Experience of a lifetimeThe experience of a lifetime is the only way to describe my dinner. Lobster pot pie, Wagyo Cap steak, Seafood appetizer, salads-all delicious & should not be missed. The staff was very attentive and on point. No detail was left undone. Beet salad was super fresh, ahi appetizer was excellent, prepared tableside and generous in portion. Steaks were prepared to perfection, so mouthwateringly good! Cream corn was excellent too- super sweet corn and sauce wasn't overly creamy. Beignets are to die for! Even my husband who doesn't eat dessert gobbled these down! Their complimentary duck fries are the bomb! Had a great filet that was done perfectly. The only thing I didn't care for in this restaurant or any for that matter, is that if the restaurant is not full, why they put you right "on top" of another table dining. We got there early as the place filled up an hour later. It was rather difficult to hear conversation at our table as it was noisy...and full. The service was pretty good even though our waiter got two large tables pretty much at the same time. The food was excellent and portions were adequate. I must say that this is not the best one and I am a bit disappointing with the quality of food in SF chain. As a tradition of Bourbon Steak, they served us duck fat fries which was used to be my favourite but the fries served in this SF restaurant did not have the same quality as the same ones from the other chains. The steak too is not outstanding and it was a bit dry in my opinion. My favourite is the one in Miami. The decoration is romatic and the food is awesome. My only small complaint was that the short ribs I ordered were too salty for my taste. My husband loved the steak he ordered. The beet and burrata salad was amazing. The food is great, the service is impeccable, but it's a little pricey. I think they might have better identification on the street to indicate where the restaurant is, but once you realize there is no street entrance you will stumble upon the Westin Hotel on Powell St. This is a unique steakhouse. You don't get bread with the meal, but you do get bins of the most delicious French Fries and sauces you can imagine. Who needs bread! The tuna tartar requires a presentation by the server at the table to mix in some ingredients like apple pear into the tuna. That's delicious and original. The oysters were excellent as expected. The beet salad was great. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the wine list and offered great suggestions on what to order food wise; however, my friend and I weren't in the mood to spend more than $100 on a meal.
We ordered drinks (she some wine, me, I asked that the bartender make up a drink using Hanger 1 Kaffir Lime, and boy, did he hit it out the park!) We decided to try the macaroni and cheese ($11). Definitely delicious, but for the amount given, definitely wasn't worth the price.
