Prior to grilling, all meats at BOURBON STEAK are first poached to mouthwatering tenderness-red meats in butter, lamb in olive oil and pork in bacon fat.

Keeping with the nation’s capital’s emphasis on power daytime dining, BOURBON STEAK is one of the first Michael Mina restaurants to serve lunch. Guests can anticipate new salad entrées accompanied by homemade, fresh from the oven bread, each specifically created to complement the salad it is paired with.

Rockwell Group of New York composed a design scheme which reflects the elegant informality of Mina’s modern American cuisine, while also paying tribute to the classical stature of the hotel. Natural materials and crafted accents surround the space, from seeded and rubbed glass, to stitched leather and wood.

Every dish was tasty and it had a creative presentation. But the best thing was our server Josh and his team!!! Really great service with the sensitive for details. Very impressive!!! We highly recommend this restaurant to everybody how likes fine dining with the extra touch!! This was our best dining experience in DC! Thanks again bourbon steak for a unforgettable night!!!"

  • "Despite being next to a table with an extremely loud, boorish and perhaps inebriated gentleman, we had a very good meal and terrific service at Bourbon Steak....shared a huge porterhouse steak, with terrific sweet and sour eggplant as a shared appetizer (it's normally a side, and the portion was easily more than enough for two)....our sides for the steak were excellent mushrooms and a middling baked potato. Bourbon Steak's bar has an astonishing list of spirits....including dozens of bourbons....and our drinks were great. It's expensive, but worthy of a special occasion."

  • "My cousin, from Tennessee, was in DC for business. She wanted to go out for dinner. She mentioned how much she liked the steak at one of 'those' chain resturants. I told her that I believe a better option is available, but I've never been. She was game for my choice so I invited two additional folks and made reservations for 6:30. We were all very pleased with the food and service. From the moment we drove up to the Four Seasons' until we walked out of Bourbon Steak three hours later, everything was great, people were highly attentive and personable. We ordered the porterhouse, the the ribeye, the duck and artic char. Note: Ahi Tuna Tartar was my appetizer. The server put on a small show as he presented and plated the tuna--Awesome!"

Great wine selection, so that was an added bonus. Bottom line is that Bourbon is a great dinner destination and I would recommend to a friend."

The food is, of course, amazing (the three members of my group all had different steaks) but the service is what pushes Bourbon Steak over the top. Even my grumpy 70 year old Dad commented that the service was perfect. Our waitress provided just the right amount of guidance on the menu, made great recommendations, and seemed to sense exactly when we needed her. The sommelier seemed to read my mind, and found us the perfect northern Italian Nebbiolo, right in our price range. The unexpected extras, too (three styles of fries with dipping sauce that arrive unexpectedly, delicious hot buttered rolls) made this just a wonderful time. Definitely recommend."

  • "it was my first time here and the second time for my husband. He had the best experience the first time compared to this time. I felt that the waiter wasn't attentive to us at all (he had someone he was training which you would think you would get A+ service) and felt like he was all over the place other than giving us service. We waited what felt like forever to just be greeted by the server and our drink order taken. He forgot two of the sides we ordered and brought it out when the steak was almost done and didn't even offer to do anything about it. The steak was just okay ... had better at home."

  • "My husband took me to Bourbon Steakhouse to celebrate 6 months post bone marrow transplant and he could not have made a better selection. Literally everything we ordered was amazing. It is worth noting that the Wagyu Flat Iron was the best steak I have ever had and I have been to a lot of steakhouses. The magic mushrooms are also delicious with their steak. Bourbon is not cheap but you leave really full and beyond satisfied with your meal."

  • "Oh, my--what a wonderful meal we had! the only drawback of the whole evening was the elevated noise level (but it was an indication of the enjoyment diners were having). We all enjoyed our food immensely. My duck breast was heavenly. We highly recommend the fois gras for a starter and the figgy pudding for dessert, too. It was a special evening. The wait staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. To a person, from the people who opened our car doors, to the people at the host stand, to the servers: all were friendly and that friendliness seemed truly sincere."

  • "The atmosphere was festive but not too loud, and the service was prompt and friendly. My children enjoyed the wonderful French Fry Trio as we waited for our appetizers to arrive. Our steaks were delicious and the Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, and mushroom sides were all exceptional. My salad was a bit too tart for my taste, which might have been remedied by a few more dried cherries. (I counted only two.) The figgy cake dessert was unique and delicious. We will return, after our pocketbook recovers!"

  • "We ate at Bourbon Steak on Valentine's Day and the experience was wonderful. We arrived an hour early for our reservation but the staff graciously seated us immediately. My wife started with the spaghetti squash bisque and I had the tuna tartare - both were remarkable. We both selected the Wagyu ribeye which arrived at the table perfectly cooked to medium rare, fanned atop a succulent puree of Yukon Gold potatoes. Yum. I opted for the cheese and beet plate for my dessert course and my wife selected the chocolate pot de creme. Once again, both of these selections were amazing - my wife is nothing short of a connoisseur of chocolate desserts (she makes the best chocolate mousse I've ever had) and she couldn't say enough about her dessert!"

For example, we got paella along with the steaks that would put nearly every Spanish place to shame. And the baked potato with pancetta! Almost want to go just for the sides--wonder if they'd let me have some take out. Good drink menu too. Caveat emptor. This will tax most budgets, even more than other opulent steak joints around town, so plan accordingly and it makes a great place for special occassions. But what a way to burn $. This is living!"

  • "This is hands down the best meal we've had in DC in a long time. We've dined at almost every restaurant on the food critics' lists, and this was the absolute best. The steaks high quality cuts and perfectly cooked. the presentation of the lobster pot pie is reason enough to order it on our next visit. Everything was perfect, down to the desserts. The brownie was fun--it had sugar cubes with whiskey inside--break the sugar cube, and the whiskey flows out. For any special occasion, I can't think of a better place. Can't wait to go back."

The flat iron was the perfect medium rare. The kale is to die for. You can't ask for better service. My only comment is the noise level. The music from the bar bleeds over, and you have to talk with a raised voice. If management could tone down the noise, Bourbon Steak would be 5 stars in my book."

  • "Went for Anniversary with my wife, was given the Chef's table and had immaculate service. We were to as if we were the only ones in the restaurant even though it was packed to capacity. A lot of surprises from the chef and a lot of special tastings truly one of the best dining experiences I've had. Pricey but worth it, I don't mind paying for quality. Overall food was spectacular, service impeccable, and ambiance was perfect and made cozy, I will definitely be back in the very near future."

  • "We went to Bourbon Steak for my husbands birthday. We enjoyed our time from the moment we entered the restaurant. The service was impeccable. The staff was very attentive, yet didn't hover, during our entire 3 hour meal. We really enjoyed the food. The complementary duck fries were phenomenally good, as was the truffle bread. My husband and I enjoyed the dry aged bone in new york strip, which was cooked well. We also had the truffle mac and cheese and the brussels sprouts with duck confit; both were quite good. We were impressed the restaurant offered Chateau d'Yquem by the glass, not something we've seen anywhere else. Upon our departing from the restaurant even the valet team graciously wished my husband a happy birthday."

  • "Yes, Bourbon is expensive, but it is usually worth every penny. Our recent visit was one of those nights. The Four Seasons' stylish decor provides Bourbon with an outstanding setting. Service is always exceptional even compared with other high end restaurants. Bourbon is morr about the experience than the food. For example, I probably would've gotten a better porterhouse Morton's. Nonetheless, the food was still good."
