  • "Definitely pricey, but worth it. My wife and I visited SF for our first wedding anniversary and were fortunate enough to stay at the Westin St. Frances. We had our anniversary dinner here and loved every aspect of it. All total, we had an appetizer, a salad, two steaks(8oz fillet and 18oz ribeye) and the truffle mac n' cheese, I had two bourbons, and the wife had two glasses of wine and we got out for $270 including 20% tip rounded up. This is definitely in the top 3 most expensive dinners we've enjoyed together, but we budgeted for a wonderful trip and didn't regret it one bit. If you have the means, I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Sadly I think the Mina Group has gotten too big and the attention to detail gets lost. All of our side were totally lackluster. When you are charging prices like this - there is absolutely no room for error. Looking around the dining room it look like a room full of tourists getting fleeced. So many better dining options in SF. There is a reason why it's easy to get a table here at any time and any day of the week. Not worth the $$$$"

  • "I come here for the Lobster Pot Pie which is more of an experience than anything. Think large copper pot with a puff pastry lid and the lobster reassembled from the pot to your plate table side. Extremely good and partially responsible for my choosing the Windom St. Francis in the first place. Bar has a great premium selection and the service is impeccable. Not for the budget conscious. Great spot for vendors to take clients."

American Celebrity Chef Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak delivers an excellent cocktail, wine and meal menu with professional yet unfussy service. A contemporary steakhouse with a california flare and craft brown liquor cocktails look no further than Bourbon Steak. Steak itself was flavorsome and superbly cooked medium rare but we also enjoyed the amuse-bouche of spiced fries and speciality sauces. Get the beignets for dessert."

Julia picked up the rest of the show and provided world-class service throughout the entire meal. Everyone who approached our table was professional, friendly, and seamless. The Japanese Kobe can not be missed. Kudos to an amazing staff and manager Michael as well as the entire management, wine, and service team. Thank you for a wonderful evening!"

  • "First of all, the service staff from the hotel valet, to the waiters were very good. Simply put, for the price of the food, I was expecting the food to be a little more outstanding. I've eaten at other Michael Mina restaurants where the food was exceptional. The food here was good, but nothing to write home about, with the exception of the lobster pot pie. The steak was not as tender as I was told it to expect it. The bone marrow was described as being very flavorful but I found it almost taste-less. My fellow diner felt the same way as I did. For this price range I'd rather recommend RN74 based on the food alone."

We wanted a bit of salad, so for our party of 4 they kindly split the wedge into four servings, each plated beautifully. We had the bone in sirloin, filet, another cut of steak and fish. We added the spinach and potatoes. I would say congrats to this kitchen -- excellent."

  • "I was excited to try this restaurant, but it left a lot to be desired. The food was all right, not nearly worth the price tag. My friend and I shared a wedge salad (the dressing was not good) and the lobster pot pie, which tasted very good, cost $80, and was fairly meager on the lobster... The desserts were excellent, but overall I would not choose to go to this restaurant again."

  • "My wife and I both got steaks; a New York and filet, both where cooked ok but taste was not spectacular. My steaks I purchase at whole foods and cook myself taste better for a fraction of the price. Now if looking for a great steak experience worth the $70 price tag I would rather spend it a Press restaurant in St. Helena, Ca. However the beet salad was pleasant if you don't mind very over powering goat cheese. The Mac and cheese was bland. I would not return."

  • "We have been to Bourbon Steak a few times. This last time was disappointing. The service was lacking. The service felt comparable to service you could expect in a busy diner where waitstaff are stretched thin and eventually get around to your table when they get a chance--when it is convenient for the staff. The waitress did not ask us if we wanted cocktails and did not even bring us a cocktail menu. We had to ask her if we could look at a menu. The food was fine even though the menu does not seem to have changed a whole lot. But we probably will not return for a while considering the poor service made the overall value of the experience not at all worth the cost of the bill. We will seek out other restaurants in the Bay Area."

