled from the pot to your plate table side. Extremely good and partially responsible for my choosing the Windom St. Francis in the first place. Bar has a great premium selection and the service is impeccable. Not for the budget conscious. Great spot for vendors to take clients."

  • "Just off the Westin Lobby is more than your average hotel restaurant. American Celebrity Chef Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak delivers an excellent cocktail, wine and meal menu with professional yet unfussy service. A contemporary steakhouse with a california flare and craft brown liquor cocktails look no further than Bourbon Steak. Steak itself was flavorsome and superbly cooked medium rare but we also enjoyed the amuse-bouche of spiced fries and speciality sauces. Get the beignets for dessert."

  • "As we were leaving Bourbon, my buddy says to me "I used to think that going out in San Francisco meant spending big bucks. That's just the way it is. We'll, it doesn't have to be that way." If you want to overpay for a decent restaurant, Bourbon is your place."
