Bourbon Steak at The Fairmont Scottsdale PrincessGreat Japanese TwistFood was outstanding with a pleasant Japanese Twist......Love this restaurant, the ambiance, location and service....Will be back definitely5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinnerExcellent food, ambiance, and service! We went for restaurant week and they offered a variety of choices. Everyone loved their dinner!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe tried this out during restaurantWe tried this out during restaurant week. Flat Iron steak was delicious. Squid pasta (black pasta with shrimp/squid) was a disappointment. Overcooked and mushy (I prefer al dente) and instead of prawns it featured popcorn shrimp. Yuck. It needed to be cooked less and have some spice. The duck confit was simply amazing. The crème Brule with beignets was probably the best dessert I've had, ever. The wine that the sommelier guided us to was an excellent and reasonably priced bottle. We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMwe'll be back!Celebrated our wedding anniversary with another couple visiting in town, and well-worth the drive up from South Chandler to enjoy Bourbon Steak! My wife and I split the ribeye, which was cooked to perfection, and had great flavor. One of our guests had the scallops, and remarked that they "were the best she's ever had", and her date also partook in the Restaurant Week tasting menu, and he thought it was awesome as well. The whipped mashed potatoes were delectable, and the cheesecake dessert was completely off the charts with the raspberry sorbet! Sommelier visited our table, and although not all of our table were wine drinkers--he made excellent recommendations. Would definitely recommend it, and we'll be back!!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMYum for Restaurant WeekI came for the foie gras appetizer. it did not disappoint. In fact it was so filling that i could only eat half of my flat iron steak, so I took the rest home. As leftovers it still had all the tenderness, flavor and pleasure I experienced during dinner. For dessert I had the cheesecake and raspberry sorbet. They complement each other, thick and creamy vs icy and fruity.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful timeMy father-in-law, wife and I came for Restaurant week and it was amazing. The food was top notch. Probably the best thing though was the staff: from bus person to manager to sommelier, they were all on point. Everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and made the experience wonderful. It was a great time with great food. We'll be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMVery pricey, but if you wantVery pricey, but if you want to splurge this is a great place to go. It was my husband's birthday and they treated him to a free desert and a birthday card. I probably wouldn't return since it was very expensive, but glad we gave it a try.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWas a wonderful experience. Was a wonderful experience. Service was sensational and food amazing!! Will definately return.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOur dinner guests told usOur dinner guests told us it was the best meal they ate in a year! Flawless service and exquisitely prepared food and an incredible wine selection. what one would expect from a Fairmont resort restaurant.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe appetizer of three differentThe appetizer of three different French Fries with three different sauces was a wonderful start. Our steaks were delicious, cooked exactly as we asked for them. The strawberry dessert was outstanding. When we travel to Scottsdale again, we will have Bourbon Steak on our list of restaurants not to miss.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Australian New York StripThe Australian New York Strip was fantastic. Worth every dollar. A pleasant place for a good meal.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI ate there twice at a recentI ate there twice at a recent stay while attending a conference at the Fairmont -- although it is pricey -- the food, service and unexpected treats like the fries 3 ways and caramel popcorn at the end of the night were great touches that impressed the clients I was entertaining.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper service and food even on VdayFound my favorite wine, George and had a great meal for Valentines day. The service was exceptional with extra managers helping to clear plates, help us with dessert menus and such. Both our meals were scrumptious as well !2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood place for special occasionsWe went to Bourbon Steak for our anniversary. This was our first visit to this restaurant. Knowing that it was our anniversary they offered us a complimentary glass of champagne which was very considerate. However, after our first glass the server poured us a second. At that point we wondered if we were now committed to buying the bottle vs a bottle of wine as we had planned. When the server came by and filled our glasses for the third time,we knew we were going to be charged for the champagne. That was rather uncomfortable for us as we were originally so flattered by the kind gesture, but would have preferred to have had some input into the decision. The food was good and we had a celebrity sighting - Tim Tebow was having dinner.1/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful !!!I recommend that you listen to the waiter's explanations carefully (user assistance for the menu). It's key to your ability to order well.
The steaks are sublime, and so are the accouterments (mac & cheese (may have been a special item on our night), salt-baked potato with a huge array of traditional fixin's, creamed spinach with smoked onion, sunchoke gratin with goat cheese sauce, and so on).
We had the 14 oz New York Strip...cut it in half ourselves, and that was plenty of steak for us. Very good steak by any standard.
A must is the mascarpone deconstructed cheesecake for dessert (remember, "life is uncertain, EAT dessert!" ... Ernestine Ulmer!)12/29/2012 12:00:00 AM