  • "We ate here about a month or so ago and thought it was terrific. The second visit wasn't quite so satisfying. I ordered the veal and was surprised that it was dry. The noise level here is pretty high, but is a great attraction for young people. (Which we're not!) The service was gracious and pleasant, but we they considerable difficulty preparing a proper martini. (In fairness - I didn't order a martini but rather specified the gin, vermouth and ratio that I wanted.) I was impressed that the bar tender bent over backwards, preparing the martini several times in an attempt to get it right. We'll try Bourbon Steak again - best 2 out of 3 - since we expect good things from any Minna restaurant. But we were disappointed with this second visit."

  • "The food was uniformly awful; "bland" and "oily" were the dominant themes throughout. My date and I left without being able to actually finish any of the three courses ( we abandoned all hope and skipped desert ), having spent over $300 ( without wine ). Best advice: stay away."

  • "We went with two people in wheelchairs. The wheelchair lift got stuck for 30 minutes and they had to pry the door open with a crowbar and lift my dad out. They had to take my mom through the kitchen after the lift broke. Then to leave they both had to go through the kitchen and use the service elevator. They were very apologetic and treated us very well but I wouldn't wish this on future customers! Once seated the food and service was wonderful."

Bourbon was not so. The Brussels sprouts side was burned and over salted. The nin-Wagyu steak was nothing special, certainly not worth the exorbitant price mark-up."

This year we go a room in the Westin St. Francis so that we could go straight from diner to our room, and it was great. The food was great, and the wine pairings were fantastic."

  • "I was lucky and managed to get a last-minute reservation for Valentine's Day. I guess our timing was also good because we were seated at a really good table at the corner of the room. We didn't opt for the special Valentine's Day tasting menu, but everything we had was good, except for the steak tartare. The dressing was a bit too sweet for my taste. We think the server noticed and sent us a complimentary side of potato puree. Oh, another thing to watch out for is the complimentary fries at the beginning of your meal. They're so good you'll just keep munching on them without noticing. By the time our main course came out, we were too stuffed to finish them. Service was also excellent. Second time here, and Bourbon Steak didn't disappoint."

  • "I have eaten here before, as well as Bourbon Steak in Washington DC. Brought some very good Clients and my Bosses. Bourbon did not disappoint. Their service is friendly and very attentive. The wines were wonderful -- the 3 that we ordered were small distribution California wines, excellent. Especially liked the Lutum from Lompoc, CA. The food, of course, was delicious -- from the starters (gnudi, tuna tartare), to the steaks to the sides. And the chocolate dessert was decadent. And I appreciate that the sound level is not so loud that you cannot have a normal conversation. We were there on a Tuesday evening, and it was full. A very fun evening."

For the price, I left feeling underwhelmed. I appreciated that the staff was considerate of my food allergy and took proper precautions to ensure I stayed safe. However, one individual on our table had a drink poured on him and the personality of our waitress was more than lackluster. A bit disappointing. In general, a decent dining experience. However, when spending $300+ per couple, I expect to walk away with a spectacular meal in a spectacular setting with spectacular service."

  • "The service was subpar for a meal where we spent about $140 a person for dinner. Seating us at a very SMALL table for our party of 10. With a broken extension. We had to suggest a solution before anyone took initiative to get it fixed. Food was okay. Nice Steak - Server neglected to serve items without Bacon, upon request. Service was poor - Leaving our app plates on the table for 20 minutes after we we done eating. I had to call over staff to clear our table of plates. Ask for more water! Really?!?! Where is the Michael Mina of yesteryear... Where they anticipated your every need and the service was on par with a $1400 dinner table for 8 adults, 2 children with only 2 bottles of moderately priced wines."

  • "The food and service was wonderful. Pricier than most, but quality and service was worth it. I had the kale salad and vegetarian dumplings and my husband had the caesar salad an 8 oz filet which was cooked perfectly. French fries instead of bread course was a welcomed surprise. We also tried the donuts for dessert, yummy! Wished we had seen the whiskey cart before we left, can't wait to try that the next time."
